The Closer

This episode was a mish-mash of silliness:lol:

Two old geezers w/ Flynn & Provenza two young "flight attendants" out on the town. Provenza and one of the girls go back to her place, and he goes in the bathroom to "get ready" and find a dead guy in the bathtub.

The squad is all over it like flies on you know what. Provenza acts all innocent till Julio presents a pair of Pink fluffy handcuffs. He can't get up from the sofa, cause' well, he had taken Viagra and Brenda was apalled and goes "EWWWW" and her miffed off expressions, where hilarious!

This show is a comedy/drama~ Pope goes "what is this the "70's"?

The flight attendant and Brenda keeps calling them air-line stewardesses, and kept getting corrected:lol:

Brenda interogating the two chicks hilarious, so did they know this dead guy [name was Ryan] they have Flynn and Provenza take them back to his house, where they have hidden cameras, and are watching & listening in a van across the street. They confessed they did know him, and were smuggling drugs for him. Somehow the pilot [he was the doctor in CSI's "Butterflied"] was also involved. So, the funny part here was Provenza goes. "did you use us till this drug thing blew over"? One of the girls goes "not only, but mainly" but if you come to Dallas my mom would go out with you" He was shocked. Like these two bimbos would go out with these silver-haired older men:confused:

The end was a circus everybody running around at the airport, a comedy of errors.[one had stolen Provenxa's car] so crazy..I'm still not sure who killed the drug guy in the bathtub:confused:

Det. Mikki Mendoza [Paola Turbay] directs Brenda and her squad to probe a string of sadistic slayings that may signal a Mexican drug cartel's arrival in the city

TV GUIDE~

This episode was fantastic. Riveting and so over the top:eek:

Starts with Julio and the kid he's kinda of taken under his wing, due to the fact, his family has disappeared. He's skating around the office, and he tells him not to like a dad would. Provenza copes an attitude, he's so grouchy:lol:

Brenda and the team find a dead body in a hole headless They're have been 3 found like this with missing organs. In San Diego, Phoenix and L.A. It shows then Fritz and Brenda going over all the gruesome photos, with Leo on the kitchen table with her feeding him kitty snacks:p so cute. [good boy].

Brenda hasn't told them about her possible promotion, but they have sorta of put two and two together but she refuses to talk about it.

The dead kid's name was Pedro, and his mom hadn't reported him missing, but in order to keep getting her welfare checks she has to report him missing, so she does, with an attitude and not sorry he's dead:(

These boys were missing heart's kidneys, and livers~Brenda figures the killers are selling the body parts. Julio doesn't think so. They go to a free clinic and talk with Dr. Narvarro, and he does remember Pedro, he set his leg, but didn't report it due to gang threats~Another boy Oscar had a transplant, but the dad wouldn't divulge the details of who it was~

Twists and turns to say the least. It turns out that Dr. Navarro was doing the transplants because a 14-yr. old girl was raped by 16 boys, and he felt they didn't deserve to live. Meanwhile Brenda and the squad surround the operating [he was doing a heart transplant on a girl] and demanded he stop. He continues anyway, & there's lots of nasty rhetoric between the doctor and Brenda. They couldn't break in, cause' the place was enclosed with plexi-glass. After he finished [she was ok] they arrested the doctor.~

The squad found Reubens mom & brought him don to the dept. he ran over and hugged her, with Julio hapy yet sad. He had never tried to find her he wanted to adopt the boy. But the happy ending. As they were leaving he went to the elevator and aked the mom "are you married or have a boyfriend" she goes "NO", she he asked them out to dinner, the boy was thrilled. He had bonded with Julio. So a real tear jerker. So maybe we'll see a romance blooming between Julio and Reubens mom

Parole-board member is killed during a phone call with Gabriel, prompting Pope's plan to improve the department's image. But, Brenda must first solve the murder~

Starting with Miss Ross a Parole Board Commisioner on the phone with Gabriel, and begging to talk to Erico, and then gets cut off [she meant [Verico]..

Hey find her dead in her home, shot in the head, and her throat slit by a box cutter, but all the doors, windows are hermitically sealed with no way to get in or out, very puzzling:confused:

They find Verico who told them a week earlier her car and home had been broken into, with nothing missing. But it reeked of Gardenia perfume. Pope thinks all board members are at risk, and him and Brenda get into it, and he takes over the case~Apparently has been snaking around her house and they have no ida who it is~

Verico said he told her to get police protection, but she refused. He goes over to Brenda's house and she questions him meanwhile the whole squad orders in pizza and she found them feeding some of it to Joel the kitty and yelled at them NO-NO, and sent him to out of the room:lol:Brenda chows down, and she's such a trip. [one of the most colorful characters ever on TV] I will go out on a limb and hope she [Kyra] wins an Emmy:bolian:

Pope brings down a inmate form Folsom prison for Brenda to interogate, they feel it was a hit ordered by someone in prison, and his MO is he killed someone at an ATM machine by sliting his throat with a box cutter~

His name is Medina and he's a rough talking, swearing dude. Brenda promises him an early realease, if he'll tell them what he knows. Outside the two-way window the team is going:wtf: especially Pope by her promising him such a deal.:(

Pope is furious with her and they get into it again:klingon:

So, bottom line it was the wife, who when Brenda questioned her and lied about the guy who did it, saying he'd gotten out of prison of the dead guy who had his throat slit, & she reeked of the same Gardenia fragrance that was all over the dead gals house. and Medina did pay someone to op her, because he was denied parole. She had stoen the garage door openre and re-progamed the garage door, so that's how she got in and out. Brenda called her a lunatic:eek:

The squad investigates a deadly bank robbery likely committed by a notorious gang of thieves, but this latest crime doesn't fit their modus operandi

TV Guide~

Started with a bank robbery that went horribly wrong, and ended up with the suspects all dead plus a security guard as well.

Fritz was on the scene and they were called "The Dear Jane Gang"~

Fritz got promoted as a liaison with the LAPD, the expressions on the squad's faces, classic. Pople fumbling around said "Congratulations" a bit suspicious because he's married to Brenda Lee. She also was at a loss for words. She goes "why didn't you tell me?", he replies "I dind't know, I walked in this morning and they told me"

A mish-mash of complications to and long to share. Fritz and Brenda get nto a shouthing mathc at home about the robbery, he knows stuff he can't share with her, she gets furious, he goes into the bedroom and slams the door.:scream: She softly goes "I'm sorry"

Back in her office the next day, she's on a rampage to find out the in's and out's of this robbery, and starts going through her candy drawer searching for the last Hershey bar, when Provenza comes in and finds it. She gobbles it down and stomps off.~

So one brother smart and one not so much were involved in this robbery, one gets killed. One needs to watch this to understand it all. It's always a re-run before the new one. So, you can catch it next week~

The edning thought was a suprise Pope was not on the list for a promotion, but Brenda was, he was so mad, and told her "get out", she was "I'm so sorry" and her painful expressions told it all. he yelled again "get out". He'd worked for this all his career life and is not even considered. She left upset:(

The squad investigates the slaying of an aspiring actress, & Brenda preps for a job interview for the "chief of police", though she has mixed feelings about taking this post

TV GUIDE~

I know this is a double post, but for good reason to congratulate Kyra on her EMMY win, for best actress in a drama series
congrat.gif
I knew she'd take it. Her acceptance speech brought me to tears. How she thanked everyone and her hubby Kevin who she called the "love of my life" and him smiling. She looked fabulous. good job Kyra

Long overdue.

Yes indeed AnnaP after 5 nominations it's about time. She's so great on the series, she's such a total quirky trip.:bolian:

Last nights episode another intense and riveting show~

3 military guys found dead in front of a sleazy bar in gangland territory. What were they doing there and who wanted them dead? One lived for brief time and Brenda tried to get him to tell her who "did this", but he died on the operating table.

Gary Cole [haven't seen him in a while], as a Major in the military butted his nose in the case, suggesting that it was a terrorist act, but that was not the case. He was a twin of a gang member of "The Crips" called T-Ball, and the shooters were gunning for him, and mistook him for his bro.

Fritz comes in and the PHFFFT arguing begins. Major ? says "do you know her or worked with her before" He goes " I have and do" he goes "she needs a good lay" Fritz goes "I don't think that's the problem"

So they pick up the twin and he blames the other murder [killing in a mini-mart] in ths show on a gang guy called Reggie. T-Ball asks for police protection for his mom and sister and himself, which Brenda promises, if he "tells her the truth about all the murders" he does, but he's a lying sack of s...Bottom line T-Ball shot the store owner and the little boy and, and blamed it on Reggie.

Pope apologizes to Brenda for his behavior earlier, she just smiles.:)

So Brenda and part of her team takes T-Ball back to his house and drops him off. he freaks out, and they sit in the car for a bit, then she orders what's-his-face to dirve away. Th gang starts surrounding him and his house, they drive away and that's it:eek:So we don't know what happend to him.. trippy ending~

I just love the new season. I absolutely adore the interplay between Brenda Leigh and Chief Pope over the promotion thing. It's pretty clear that she doesn't give a rat's arse about becoming chief, she just put her name in because Captain Raydor wanted ther to.

Oh, and BTW, I know exactly what happened to T-ball, so did Brenda. That's why she just left him at his house, because, think about it. Firstly, he killed the Convenience store clerk, and his 8 year old Grandson, when it was common knowledge that they were not to be touched. Furthermore, he got his Twin brother killed, as well as his friends. That's five people he's responsible for, and you can tell he didn't care a fig about it. So, yeah, he was in violation of the code of conduct for doing that, so the rest of the gang is going to "take care of him." so that he won't do anything like that again.

That's why I love Brenda Leigh. She's just so completely and utterly ruthless when she wants to be. She knew that the police couldn't do anything, so she has the gang take care of it. And I'm sure they did. That's why Gabriel didn't want to leave, because everyone in that car knew what was going to happen next, as did everyone on the street, including T-ball. That's why he was so scared.

All in all, one of the best episodes of the show. I'm so glad that Kyra got the Emmy, because that will surely inject a lot of good stuff into the show. Onwards and upwards from here.

I'd imagine that does happen in real life. I'm glad TPTB had the guts to show it. So many police procedurals portray every "honorable" police official as always following the letter of the law. I'd imagine many of them who'd usually uphold the law would do exactly the same thing if faced with the outcome of such a horrific crime as the death of a child. You know in your heart every viewer wanted to see that guy pay for his crime, especially since he showed no remorse. I really love this show because it also goes a little comedic in most episodes, relieving the potential for depression.

Oh, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Mary McDonnell in tonight's episode.
