i will be heading down to grenada and be out of canada for the longest time in my life, 4 months in a row

What's the weather currently like over your side of the Pond?

hot! very very hot. And not just hot, but humid as well, so it is like a sauna right now. Bring your shorts and sunscreen. Niagara falls is nice, you should check out the fallsview casino (i saw Gary Sinise's band there ), it is fancy, and has some great restaurants.

I'll be spending 16 days in your beautiful country, staying mainly just outside Toronto, but I'll also be visiting Niagara Falls for 3 days and possibly Montreal as well.

It's been about 10 years since I've been to any of those places, but they're all beautiful in their own ways, and great places to visit. Have a wonderful trip!

it should be nice, but i promised Jacquie i wouldnt rub it in when i was on a beach while south western ontario was buried under three feet of snow :lol:

its funny all the times ive been through niagra as a child we never really did the touristy things. we would stop there on our way home from skiing in ellicotville new york. usually to get fudge for a snack in the car. i have never been on the maid of the mist, or even to marine land its my goal to make it there eventually, if only to pet a beluga whale

Now as to visiting the Niagara area. I've visited the Falls but like allmaple I've never done the tourist stuff. Hey I've never even done the CN Tower in Toronto or Canada's Wonderland It's funny but when I go to other cities I have a tendency to do the tourist things there but when it's close to home.... that's a different story

Oh yeah, sounds nice to me, especially when it's rainy and horrible over here in Northern Ireland... You seen Gary Sinise's band there!? What a way to make me jealous!! :lol: Thanks for the tip though.

I've been to Marine land the last time I visited Canada, that was 9 years ago, but I think we're going again this time, I really enjoyed it, the last time, I didn't get to go on the Maid of the Mist, my Mom isn't good with boats, but my Dad's promised me we'll get to go on it this time.

I've been up the CN Tower and to Canada's Wonderland on my previous visits, but I was pretty young, so I don't really remember, but both are on the Agenda for this visit. I'm excited about the glass floor in the CN tower and all the rollercoasters in Canada's Wonderland.

Have any of you guys been to Casa Loma, I'm hoping to visit here on my trip... It looks beautiful, and seeing as I enjoy history (not that I know any Canadian history... :lol, I think it'd be interesting...

Yes I've been but it's been many many years since I've been there.

Another site for history if you enjoy historical aspects of cities is Old Fort York. This is in Toronto and it deals with the founding of York which later became Toronto. It deals a lot with the war of 1812. Again it's been years since I've been there but as I said if you enjoy history it's worth it.

There also the Metro Toronto Zoo. I know you've seen one zoo you've seen them all but it is a good place to visit.

i was at casa loma as part of a grade 7 (i think? maybe 6...) trip after going to medieval times. i dont remember much about it, just that we were goofing off a bit to much...

i havent been to the toronto zoo in about 6 years, but it is a very good zoo. but i enjoy zoos, i think the toronto zoo is pretty good for the animals. when i was in chicago you could tell the big cats and the lincoln park zoo were not happy but better there than dead i say.

i want to try to get to the zoo this summer, my little cousin lives right by it and my mom and i always say we will visit to take her but it never happens. this summer they have a sting ray exhibit, i love petting the sting rays. its such a strange feeling!

i do like the royal ontario museum as well, when i was there in november i was just a bit too early for the darwin exhibit and the big dinosaur gallery they have added. always enjoy the bird room though

Y'know, it occurred to me a little while ago that I'm the same way. But I recently did Canada's Wonderland, and I didn't do Marine Land or the Maid of the Mist until my second trip to Niagara Falls. Adorable_Crazy, if you do end up doing the Maid of the Mist, DO NOT underestimate how wet you will get. The CN Tower was a school trip thing, but it was....about 11 years ago, so I don't remember much about it. I do remember though, that the glass floor is nothing compared to the one in the Calgary Tower. Fort York was also a school thing, and Lord was that boring. I like history and all, but I was young at the time too, so I didn't fully understand it, and we went several times so it got kinda repetitive. I've never been to Casa Loma though. And the only time I went to Ontario Place was to watch a movie for my geography class. So I guess it kinda balances out. There's still some stuff I should do that I haven't.

Hey guys.

Here in London we just had a gigantic storm and there was hail. The rain was pouring down so hard and I opened the door and all the rain and hail came flying in. I took some pictures.



Oh and since I know some of y'all live in Toronto, is anyone by any little chance going to the Coldplay concert on July 30th?

Wow sandersidle that's some good size hail pieces you had. We've had one hail storm back in June and it left one of our screens with golf ball size holes. I'm glad the windows were closed that day We've had a wetter that usual summer so far. Everything is a lot greener this year than last year. A favourite item to talk on walks these day is the umbrella. You never know when mother nature will let go with some rain.

I'm excited in a few of weeks I have some family coming up from the states, so I'm going to the Toronto zoo with a couple of people so I don't have to spend as much time with my crazy family

In general I have gone to most the touristy attractions. My friends and I actually pretended to be tourists from Buffalo one day in downtown Toronto. We even went into a souvenir shop right next to the CN tower and asked them where the CN tower was. Due to the fact that we couldn't find it because we were told by our American friends it was next to the skydome, and all we could find was the Rogers center :lol::lol::lol:

:wtf: i didnt get hail in my part of london! there was a torrential down pour for like 5 minutes, but then it let up to normal rain. weather is strange...

Thank god someone else is gettin rain as well It's been nightmare here, there's just water everywhere... on Tue it rained bit over 30millimetres and it's basicly rained during the whole July... in June city some 40kms from here got rain 117millimetres.
Such a horrible summer.

Toronto has jsut become the wettest city in Canada this year

Environment Canada guru Dave Phillips says that we are wetter than the traditional wet spots like Halifax and Prince Rupert. We still have August to go but just like the winter I'm sure we'll add some more rain to the forecast.

Toronto Rainfall breaks record

Oh did I mention we had rain over night and rain is in the forecast for this afternoon :scream: I've only had to water my garden once since I planted it in June.
