Season 6 Ratings

We did something similar last year, so I thought a thread with S6 ratings would be nice. :)

6.01 "Epilogue":

CBS dominated 10 p.m., with the sixth season-premiere of CSI: NY at a very healthy 14.57 million viewers and a 4.0/11 among adults 18-49. Comparably, this was almost duplicate to its year-ago season-opener. Next was the series-premiere of ABC’s Eastwick, with 8.53 million viewers and a 3.0/ 8 in the demo. Although the retention out of Cougar Town could have been better (75 percent in total viewers; 70 percent in adults 18-49), this was a noticeable improvement over the season-premiere of former occupant Dirty Sexy Money (Viewers: 7.02 million; A18-49: 2.4/ 7 on Oct. 1, 2008).

Last at 10 p.m. was NBC’s The Jay Leno Show with 6.43 million viewers and a 2.0/ 5 among adults 18-49. Comparably, this was only about equal to year-ago failed occupant Lipstick Jungle (Viewers; 6.25 million; A18-49: 2.4/ 6 on Sept. 24, 2008). It’s official: NBC has a big problem on its hands!

Looks good - a million higher than Miami's premiere on Monday, and it didn't drop from last season's premiere. Lead-in Criminal Minds actually had slightly lower numbers than a year ago.

Great to see the ratings so high for the premiere!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it out-performed CSI: Miami. I know it did in viewers... not sure about 18-49.

Hey guys! I saw in a site that the final numbers for CSI: NY season 6 premiere is now 15.062 million viewers and 4.0/11 in adults 18-49. I hope it can hold up until the end of the season!

Cool, thanks for the info on the final numbers, LVNYfan1113. Definitely good ratings to start out the season - I hope the show can keep the viewers around. :D

I don't know about the final results, but going off the overnights I used for CSI Files, Miami had 4.3/11 in the 18-49 demo. Which (I think) means that Miami got a larger number of viewers in that demo, but they got the same percentage of 18-49ers who were actually watching TV at the time.

Great ratings! Hopefully people will continue to tune in for the next episode, and the rest of the season. :)

Ouch. Down by a lot in week two.

6.02 "Blacklist (Featuring Hangman)":

At 10 p.m., CBS’ veteran CSI: NY has a lock in the time period, with 12.87 million viewers and a 3.2/ 9 among adults 18-49. Second was week two of ABC’s Eastwick (Viewers: 6.62 million; A18-49: 2.4/ 7), followed by NBC’s The Jay Leno Show at 5.99 million viewers and a 1.9/ 5 in the demo.

Hmm, disappointing figures, but I'm not that surprised. Hopefully the ratings will pick up again. :)

Yeah, but that's a big drop - I think I read it was like 15% (20% in the 18-49 demo). Even if the higher ratings were due to it being the premiere last week, it sucks that they didn't retain more of that audience - especially when it doesn't seem like many people fled to the competition. Eastwick and Leno were also down from last week. So unless there's competition on cable or people are DVRing the show to watch later, it seems like people just...aren't watching. (Not that I am an expert on how all of this works, of course.)

that was a big drop, but i think they'll pick up again next week. since skeet ulrich will be guest starring, probably jericho fans would want to watch.

Ouch. Holy crap, when will the downward slide even out?!

6.03 "Lat/Long":

Tops at 10 p.m. was CBS’ veteran CSI: NY at 11.96 million viewers and a 2.9/ 8 among adults 18-49. But one year earlier, CSI: NY was noticeable stronger with 13.16 million viewers and a 3.3/ 9 in the demo. Tied for the No. 2 spot was NBC flop The Jay Leno Show (Viewers: #2, 5.74 million; A18-49: #3, 1.7/ 5) and week three of ABC’s Eastwick (Viewers: #3, 5.28 million; A18-49: #2, 1.8/ 5), which continues to lose steam...
