"SQWEEGEL" Discussion **Spoilers**

Did anyone else think about that he was "spiderman's evil twin"? I swear that thought popped into my head a coupld of times when I saw him walking on all fours like that, plus the outfit kind of reminded me of Venom's costume.
Seriously, I was thinking Spiderman a bit. I thought his freaky moves made him that much more creepy.

Yes i thouhgt that he was looking like Venom with that costume too. :D

I don't know if Zuiker did it on purpose but Sqweegel is the most ''creepy but funny'' killer in CSI history i think. He makes me laugh and nervous .

Defiantly interesting how that guy can move. Something tells me this "Ian Moone" thing is going to be on-going. I am interested to see how it plays out.

It's not going to be ongoing. There is no plans to have him on CSI again.
That's disappointing in a way to just drop the story line. They should bring it back at some point later in the season, the episode just didn't feel like it was over for good.

I didn't mind the ending, because in real life people can get away with murder without leaving evidence. I like the realism.

It felt like the end of a horror movie where they set it up for a sequel. Haha Sqweegel the Sequel. That sounds funny. :D Seriously, I expected him to say "I'll be back"... and yeah, I know that's a Terminator line, not a horror movie line, but even still...

I agree people get away with murder all the time, but I guess Sqweegel seems to me to be a more of a serial murderer, than a one shot (or 2 shot) killer. His planning and patience in carrying out the kills appeared more than an 'okay I've taken care of that problem' deal'. I'm sure the character will continue his quest to kill more 'do-gooders who aren't really do-gooders'. I would love to know what made him who he is, how he discovered the secrets of his victims, etc.

I won't be following him in any books or websites, so I guess I feel a tad bit let down. I think this might have been a great 2-hour, sweeps week episode, IF they had delved a little more into the background of the killer. I could have felt more satisfied, even with him getting away, if I'd had more information on his reasons, etc.

BUT I did love the episode for the interactions of the core characters of the show. When writing for the regular characters I'd like more of the same!!! :bolian:

That's pretty much what I ended up watching it for. Perhaps because of knowing about him beforehand from spoilers, Sqweegel didn't interest or frighten me at all. I realized about the fourth time watching it, I'd gotten so disinterested by the car-wash scene that I actually hadn't realized how graphic it was (I watch on my computer's second monitor, and do other stuff - like reading forums :D - on the main screen).

I really liked the interactions between the regular characters - the only thing that would have made it better for me would have been having Sara there too (but still with equal time for everyone else - she could have Sqweegel's screentime!).

First and foremost big kudos to Anthony Zuiker for this episode:bolian:

My summary~

Someones attacking Margot-why? Ann-Margaret played this role to a tea. She's a good actress and look's great for 70:eek:

Team at the mansion, nice digs. Great to have Brass in this one~

Cath and Ray upstairs, Picture of kid with pieces all over the floor Cath: "'Everything is upside down" Ray: It's up to us to make it right side up"

Nick and Greg collecting evidence Greg finds tiny window, which apparently the perp. climbed through~

Nick to Ray "Does this make any sense"? Ray: "No, but I'll bet it makes sense to him"

Ray and Margot at hospital a little flirty banter, the eye contact. Her describing her attacker. Ray taking out the stiches. OUCH. Margot :"Don't you doctors and police ever talk to each other and wouldn't it have been better if that "cute" resident had of done this"? Ray: "He was just doing his job, & I'm doing mine, what's the mater I'm not cute"? Takes pic. say "I'm cute" Margot "Go to hell"

Greg discovers that this creep has been living in the attic. Nick finds he's been reading her mail. Nick and Cath turn over the bed and thinks they've been sleeping together:(

Team at the lab. Hour-glass of evidence and drawing Ray give his theories and [before anyone slams him, he's not a bumbling idiot, but smart and the writers give him this dialogue, which he delivers with such precision] They ALL give their input on who and why!

Fill the hourglass and find the "TRUTH" Hodges in lab, he's so good in this area, and finds suspect sprayed on Latex~

Cath and Nick in "sex shop" guy gives them his name IAN MOONE~

Ray runs name through data base, no match, breaks down the name and comes up with I AM NO ONE Ray and his exotic sexy eyes and lucious lips:p

Car wash with woman and her little girl and freak slashes her to death and then faces girl she screams:scream:

Brass talking to the little girls doll, because she's so traumatized. come up with SQWEEGEL the sound the car foam strips make when going through the car wash. dad comes to pikc up girl . Super Dave, she'd been attacted prior, the graphics are so fantastic on this show. Husband tells Brass that his wife was recently appointed to "Family Values Commitee", which she wasn't really being true to.~

Ray to Doc "Both were killed by the same person. They find CD under her bed and her frockling with her paramour, must to the ahasted husband. It was great to see Brass..Nick..Greg..and Ray all working together. SQWEEGEL wanted these women to repent. who the H was he to judge them?

Margot released from hospital with the real Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman. When I lived in Vegas, I saw him one time eating lunch with his cronies at the Palms resor/casino. I wanted to get his autograph, but his area was roped off with tweo security guards. I saw him, but he didn't see me. He's a very colorful guy and very popular mayor in this city~

He goes to Brass "she's a friend, sorry about the bark, but if you go over my head I'll kill you":alienblush:

Gawd, he's waiting for her, and she goes upstairs to get her "secret letters" and he attacks her again:wtf: what a slimy..slinky, slithering snake and he walks like a big black bug:klingon:

So Ray finds the paramedic who was dressed like "Sqweegel" and he's been setting fires, that's his secret. How did he escape~ Ray :"I think the answer is in the wind"

Shows him with his black Latex on and we still don't know what he looks like or who he is and says I'M NO ONE:cardie:

Good episode and so different look's like this character will return.. my grade A~

This is the best episode so far! Thanks to Mr. Zuiker for doing a superb episode.

The
- Nice references to past: Nick's stalker and Grissom. I still  whenever I watched 'To Halved and To Hold' (am I right?) where Grissom licked a piece of skull  and  at Catherine's facial reaction! Oh, good old days, I miss you!
- The case is very interesting. I didn't fall asleep and that's always a plus.
- Balanced screentime. If it can be done in this episode, why not in the future?
- Great acting from Ann-Margret. I hope she earns another Emmy nomination and win.

The
- Sqweegel! Creepy at its best. The way he walks, talks, his shadow in the first scene everything!

The
- Cath and Nick in the sex shop! The man should know when to shut up!
- Cath, Nick and Greg's reaction to Ray's hour glass lecture! Like the "duh, who doesn't know about that" or "here we go again" or "not again" faces!
- Brass talked to the doll though it's a sad moment for the kid.

The
- Uhm..., ok, let me think. Ok, I can't so for the sake of filling this up. Sqweegel wasn't caught! It's realistic for me.

A+ 10/10

I loved this episode! I really like the killer. He was creepy and smart. I liked Raymond's hour glass lecture. I took a forensics class and we were taught that. I like Margot in this one. She did a great job. I hope they bring him back.

I liked this one. Not as much as Pool Shark and Shock Waves, but I did like it a lot more than last weeks Ray/Nick Saga.

What I loved:

-Cath on the prowl...erm, scene. Nice to see they had her out in the field, investigating WITH her team instead of more back at the lab. I really liked how nicely she and Greg and she and Nick worked together. And the fact she got to get dirty. It may seem silly, but I love the scene where Greg and her are talking in the room, and she stands up and kind of groans. Nice nod to how long Cath has been working as a CSI, and how she is still working hard (if that makes sense. I just woke up and am struggling to put thoughts together).

-The carwash sequence all around. That was incredibly creepy and scary and intense. I thought for sure that he was gonna kill the little girl too. I loved Greg and Cath getting carwashed too.

-Brass and the little girl. I love how Paul is able to work with pretty much everyone and is able to bring some comedy to a dark matter. "Hello doll. My name is James." Only Brass.

-Balanced screentime: Hmm. Interesting how satisfied people can be when the scale isn't tipped in one person's favor...thank you Mr. Zuiker for showing that.

-"Time to get kinky!" LOL Oh, Hodges. How you deliver.

-References to past episodes. Gave it an old school feel.

-Ann Margaret. Did a good job and my homegirl Caryn Mower probably had a few bruises after those scenes.

-Lady and her gun. :D I think CSI's have pulled their guns more in this season than in like the past two combined. I like seeing tough CSI's though.

What I liked Not So Much:

-Ray's Hourglass theory...my reaction was pretty much the same as Cath/Nick/Greg. Like, was that really necessary? Seemed really out of place and pointless to me.

-The fact that Ray, with his cane (that's a  in it's own) went upstairs UNARMED and ALONE to look for Sqweegel. Like, clearly, we didn't learn our lesson from the whole Nate Haskell thing? And how in the hell did Ray (who still needs a cane to walk) manage to lift a bed, alone, and by himself, to find the paramedic under the bed? COME ON.

That's pretty much it for me. It was a pretty good episode. Love seeing Zuiker writing the characters the way that they should be written.

You always make sense, my dear! ;)

I very much agree. It's great to see Cath getting into the 'dirtiness' of processing a scene again - and for a long period of time - when she, as supervisor, could have just passed off the dirty job to someone else. It reminded me of when she, Nick & Sara had to go to the garbage landfill to search for evidence, or in "Down the Drain" when Gil told her that she & Warrick had to process the storm drains and she asked "Can't we at least draw straws?".

I did think this was a good episode, but I wouldn't want to see this slasher/horror flic genre frequently on CSI. I thought the car wash scene was pretty graphic (reminded me a little of the shower scene in Psycho), and may have been a turn-off for some.
I thought Ann-Margret did a credible job.
Greg had some quality screen time.
Ray's scenes were pretty cheesey, I thought. It seems that we have to be reminded constantly that he is a doctor and a professor, of sorts. And the cane? A ridiculous prop.
I wouldn't mind if Sqweegel returns, but I don't want it dragged out too long, or be yet another serial killer nemesis for Ray. I don't plan on reading the books, so I would like some realistic explanation as to how he targets his victims. (Like in Dexter, another vigilante serial killer.)
The ratings are very similar to Criminal Minds, which is probably the type of audience that the promos attracted.
Personally, I'm looking much more forward to next week's episode.
