Snicker RP- Open

She felt all her tears dissolve as soon as his arms were around her and she sighed into his chest, never wanting him to let go. She clung to him without realizing it.
"I just felt so helpless seeing you in that box and...I knew I couldn't do anything to save you...or stop you being in all that pain. You always stop me being in pain and...I couldn't do the same for you..."
She whispered, the tears springing to her eyes again.

"Don't ever leave me Nicky..."
She whispered hoarsely. When she realized what she'd said, she looked up at him nervously, her eyes full of fear. She suddenly felt a knot tighten in her stomach. What if he was frightened off by that?! What if he saw her as nothing more then a best friend?
"I'm sorry, I-"

A soft sound of relief escaped her lips and she nodded weakly, still clinging to him as they stood up wearily.
"Thankyou Nicky. God, I don't know what I'd ever do without you."

She hesitated for a moment before nodding. She didn't want a Sara pity-party. But she just wanted to be with him, be in his arms and for once in her life feel safe. Even if he only loved her as a best friend she would deal with that, as long as he was in her life.

She squeezed his hand, silently thanking him for keeping her together.
"I just wanna go home and take a loooong bath and then go to bed...will you really stay with me?"
She said in a small voice and then the blush rose on her cheeks.
"I-I mean, not during the bath or anything...oh, you know what I mean."
She smiled, embarassed by her Freudian slip.

((Could ya do posts a lil longer? I just read that announcement by LadySara is all.))

Sara smiled up at him and they walked through the lab with her refusing to let go of his hand. They got some looks, especially from Grissom who stopped outside his office and removed his glasses, staring at them in shock.

During the drive back, she reached over and took his hand again.
"You mean the world to me Nicky."
She said gently.

He hadn't expected that. He was happy, though. "Sara, I- I feel the same way. I was just scared you wouldn't, so I never said anything. I hope you never thought I was shutting you out." He sighed. He hoped he'd never made her feel that way. If he had, he'd never meant to. "Sorry. Am I rambling?"

"I never felt as though you were shutting me out - you were the only one I ever trusted not to do that, and you never lost my trust. I...was afraid that you only saw me as a friend. And if you do and nothing more, then I can live with that. As long as you're in my life, because I don't know what I'd-"
She cut herself off.
"Now I'm rambling."
She gave a small laugh and laced her fingers through his, loving the tingle that it sent up her spine.

He laughed, too. "I've always seen you as more than that. Sara, you've had a special place in my heart since we met."
He cut himself off much like she had a moment earlier. He hoped he hadn't sounded too corny. He smiled at her and sqeezed her hand again.

Sara's heart skip a beat and she couldn't tear her eyes from him, her lips slightly parted in surprise.
"You have no idea what it means to me to hear you say that..."
She said in a soft voice full of emotion. She was subconsciously rubbing the top of his hand with her thumb as they pulled up outside her apartment.
