Season 9 *Spoiler Lab* Discussions

If you look down at the bottom of the buddy tv article (under the authors name) it puts this one from Newsday on August 10 and Entertainment Weekly as sources. I don't have a link to EW, I think it was just the little blurb on what might have happened if Keppler wasn't killed off.

I know that titles of newspaper stories aren't put on a story by the the actual author of the story (heard a local newspaper writer complaining about it one day on the radio) and captions for photos may just be the same way. That may just be a generic caption that someone put on after looking at the photos. Hey, it gives me hope that it's still Nick who finds him!

As for BUddyTV not stating its sources concerning LF joining CSI. Not so, if you look at the bottom of the article you'll read this.

Sure looks like sources were stated to me.

THIS IS FOR EVERYONE TO READ! find the part that pertains to you, it might be more then one.

Well I didn't make the 2.5 second timing, but I did get here. - Let me start out by saying thank you to Erica for that info, the new thread is up.. Season 9 *Spoiler* Picture Thread.

Shytownmofo & Desertwind, you both need to chill out, if you want to argue then I suggest, or recommend that you take it to PM (Private Message), and before anyone tries to explain to me what it was all about, I do not want to hear it. You both know better, as does everyone else on this forum. This is why we have rules in this thread and on this board in which I hope everyone will respect. I highly recommend that anyone who new or regulars go back and read the rules on not only this thread, but the board as well.

Everyone Else, What has to be remembered here is everything concerning this show is fictional, we get that you feel passionate about your fav show, character, ship, etc. But there is a line out there and when people cross it, it is only asking for trouble, a point I am guessing no one wants to go to. Again you have some options to deal with this, you can generally ignore any person, you have the "ignore" feature, you can read the info and if you don't like it step back and take a breath before you respond. But being rude to each other is not and never has been an answer. - Lastly we (Tally & Myself) will not be put in the position on whether or not to close this thread, like the last time, before that option would come into play (and its a last no more options left) we will give warnings officially first.

This thread has to be shared by EVERYONE and that is not easy at times, we understand this, but it can and has been done before. There are a lot of strong personalities, opinions and passions involved but its up to YOU the poster to know where to draw the line, mods should be the last line in all of this. As to spoilers and links, there are times when what is old to you maybe new to someone else and vice versa. - I do recommend that if you have info that seems new to you that you read through the thread (or use the "search thread" feature) to see if it is already here, if it is and you want to discuss it, quote it and respond. Everyone is biting for that fresh new information, on that fresh new ep, thats fine but until its released there are plenty of discussion left on the eps in which you have some info on, try that.

This thread is not about the "Actors", its about the "Characters", the only time "ship discussions" should be added is when the scene calls for that moment, otherwise ships talk should be done in the SC forum, also previous characters unless they are guesting on the show, discussion of them should be done in their respective threads, As to characters leaving if it will help I will make a thread for all of them that are leaving this way you all can deal with discussing all in one type of thing.

Hopefully you have all read this, its to the point people are complaining of the arguing, some not wanting to be here, and I can not blame them. But again as it has been said the bickering on the board will not be tolerated, respectful debates is one thing, when it goes over the line, thats another story (no pun intended) altogether.

Now back to the reason this thread is here.

Thanks for doing the necessary, D. I was about half way through my "take a time-out" post.

It would be in everyone's best interest to be exceptionally mindful of Destiny's post. We cannot have this thread or any other thread be subjected to inappropriate behavior and constant bickering as it's ruining it for the others. Either Destiny or I will deal with issues as they arise so please refrain from inflaming the situation.

I agree with you on the promo pics, but look at the caption of the two pics that were posted:

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION -- "For Warrick" --Grissom (William Petersen) discovers that Warrick (Gary Dourdan) has been shot, on the ninth season premiere of CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, Thursday, October 9 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Looks like Grissom will be the one finding Warrick, but you never know. :)

Destiny, they are indeed the first two promotional photos from the season 8 premiere released by CBS. Hopefully there will be more.

I seriously hope it's Nick, and not Grissom. Everybody else left, so Nick was the only one there. Plus, anything else, IMO wouldn't do justice to Nick and Warrick's friendship. Well, we'll see October 9th.

I agree. It better be Nick that finds Warrick.

However, "Grissom discovers that Warrick has been shot" could just mean he gets a phone call and then arrives on the scene. Really everyone will discover it, since they all will be called.

Well, this is what I'm going by, because it wouldn't be right for anyone, but Nick, to find Warrick and if Grissom is the one who finds him, I will not be a happy camper. If Nick is the last one at the diner, then he should find him. If it was Grissom, Cath, or Greg left at the diner, then it should be one of them. Know what I mean? The last person at the diner should be the one who finds Warrick.

Ugh, is it October 9th yet?

Sorry ... started to quote on pic but see it belongs on a new thread. Ignore me

Okay then.. moving on

I would think it would be Nicky that finds Warricks body. And I thought I read initially that it was Nicky that found him. :wtf: That's how Cath and Grissom found out. I guess we'll have to wait and see how the episode turns out.

Okay, here's what I'm thinking. Grissom is usually pretty in control of his emotions, right? Well, I'm thinking if he was the one to find Warrick, he'd be smart enough and in control enough not to touch the body until any and all evidence was collected. He knows he'd contaminate the crime scene if he did otherwise. This is what further makes me believe that those pics are from later scenes. And it also makes me think that it will be Nick who finds Warrick. I'm thinking Warrick will still be alive, but just barely when Nick finds him. And I'm thinking that Warrick's gonna end up dying in his best friend's arms. For dramatic purposes, that would be the best way to go. It would affect Nicky a lot more if he had to basically watch and feel the life drain out of his best friend rather than him finding him already dead. I mean, both would affect him a lot, but I would think that Rick dying in his arms would be all the more traumatic for Nick. Nick is a pretty emotional guy and would be especially when it came to his best friend. And I'm thinking he wouldn't be in control enough of his emotions and wouldn't be able to stop himself from holding onto Warrick. Nick wouldn't be thinking about the evidence most likely. But, Grissom would.

Also, the spoilers say that Nick finds Warrick slumped over in his car. Warrick's not in the car in those pics, so that's another thing that makes me believe its later on. I highly doubt that Grissom would pull Warrick out of the car. That's not his job. That's for the coroner to do, right? So, it might still be Nicky who finds Rick. It's only logical that it would be him. Wasn't Grissom the first one to leave the diner? Or at least the second (Greg might have been the first). I think Cath was the last one to leave before Rick. There's more of a reason that Nick was still in that diner besides the waitress. There's a bigger reason and that reason has to be that he's the one to find Rick. Nothing else would make any sense.

Sure looks like sources were stated to me.

It states the sources, but I think what people were saying is the when they GO to those sites there is no information there.

I agree that "Grissom discovers Warrick's been shot" doesn't necessarily mean he's the one who finds him. Unless maybe he forgot something and turned right around to come back to the restaurant and finds him. But that would mean Warrick's car was far enough away that no one in the diner heard the shots. :shifty:

Of course, I think some people really, really wanted Grissom to be the one to find Sara in the desert in "Dead Doll", and that didn't happen. TPTB can be really clueless sometimes, so I'm not holding my breath for a good outcome to all of this.

I hope nobody minds but I went ahead and posted those two promo pics on the new picture thread, With full credit to those who posted them first of course.

Hypothetical season 9 theme/intro:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqxsyDssklg

I had to recut the original "who are You" track to accommodate the larger cast, but I think it's pretty much seamless.

Those who are heartbroken about WP, JF and GD not being there probably shouldn't watch this.

Nice! It looks like a show I would still enjoy watching. Although, with all this Fishburne and Warrick talk, I had almost forgotten about Riley. Still on the fence about that. :shifty:

I know I'm in an overwhelming minority here, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing an expanded role for Ecklie.

I don't see him as a terrible guy, he just doesn't get along well with Grissom.

With the whole Warrick being shot by the undersherrif thing, I think Ecklie's bureaucratic skills and his ability to 'run interference' as he calls it, between the team, the higher-ups and the media will give him a chance to shine and somewhat redeem himself.

We saw hints of him being not such a bad guy in 'For Gedda' - let's build on it.

I think Riley has the potential to be a great character, as long as the writers don't repolish old unused scripts and use the search and replace tool, replacing Sarah with Riley.

"Search and replace tool"
I would love to see Riley come in as someone who had a great upbringing, supportive family, straight A's and parents thinking that becoming a CSI was a great idea, if that's what their child wanted. Could sure use a CSI without "issues," for a change; Nick seems the closest to that, but I can't remember if his parents approved of his job choice.
I think you're on the right track re Ecklie. I wonder if TPTB were thinking ahead to Grissom's departure when they wrote Ecklie's lines for "For Gedda." Also, the undersheriff is apparently the "bad guy du saison," and I don't see TPTB diluting his evil by having us angry at two characters.

My read on Ecklie is that he's always been very career driven, and he saw his work at CSI as a necessary stepping stone towards a high-profile management job.

As for Riley, I'm hoping her character plays out a little bit like: "I have all the training in the world, passed all the physical and psychological tests, and graduated at the top of my class, but none of that prepared me for this job! What the hell did I just sign up for?"

Thank you for posting that new intro. Very interesting. So it is definitely Fishburne who gets the new lead role. Still ticks me off that the new girl gets billing before Eric though. I know, I know...boy, girl, boy, girl. Still ticks me off. Eric should have been placed right after George in the line-up.

Looking forward to the premiere of the new season, but saddened that we have to wait until October.
