The Defenders

Nick takes a sexual-assault case & Pete reluctantly reports for jury duty

TV Guide, issue Jan. 10-16!

From Jan. 12~

Nick defends a kid Mike who's accused of rape. He's know him since he was 12 no 18]. Pete gets called to jury duty~

Rape victim picks out Mike from a photo-lineup but a key wittness [Desi] dies from a drug overdose.~

The dad of the kidnap victim only had visitation rights, the mom had custody The dad didn't bring him home after visit but they found him and Sasha at the airport heading to Russia. He claimed the mom said it was OK~

Rape victim testifys she was asleep when he was on top of her and tied up her hands and then she points out Mike in the courtroom. Nick shows a video of her pointing him out but after she didn't pick him out the 1st time:confused: Nick goes "are you sure"? she goes "I'm not sure now"

Nick and his asst. Lisa go to her bedroom she was supposdly a student at USNLV but no books in her room, plus she worked full time at a bar~Formerly she has accused another guy of the same thing but the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence. Mike's mom said he was home but she was lying to protect him. then the kicker. He goes to Nick "I'm not going to prison for that slut" WHAT:wtf: so he did do it, and had convinced Nick and everyone else too, that he was innocent. Nick jumped up and attacked him and they had to pull him off "You lying little weasel":scream: Pete tells Nick "put him on the stand he'll hang himself", and dig his own hole. So they do, and he swears he was playing video games with the friend [Desi] the druggie on his TV. So the prosecution shows the Desi's apt. and NO TV, so he did hang himself:eek:Nick did feel bad that he didn't believe the girl, she was telling the truth~

Petes case was guilty.... They such a crack up arguing about their corporate CC and what it should be used for and what not to be used for.

The last scene having drinks together, and Nick says "Ever wondered what we'd be doing if we weren't attorneys"? Pete says "My ancestors were potato farmers, so even on our worst day, this is better that that" Nick "I'll drink to that"

Ex. producer Carol Mendelsohn~

It moved to Friday nights where Blue Bloods was on and Blue Bloods moved to their time for a little while. CBS playing around with time spots again. Great show so hope it stays around.

Actually, CBS isn't swapping them. Blue Bloods is airing on Wednesday because CBS wants to turn it into an even bigger Friday hit by exposing it to new viewers. The show will return to Friday when the Criminal Minds spinoff takes over the Wednesday 10:00 timeslot on February 16th. As for The Defenders, it is replacing Medium, which will end this week, on Fridays at 8:00. It will air there until it completes its run, and a new show, Chaos starring Freddy Rodriguez and Eric Close, will air on Fridays at 8:00 beginning April 1st.

Hope that helps!

Thank's ragincajun Ms. Information:bolian: I couldn't find this info. anywhere. So that makes sense to replace "Medium" what a loss of that show though, it was so good too:( Jim Belushi is fantastic and Jerry McConnell too~

New night Friday and new time 8:00 p.m. better:bolian:

A murder suspect reappears 17 years after disppearing on the eve of his wife's murder trial

TV Guide issue, Jan. 24-Feb.6~

This was a great episode, Some new Vegas mixed with some old. :bolian:

Nick has a girlfriend, he's so cute and so happy. He in the opening scene kisses her goodbye with saying they'll meet up later and he's walking towards his car and is mugged. Another thug is waiting and throws a burlap tpe sack over his head and the drive away with him in the back. Into the desert [where else?] Lo-and-behold it's an old freind Donnie who's been gone for 17 years, and Nick is miffed off. What the hell are you doing, you almost gave me a heart attack, and with a gun". Donnie goes "I'm sorry" Then he told his sob story, how he was going up for trial for his wifes murder, and he was afraid he'd be convicted, so he split. The cops show up, [Nick had quickly dialed 911] and he surrendered. Donnie in the day that was connected to the mob. So anyways Nick decides to defend him again~

His blood was found on the wife Amanda. The old DNA was missing. The judge still won't dismiss the case. Nick goes to see his daughter who was 6 when he ran away, and she's convinced he did kill her mom and tells Nick to leave. Pete is going to help Nick work on the case.!

Nick goes to see the old crime boss Carmine, he dummies up and doesn't give him any info Nick back then, worked for him and low level mobsters. The go out to the parking lot and Pete's car blows up [oh boy another explosion] He's scared out of his wits. Nick doesn't think the murder is connected to the old mob they used guns and she was strangled. And fought back So he asks the judge to exhume her body for DNA evidence under her fingernails. she OK's it. Body is exhumed and it's not a match to Donnie. Meanwhile the neighbor who called in the crime back then is found to have been putting flowers on her grave for 17 years. Apparently he put the moves on her, she rebuffed him and he killed her. His name is Cahill. The daughter, hugs her dad and realizes he's innocent. The prosecutor in her closing goes "The guilty run away" Nick in his goes "The innocent return"

Donnie is found guilty regardless of Nick's closing summary. I was stunned by this. So as they were walking out of the courtroom, the see Cahill throw a coffee cup in a trash bin. The recover it for DNA and a appeal for Donnie.

Always so good, great new show:bolian:

A man with 30 cocaine bricks is caught and defended by Nick and Pete, who try to prove their client was duped

TV Guide, issue, Feb.7-13~

Great episode, and special guest Dan Ackroyd, working as a judge His best buddy was John Belushi, Jim's bro. He was great. The prostitute conning guys to help deliver drugs, by putting them in their cars, without their knowledge, and Nick posing as one of the poor smucks. He was fantastic, and she fell for his ruse. He almost was smitten by her beauty, but they broke in the room in Mexico, and arrested her. Such a good show with so much comedy mixed in:guffaw:

Nick reluctantly defends a scornful judge [Dan Aykroyd] who is charged with multiple counts of drug possession

TV Guide, issue Feb. 14-27~

Nick [Jim] and Judge Hunter [Dan] are so funny and in tune, such pros.

He calls Nick and is up on drug charges 30-40 counts of a controlled subtance and with a call girl in a sleazy motel Dan Ackroyd was great in this as a serious yet clown like judge. He was a total delight.~

He jokes all the way through the interogation "What kind of bus was Willie Nelson on, a cannibus, much to Nick's dismay rolling his eyes:rolleyes:

He also treis to tell them what to do. and Pete gets in on it too. He's so erractic goes off in left field, rambling, thinking everything is hunky-dory:lol:

2nd cast a girl is suing a restuarant for getting sick on thier dairy prodcuts served to her:(

The girl Lucy who was with him he was actually trying to help her, bad life as a stripper, and he of course think's he's beyond reproach.~

The other case they offered her $15,000 for the poisioning, it seems fishy to Lisa. she says NO~

Nick puts the judge on the stand, he's been a judge for 17 yrs. in Vegas, Nick was fair in his questions. He had found out that Lucy was in an abusive relationship and was trying to help her get out of it "I do not regret meeting Lucy Cardell for 1 minute"

She had been pulled over by the cops [it was a sting] and they gave her the oxicontin which she had when the judge and her were only talking in the motel, but she was knocking them back with whiskey and he was too, He actually saved her by calling 911. which is when Nick found him~

Now they offered the other girl $20,000 so why?

So the judge gets off, and outside Nick goes to him, "if you ever in these parts again, we'll get together for a beer" Hunter goes "What is this "Little House On The Prairie"? "I'll be back just taking some tme off" Pete makes fun of him and Nick throws a "fake punch"

Behind the scenes with "The Defenders" Jerry O'Connell~

"Jim is alot of fun to work with, and he gets everyone involved O'Connell says. "How do we make this better as a group? We all go to my house for parties"

It's Vegas, baby!
Last Friday's episode of The Defenders, attorneys Pete Kaczmarek [Jerry] and Nick [Jim] took on Kathy Griffin as their client, when her character, and insult comic, is sued for making fun of an overweight audience member. Comedic guest stars aside, O'Connell tells TV Guide Magazine that the set is always fun and games. "Jim and I mess around with each other a bunch", he says.
