Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

I kind of liked how he had a dress shirt in that movie. :D And at the end he had stubble and a dress shirt. Our little police officer grew up. *sigh*

*hoses down calleighspeedle*

I think this thread needs a picture to keep in our heads for a while. ;)

any time he has stubble that man looks sexy. hes definitely one of the few who can pull it off.

*pets screen* aww look at the pretty. thanks for the pic

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

 Don't you just want to pet his stubble?

Um...So now that I've stopped being such a Speedybopper...

One of the very few movies I've ever really appreciated was Love and A .45. His acting was phenominal in that movie, so I suggest to anyone who can either buy it or find it to please watch it. Rory played one of the most dynamic characters I've ever seen, and he did it so well. I couldn't imagine another actor playing the part.

And, well his gun worked in that movie. ;)

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

thats like the only one of his movies i haven't seen, well that and right at your door. i can never find it any where. but all the rory fans i know say its one if his best performances. i need to buy it from amazon or something.

and beautiful pics! is it so terrible to love a man in a beige jumpsuit?

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

Thanks for the pictures calleighspeedle. They're very lovely! Especially the first one.

Don't worry fo_poozle, there are a few Rory movies I haven't seen yet. Those would include: Right At Your Door, The Low Life, and Dogtown.

But I figure any Rory performance is top notch. Even if he's given such a nothing character, he brings it to life whether it's the most hated character on the screen, or the most lovable character. He always puts in 110% for all of his performances, and I really appreciate that in an actor. :)

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

as do i.
he reminds me a lot of james dean in a sense that he owns his characters. and coming form me thats a pretty big compliment.
in the prime gig, he was so good in that even tho he was only on screen for maybe a total of 15 minutes at the most.he was fantastic.

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

I absolutely loved The Primg Gig. Not only was Rory fantastic in that movie, but I really wanted to know what happened to his character after the movie. Joel was such an interesting character, and provided much of the comic relief, like many other of Rory's roles. (Sunset Strip, Dazed and Confused, A Scanner Darkly, Love and A .45, Empire Records)

And I'm probably biased for The Prime Gig, seeing as Rory was naked in one scene. :D  (It was in the tub but I don't care. There was full frontal chest shots)

I also loved the scene where he was drunk, and the scene where he was crying. There was such a huge range of emotions that his character went through, even though he was in the movie for a minimal amount of time. He also stole every scene that he was in. That's very hard to do especially when you play a small role, and it's an Independant Film.

And there's one thing I have to suggest if anyone here has the chance to rent or buy Sunset Strip (onward to my next favorite movie!) is listen to the sound of his voice near the end of the movie. Gosh that man could narrarate anything and I'd listen. It's hard to describe, but like I've said before, his voice just commands one to listen. ;)

Anyway, that's my analysis for the night...I could talk for hours about Rory and his roles, but my brain is shutting off.

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

i know so did i! especially after vince vaughn just left him there! to be honest with you the 1st time i watched it i yelled at the tv lol. but anywhoodle we can make fun of me another day, i quite enjoyed the bath scene too. and not just because he was nakey in a bathtub but the whole feel of the scene was fantastic and i loved how he had tear stains on his face.
sunset strip is an awesome movie, and i love his voice i could listen to him talk forever too.

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

Man... I have got to see more of his movies. I'm working on it though. He's such a great actor.

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

Ah there is plenty of time to find all the Rory movies on the planet, and all the new projects that he's doing. Isn't it great that he's back on TV? It's just that well...First of all its a Miniseries, and secondly it's in Canada. (Nothing wrong with that of course. ;))

I believe they've finished shooting the Miniseries already, because they were to be finished sometime at the end of September, but I'll look into things and get back to you guys on that.

As for his next role, what would you guys like to see him play?

Personally I'd like him to play more of a villan than a hero. It's always great to see the range of characters that he's able to play, and being the bad guy is certainly one of them. (Especially in Love and A .45) It would be so interesting to compare say, a character much like 'Speedle' to a more ruthless bad guy.

But I'm just throwing ideas around. ;)

They finished shooting in Canada and i think they are in Hungary right now to continue. Unfortunately no shooting in Germany though parts of the book are based in Berlin :(

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

In reference to Black & White aka 'Rory Porn'... here is the listing of the next airtimes for those who have yet to see it:

Thu Oct 5 01:30A on Thrillermax
Sun Oct 8 10:00P on Thrillermax
Fri Oct 13 03:30A on Thrillermax
Tue Oct 17 08:20P on Thrillermax
Sat Oct 28 02:00A on Thrillermax

It did just recently air on HBO2 which is how I ended up watching it for the first time ever last week. My reaction to the movie...well to put it simply, *thud*. Heh.

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

i watched it last week on hbo2 as well. i stayed up til 3 am when i had class the next day. normally i wouldn't reccomend it but it was all to see rory.

i think he would make a greaat villian too. definitely something like a psychological thriller maybe. but not a corny one where its all blood and bad scripting.

Re: Speed/Rory #8: 'Who Needs Substance D When We Have Spe

Yeah I agree. I'd like to see a movie where he's one of those intellectual phsychopaths on a murder tangent. - Or something to that effect. ;)

Thanks for the showtimes Kasandra! Unfortunately, I don't have HBO2, or Thrillemax so I can't watch the movie on those channels. Then again, I own the movie. :p
