Thank you for posting that new intro. Very interesting. So it is definitely Fishburne who gets the new lead role. Still ticks me off that the new girl gets billing before Eric though. I know, I know...boy, girl, boy, girl. Still ticks me off. Eric should have been placed right after George in the line-up.

Looking forward to the premiere of the new season, but saddened that we have to wait until October.

I believe it was a hypothetical fan-created video, so no worries! :) We still have no idea what's really going to happen with the characters, billing, etc.

The credits list Fishburne and Helgenberger first as they are the male and female leads, then the rest of the CSIs in alphabetical order (which is usually the case on most show when several characters have equal roles. The real credits do the same) then the coroners/labrats/detectives/others based on longevity.

What about that Chris Owens guy or whatever his name is that's supposed to be playing a character named "SJ O'Reilly"? Is he actually gonna be on the show or was that more false info? I'm so confused. And I still think TPTB should add Archie to the opening credits too.

:sigh: I wish I could make videos. I'd make some with the people I'd like to see on the show just to see how they'd look in the opening credits. And no, those I'm referring to are not ones that I have mentioned in the "who will replace grissom" thread. :) These are lesser known actors, but ones who are very well known to me and would be good additions to the cast IMO. :) But, unfortunately I do not have the right equipment for that. Nor do I have the skill for those sorts of things.

I'm not a fan of the "Nick hears the shots and finds Rick" theory. Nick would have to hear them thru the walls, a noisy kitchen and into the dining room. If he was close enough to hear the shots, he'd be close enough to see McKeen. McKeen would be walking, not running, away from the scene in order not to draw attention to himself. If Nick is the first CSI on the scene, here's how it could go: the waitress or somebody in the kitchen goes out to put something in the dumpster. They glance down the alley, sees the car, the broken glass and Rick; they run inside and spread the alarm, leading Nick to run to the car.

Regarding episode 9 from Spoiler TV: called 'Say Uncle'. Csi investigates a shooting at a Korean neighborhood party in which the mother and uncle of a small boy are murdered. The Korean boy is HIV positive and being used for experimental treatment.

Nick better be the first one to find Warrick and they better show his reaction and just not a sad face. This is Warrick and Nick were BFF, we need to see Nick reacting to finding Warrick shot dead.
Plus, no more Sara or GSR for a freaking long time please! How about TPTB give Nick/Greg more screentime. I miss scenes of Nick and Greg working together or just being on my screen, especially Greg. Why negotiatie a contract with Eric if your not going to use him to his fullest potential.

I want more Greg/Nick...that is all.

Wow an actual new spoiler! Sounds interesting enough and also kinda bizarre.

YAY!! A new spoiler. It does sound interesting...but how is it from Episode 9? I thought we our last spoilers were from Episode 5...did we miss 3 in between??

Dizzney and kimbo08, regarding episodes 9.06-9.10, I read this on another site, which we're not allowed to mention, and have summarized the information. Until we hear more from official sources, this is speculation:

Episode 9.06 The Big Bang Theory
Radio talk show host is murdered after debating famed preacher. Murder is possibly related to religious activist group.
Episode 9.07 The True Story Of Gilbert Grissom
Double homicide case against notorious gangster is in jeopardy when a lawyer Grissom has previously faced in court takes over for the defense.
Episode 9.08 The Former Life Of The Rich And Famous
A fading actor’s body is discovered with a broken bottle embedded in his head.
Episode 9.09 Overkill
Three people apparently killed with an axe, which is found near them.
Episode 9.10 Mole
The discovery of a “dirty” cop’s body reenergizes the hunt for Warrick’s killer.

Ausiello and EW are showing an interview with CSI TPTB; Laurence Fishburne is, indeed, the winner of the "Take over Grissom's job" sweepstakes. Go to the "who will replace..." thread for details.

Ok, I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Looks like Catherine will be in charge with Nick assisting her.

I got this from eonline:

Newly hired CSI castmember Laurence Fishburne and executive producers Naren Shankar and Carol Mendelsohn just joined together to spill a few details about their new partnership, and as promised, I worked in as many of your questions as I could. Click in to find out their secret code name for the character, where he comes from and who is really taking over Grissom's old job...

NEW DUDE

Fishburne's character has no name yet, but according to the executive producers, "Our internal code name for the character is the Professor." (Ooh! Maybe the Skipper and his little buddy come, too? )They're totally soliciting suggestions for character names, so sound off in the comments below.

Fishburne is cool. (In case you couldn't guess that from the past 25 years of his career): "Do not mistake my presence for the event," he said. "The event is CSI the show. Everyone brings their unique talents to the show, and that's what I'm going to do."

According to Naren Shankar, the Professor's background is in research pathology. He's been forced out of that career, so he's become an itinerant college lecturer. He's teaching a course in criminalistics when he gets involved in an investigation—and, naturally, the ground-floor qualification for being a CSI is a background in science.

Grissom (William Petersen) and the Professor will overlap, working on a case investigation together throughout episodes nine and 10. According to the exec producers, Fishburne is schedule to start shooting on Sept. 17 or 18, and his first appearance is scheduled for Dec. 11...or early 2009, depending on how the schedule shakes out.

Said Naren: "It takes a special personality to be willing to start new—to a place where you're not in charge of everything—and start over. It's an interesting place to be," for both the writers and the actor. "And the character will feel very at home in the bowels of the coroner's office, a little more comfortable than he feels in the halls of the CSI office."
OUR GANG

With Grissom gone, Willows (Marg Helgenberger) will be supervising the team, with assistance from "CSI3" (senior CSI) Nick Stokes (George Eads). Fishburne's character will be joining the team as a "CSI1" (baby CSI). As Carol put it, "[Willows and Stokes] are the natural people to lead the team."
Will Grissom be killed off or is he just riding off in to the sunset? Per Carol Mendelson, "We're not going to tell you how he's leaving." I'll go dollars to doughnuts on the sunset ride, but we'll see.

Yea, because they are the natural people to lead the team.
