Least: 5 - too blurry, face and background have alomost the same colour 6 - too bright, very screaming colours 8 - Valera looks too yellow, contrast is missing Best: 9 - good cropping, it's simply but I like this 7 - love the idea if thr cropping and the background, the fonts fits marvelous with the complete icon

It's a really fun background and the black-and-white part itself is very well-done, but I don't think the background and foreground (I think that's what it's called...) really work together. The background overwhelms Valera and makes her look more grey and dull. I think the black-and-white Valera would work better with a much duller background and that the background would work better with a brighter Valera. Also, there's a strange maroon-ish line intruding on Valera's face. 5. The background is fitting and gives her a certain really nice graceful, almost peaceful feel, but she looks too grey, especially in comparison to the much brighter background, and the text is pixely and hard to read. I think if she was a tad brighter and the background a tad darker, it would work better. 6. It's a cool effect with the bright car-type light in the dark, and that really fits with the surprised look on her face, but I think you took the brightness on her face a bit too far, making it harder to really see the detail on her face and making her face blend in a bit too much with the light itself (hope that makes sense). Faves: 3. I absolutely love the coloring in this pic! It's also an interesting crop and the font has the perfect blend of classiness and sass, making it fit perfectly. The black text over the brighter coloring works well too. 7. I love the texture and the idea. The font and texture make it very fun, and it has a fun feeling of a candid yearbook photo. I also love how well the brighter colors are maintained and still work next to the rustier textured and darker background space. Still, all of these are beautiful! :drool:

Re: Talk LIMS #7: Round 8 - Voting! gosh, what a hards choices I've to do, all icons are awesome, sorry to all talented artists, no one should be eliminated... *wakes up* wait, but this is a challenge right? :lol: Least Quality: 10 - I think the backgroung doesn't really fits there and it's overkilling Valera 05- The font is a little too pixely and the background is almost in the same color than Valera; 06- Too brightness on it Best quality: 01 - I love it, the coloring and crop are really interesting! 07- The texture fits really nice!

Least: 10 - I do like the black and white and color, but there is too much of a contrast for the background color is too bright. 5 - There is an over all graininess to the icons and the text is hard to read. 7 - The texture over Valera distracts from the over all icon. The icon is kinda devided into two parts instead of being one balanced icon 06 - Valera is pretty bright in contrast to the background which wouldn't be a bad thing in general, but she is too bright and you can hardly make out details of her face Best 01 - Awesome! Valera looks so smooth and the text is placed very well 04 - Nice sharpness, not oversharpened. The frame texture goes well with the icon and the light effect adds a nice touch to it
