Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe
I absolutely loved The Primg Gig. Not only was Rory fantastic in that movie, but I really wanted to know what happened to his character after the movie. Joel was such an interesting character, and provided much of the comic relief, like many other of Rory's roles. (Sunset Strip, Dazed and Confused, A Scanner Darkly, Love and A .45, Empire Records)
And I'm probably biased for The Prime Gig, seeing as Rory was naked in one scene.
 (It was in the tub but I don't care. There was full frontal chest shots)
I also loved the scene where he was drunk, and the scene where he was crying. There was such a huge range of emotions that his character went through, even though he was in the movie for a minimal amount of time. He also stole every scene that he was in. That's very hard to do especially when you play a small role, and it's an Independant Film.
And there's one thing I
have to suggest if anyone here has the chance to rent or buy Sunset Strip (onward to my next favorite movie!) is listen to the sound of his voice near the end of the movie. Gosh that man could narrarate anything and I'd listen.
It's hard to describe, but like I've said before, his voice just commands one to listen.
Anyway, that's my analysis for the night...I could talk for hours about Rory and his roles, but my brain is shutting off.
