Speed/Rory #7: 'Speed Is The Name Of The Game'

Ok guys...so shall we start with 'Cross Jurisdictions'?

Some questions:

How would you rate this episode? (5=Loved it! 1=Meh!)

What are some of your favorite Speed moments from the episode?

What were your overall impressions of the episode?

Now these are just a few questions to get the discussion started, and once again, this doesn't mean that we have to stick strictly to episode discussion, we can still discuss Rory and his movies like normal, I'm just hoping that this will give us a bit more to discuss. ;)

I'll add my comments in a bit, as I don't want to make this post too hard to follow.
 
hmm. i give the ep a 3.5...i liked it overall, because Miami and Las Vegas are my two faves, but there wasn't nearly enough Speed screen time...and i know that there was lots of characters that needed introducing, but still!...
my favourite Speed moment from that ep was when Delko was in the water looking for the gun...i believe the scene went like this:

SPEED: Delko, you've been down there for 45 minutes. Do you know the level of bacteria in the water? You can get all kinds of infections. What do you got?
DELKO: Water pistol. One water-logged beretta knock-off.
SPEED: Suspect's personal gun?
DELKO: That's it.
SPEED: Congratulations.
DELKO: I'll put it over the wires that he's not carrying that Taurus anymore.
SPEED: Do that, and take a shower.
DELKO: Nice shoes.

that line, "Do that, and take a shower" had me laughing so much :lol:...that scene is the first glimpse we see of the Speed/Delko friendship...i just love that scene..

and i really love the Lucas hair in this ep...when i saw the episode "golden parachute" i couldn't remeber which one he was, cause he had the stubble and the longer hair

I loved that scene...it was so funny, I really liked the begining when everyone was being introduced at the hotel....
and speed was telling H. he had just scene a fed and at the end he said something like "Or he could just be some geriatric dude, who enjoys the weather." or something like that....it was hilarious.

HORATIO CAINE: I was there opening night.

TIM SPEEDLE: I didn't see you there.

Haha, Oh man dont even get me started on that scene with eric, speed, and the shoes! I LOVE that scene, and the scene with him and Horatio and that little smile he did....so cute. ANd I loved how he did that little hand gesture when he said "Yeah, his little headphones on, his..little tie." GOd I love that man. All though I will have to admit I didn't like him that white shirt he had on I prefer him in the dress shirts, and when they were are the Corwins house and speed had to call air and sea did anybody notice how much hair he had on his arms? Geez. lol.

I would rate this episode....4. OH and one more thing when the print out for the version of Adam Vandervelk came in from las vegas and Catherine says "Girl saw a monster, show girl saw a husband, this guy can be anybody." did anybody think the version of adam from the girl looked like speed? or was that just me?

Speed: Do that and take a shower?

I would rate this episode a 4. There just wasn't enough Speed and we don't even get to see him until they are at the Shore Club.

I have no other favorite Speedle quotes to mention...everybody has alreay said them. :lol: I need to rewatch that eppy again. :D

yeah, i thought that too...when my brother and I rewatched the ep after Miami had already come on, when we saw that printout, we both, simutaneously said "Is that Speed?"... :lol: ah, it was funny, cause my brother said it too, and he usually makes fun of me for my CSI obsession... :lol:
 
Cross-Jurisdictions eh?

... I give it out of 5...10! This was actually my favorite CSI episodes (CSI:Crime Scene Investigation) :lol:

Speed's character was very different in this episode (C-J). He was happier, a little...heavier, the t-shirt wearing, hair-gelled to forehead, clean shaven kind of guy. It was a huge contrast from Golden Parachute where he was a little more sarcastic and ...well I wouldn't say angry, more of just plain miserable in some parts. He had the stubble, spikey hair, layered shirt (Dress shirt-ish near the end) and he was more realistic as a person. The Tim Speedle in Cross Jurisdictions was too...bubbly. I could never see the same character all the way through all the seasons. Anyway, back to the topic of the episode, my favorite quote was:

Speed: Or you know it could be just some geriatric dude who digs the weather.

:lol: Teehee there's the Tim Speedle I love. I actually didn't even know his name for about 8 episodes...Yeah well it sounds stupid but when all they say is 'Speed' you can't really find out the name. Of course they did say it in Cross Jurisdictions but I probably wasn't paying attention. Oh, did I mention I didn't actually even like Speedle until..Dispo Day? HA. That is a laugh and a half.
 
i was just watching the ep again, and i realised that the sunglasses that Speed is wearing in the scene where Delko is retrieving the car and the scene where Delko is retrieving the gun, are the same sunnies that Lucas is wearing in the opening scene of Empire Records...well, i think they are the same...if they're not, then they're very similar :D
 
This is going better than I had hoped it would. :D I have enjoyed reading everyone's comments about "Cross-J's" (as I call it, lol).

I apologize for not posting my thoughts last night, I'm getting over the flu, and I still get tired pretty easily.

I also give the episode a 5, I really loved it! I've said before that I've seen the Miami episodes somewhat out of order. I started watching about a year and a half ago when I came across S1 on A&E, I'd missed the first couple episodes, and I hadn't yet seen "Cross-J's". I did manage to catch it shortly thereafter on SpikeTv, though. What is so cool to me about the episode is it's the first inception of these characters, and it's neat to see the way they were changed and fleshed out a bit by the time we get to 'Golden Parachute'. I'll admit I was shocked by the differences in Speed, and while 'C-J' Speed is adorable, I have to agree with Geni...I much prefer the more sarcastic Speed.

As far as favorite quotes/scenes...I think y'all already listed my favorites, the one where Speed's on the dock and Delko's diving for the gun, and the one from the lab that Chez mentioned with H and Speed.

I agree though with you Jen, the sarcastic Speed is more to my liking...even if you were agreeing with me first, I feel the need to say it again. :)

Oh oh oh pick me pick me * raises hand* dang it I did it again...i'm such a loser.

My favorite speed line from this eppy would have to be

Speed: Your an ass!
ERic: What did I do?
Speed: She lost her husband what are they supposed to give her 2 weeks off?
Eric: Sorry, I didn't know
Speed: Well there's alot you don't know

I LOVE that man! Damn the man!

Hmmm...I'd have to rate this eppy a 3, just because I kinda thought the storyline was a little boring, I mean I expect something bigger for there first actual episode, I mean it was just kinda cliche, I guess you can say. But of course that is just my opinion.

And when Speed was taking the pictures and he asked Eric if he was ok. Again, that shows that speed wasn't just the saracastic jerk some people thought he was, I mean I can think of 4 episodes off the top of my head, Gp, C-j, extreme, and Dispo day. Just to name a few.

And another thing when he was taking the photo of the man's wallet and there was a picture of a family inside of it, and he kinda looks at it first, Boy that gets me everytime!

And just one more thing before I sign off here, but the theme song being different? Sooooo glad they changed it to what it is now. I just thought it was weird.
