But I do make a point to never watch Lost Son again. Its just an all around upsetting episode. ... but maybe he could have transfered or something.

I've never had a dream about Lost Son either (thank Gawd!) but I agree, couldn't they have just done something else, like shown him quitting & after all his accumulated overtime, decided to travel? Or that he was burned out & decided to find a different career? I would've preferred being a fan in suspense, wondering if he would decide to come back, than to see him die & be forgotten in the next episodes.

Exactly how I feel.

Either that, or if they did decide to kill him off, maybe he should have died saving little Joey. Of course Ann Donahue would have fainted because Horatio didn't get that five seconds of screentime. I mean, I love the guy but he should let someone else be the hero for once.

Awww I can see that scene so perfectly. Speed drives up to Hells Bay. And he looks at Joey and he's all like "Its alright. I'm coming to get you." and like Ken Timmons...(was that his name? whoa its amazing i've seen this episode a zillion times and I forget the karate teachers name) comes out of no where and Speed grabs little Joey and pushes him out of the way, and then he takes the bullet for little Joey. I mean...come on donahue. Its not that hard.

Exactly. And I swear, great minds think alike. That's what I was thinking should have happened. It would have been perfect and then I would sleep better at night knowing Donahue didn't completely ruin his character by making him 'sloppy' which he WASN'T.

I completely agree with speedmonkey2 and Speed_Cochrane. If he had to die (which he didn't), that's how it should have happened. The fans would be happier, at the very least. And RC might have been too. I think he said he wasn't all that happy with the way they wrote him out.

Its like we all have one brain in here.

I definitely agree though. Rory would have been happier knowing a character he played for two years wouldn't have been completely discarded as some sloppy and messy person with no work ethic...Come on, Speed was one of the most responsible CSIs.

When I saw it, I always thought that he could've at least died saving Horatio, like push him out of the way and take the bullet that was meant for him. That way Donahue doesn't faint because H still gets the screentime, and the fans don't think the writers are complete morons.

But since they are morons (well, at least some of them), that was the episode we got

Well if you want to get 'techincal' about it. Speed kinda did save Horatio because he saw the gunmen first before H did. And at the end of lost son does Horatio say "You saved me?" or "He saved?" because "he saved me" sounds right....well to me anyway.

And yeah Rory wasn't happy with it I believe he said "I thought it was pretty lame". But yeah Speed wasn't sloppy persay. I think he learned his lesson the first time. Or you know he could be undercover or something right now and they used Dispo Day against him for his cover up story and were all getting angry over nothing? lol.

Well, speedmonkey2, I've always thought it was fairly obvious that he's just undercover... but if everyone on the show has to think he's dead, they could have at least let him 'die' a hero... :) lol

When I first saw Lost Son, I thought that Horatio said "He saved me" and I thought 'oh yeah, that makes sense', but then I checked the transcript and it said "You saved me" so now when I watch it, I'm not too sure.

But I agree, it's pretty obvious that he is undercover or in witness protection...I mean, if we can pick it, surely the writers can

Yes, I too think he should've died a hero. I've only seen Lost Son twice. The second time by accident on A&E. I'm still slowly watching old episodes, trying not to reach THAT particular episode. :(

You know, I dreamt that? That the CIA or FBI or something shot him and then covered it up because they wanted him for some top-secret mission. H will probably find him in Cuba with Ray or something.

What can I say, I'm in total Speedle denial!

Well Carly, you know I was watching the episode in subtitles one day and in the beginning when H looks down from the bridge the subtitles say "Just another day in paradise" coming from Horatio. But I know I didn't actually hear him say that. So in the locker room he could have actually said "He saved me." But I dunno *shrugs* The whole "he saved me" just makes more sense. But thats just me.
