Snicker RP- Open

He smiled and opened her door. She seemed a bit unsteady, though, so he came to her side, helping her down. "You okay? Easy, easy." He pulled her into him. "It's okay. I've got you."

Her hands resting lightly on his chest, she noted how safe and loved she felt with his arms tightly around her.
She led him to the sofa and tugged him down next to her, instantly curling up close to him and burying her head into his neck. She was now contemplating how she loved everything about him - his aftershave definitely worked wonders for him. She couldn't get close enough. But, of course, that wasn't just because of the aftershave.

He shifted a little. He noticed she was shaking. "What is it, Sara?" He hated seeing her in this pain. He always had. He held her tighter, hoping she'd want to talk about it.

"Just a little cold."
She lied. Really, she was still seeing him in that box. She knew she was going to have a nightmare when she fell asleep - anytime she thought about it whilst she was awake, it always invaded her dreams and she woke up in a cold sweat, tears streaking her cheeks, sobbing.
"I wanna go to sleep, but...I don't at the same time."
She said in a quiet voice, knowing he'd understand.

He nodded. "I'll be right here," he whispered. "Just relax. I'll be here if you need me." He squeezed her shoulder. "Try to close your eyes. Like I said before, I won't leave."

Before she let her eyes close, she made sure her fingers were firmly linked with his - like a safety rope to the real world that could pull her back to consciousness if she got in too deep. Then she gently leaned up and placed a featherlight kiss on his cheek.
"Thankyou Nick."
She said on a sigh, leaning her head back against his shoulder and hesitantly letting her eyes close. They shot open two seconds later and it took her a couple minutes to clear the images.
It took her three attempts to close her eyes properly without bolting upright.

He held her to him. He had felt her shifting and knew she was having a rather intrusive nightmare. He'd walked in on a few of them when she had fallen asleep in the break room. He kissed her cheek, too. "No problem," he whispered. He was afraid to move, knowing she needed him now more than ever.

The nightmares trapped her, and she was in the box, screaming for Nick, terrified. There were fire ants everywhere and she kept screaming and screaming...and then she saw Grissom, standing over the box, like he had done with Nick. But his words weren't comforting this time.
"Nick's dead Sara."
He told her, no emotion in his voice. Sara thrashed wildly, desperately trying to free herself from the nigtmare.
"No!!! No h-he's not!! NICK!"
She was screaming, hot tears bruning her cheeks as she sobbed and hit out at the walls of the box. But it wasn't the walls she was hitting really.
If Nick wasn't as strong as he was, he would surely have been knocked out by her thrashing by now.

He'd fallen asleep, too, and was awakened abruptly by her screams. He held her close. "It's ok, Sara," he soothed. "I'm right here. Shh, shh. We're safe. Come on, wake up." She was shaking terribly. He kissed the top of her head. "Come on." She began to stir. "That's it, that's it," he encouraged.

Sara was sobbing hysterically, her whole body trembling as she gasped for breath.
"Oh God....Nicky I was so scared..."
She whimpered, burying her head into his chest as her sobs slowly died out. She didn't know what she'd have done if she hadn't been pulled out of that nightmare.

"It's ok now, I promise. Shhhhh. Take a deep breath. Easy, easy. Nothing can hurt us now. We're safe." He stroked her hair. He'd never seen her quite this scared before. This must have been some nightmare. "I'm right here with you."

Sara nodded and her sobs died out after a while. She didn't want to close her eyes again. She was terrified by the thought of getting sucked in by those dreams again.
"You make me feel safe..."
She whispered into the silent room. With his arms around her she felt like nothing could hurt her.

He smiled. "That's what I'm here for. Anything I can do? You still seem a lttle shaken up." She was still shaking a lttle. He shifted her so she'd be more comfortable.

Shaking her head, she stayed close to him.
"No. Just stay with me."
She pleaded.
Eventually, she managed to fall to sleep, without even realizing it. And no nightmares woke her this time.

He still held her tightly in case she got trapped again and needed pulling back. "I'm not goin' anywhere," he whispered into the silence. He watched her, relieved that she was sleeping soundly again. He soon let his own eyes close, relieved that Grissom had finally lightened up a little and given them tomorrow off. They both needed the break desperately.
