The Fan Art Forum Guide - Rules/Tuts./Questions *updated 10-05

Re: The Fan Art Forum Guide - Rules/Tuts./Questions *updated 07-22

Meh, I'm officially now the blondest moron on earth! (or at my home, IDK :D)
I just realized that I already own PS Elements 5! It seems that it's pre-installed on my computer  Yeah, don't try anything without a huge cup of coffee, Vera

(and I absolutely need tutorials how to use this program, it's so different from my present one!)

Whatever: does anyone have a great idea what to wish for Christmas? Concerning graphic programs? :D

Erm does anyone know where I can find some christmasy brushes/textures?
I found some but not much!

Thanks in advanced ! =)

I have a regular MacBook, with no added software. Does anyone know what program would work best for creating icons? I've been using Luna, an online program, but would like to find something in terms of software I already have.

Also, which sites would people recommend for hosting images, especially .gif files? I tried LiveJournal, but it only showed one frame of the animated picture.

happyharper, I use a MacBook too. In terms of software that come with the computer, there isn't really anything that does this kind of thing. You can, however, download a program called gimp for free. I haven't tried it yet, but I know a lot of people around here have.

For hosting images, I would recommend photobucket or imageshack. Both work well with .gif files :)

Hope that helps!

Thanks! I'll check all of those out :)

Best place to host art?

I have a photobucket page for posting stuff on forums etc, but I'm thinking of getting a proper 'site' of a sort to host all my graphic artwork.

So far I'm thinking either livejournal or deviantart.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Re: Best place to host art?

Personally I like LiveJournal. I only got to DeviantArt when I am looking for textures and brushes.

I am going to move this to the question thread!!!

Re: Best place to host art?

Thanks Kat, I wasn't sure if I was posting in the right place...sorry!!

Live Journal...will check it out now!

Re: Best place to host art?

No worries!!! Quite a few people in this forum (including myself) have a LJ. LJ is also a great place for resources.

Re: Best place to host art?

I agree, LJ is great for holding icons. I have a DeviantArt account, but all my fan art icons were deleted because of 'copy right infringement' So I stopped using it.
