Question: I need some CSI spoilers, please. —Sharp
Ausiello:
There still seems to be some confusion among fans whether Ted Danson is in fact coming in as a new supervisor, since Catherine was the leader last season. Well, I can confirm that Danson’s D.B. Russell is definitely in charge when the season starts and Catherine is not happy about it. She blames Nick for her demotion because of how he handled the Haskell imbroglio.

Thanks to Sharp for posing the question! :)

'CSI' goes mafia with guest star -- EXCLUSIVE

CSI is doing a mob-themed episode, thanks to the opening of an actual mafia museum in Las Vegas.

For an episode this fall, the show has cast Frances Fisher (Titanic, The Shield) in a guest star role, playing the wife of a notorious hit man. The episode will take place at The Mob Museum, one of two new mafia-themed museums opening in the city. (The first, The Las Vegas Mob Experience, is already open at the Tropicana; The Mob Museum opens in February.)

Also, former Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman will have a cameo in the episode. CSI returns on Sept. 21 and, of course, has a new star on board with Ted Danson joining the team.
Thanks to Jacquie and vegaslights for this information! :)

CSI is shooting a new episode at the mob museum..and they've got a great twist in the script...someone we all know gets killed.
Okay, you dragged it out of me. The way I hear it, Oscar Goodman plays himself in CSI episode. Oscar gets killed.
Thanks to Dizzney for posting this! :)

Some more information for episode four, "Maid Man."

Frances Fisher will play Joanna, who is an all-Vegas woman. Her husband--Frankie "Whack Job"-- is a notorious hitman who has been missing and presumed dead for a while. She explains to the CSIs that Frankie bore a grudge against Mayor Goodman for refusing to represent Frankie in court.

There's multiple victims in this episode (possibly two cases?). Also, a new sheriff will be making her way into the picture, and she's currently slated to be recurring.

This is for episode 12.05, "CSI Down":

'CSI' Books 'Switched at Birth's' Vanessa Marano for Harrowing Role (Exclusive)

"The O.C.'s" Johnny Messner will also guest star in the episode playing Marano's father.

Switched at Birth star Vanessa Marano is heading to CSI.

The actress, who plays artistic teen Bay Kennish on the ABC Family drama, will guest star in an upcoming episode of CBS’ CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as Samantha, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

In the harrowing role, Marano will play the estranged daughter of an ex-con named Frank, who will be played by The O.C.’s Johnny Messner.
In the episode, Frank is an ex-con who lost touch with Samantha and learns she was a street gang groupie and goes on a one-man war to get his little girl back.

It looks like Morgan will be on the helicopter in 12x05: CSI Down - Elisabeth Harnois tweeted
I get to work in a helicopter this week. Keeping in mind my fear of heights, I'm doing good and my pants are considerably free of urine.

From the EW Spoiler Room:

Hi Sandra, I need to know more about Catherine’s exit this season on CSI. In particular, just how BIG of a role is Nick going to have in it? His involvement makes me a little nervous. I love these two and hope their friendship stays in tact and of course that they’re both safe. Please help reassure me. Thanks! — Traci
Hmmm…not sure how reassuring this is going to be. The first signs of trouble will definitely be seen in the premiere on Sept. 21 when Nick and Catherine have it out in a major way.
Thanks to vegaslights for posting this! :)

Several spoilers in the interview with Elisabeth Harnois on CSI Files.

But I do know that it’s—I think it’s a pretty strong certainty that he (William Petersen) will be coming around at some point. I hope I’m a part of… well let’s just say I hope our storylines intersect.

I think that as with any change of hand or power, there’s definitely that. “So who is this guy?” kind of thing going on with DB. My transition is a little bit different; it involves my father and my complicated relationship with my father, Conrad Ecklie. Because these characters already know me I think I’m not being hazed quite as much. [Laughs.] But I think with Ted’s character he is a superior so there’s only so much they can do in terms of judgment, but there’s definitely that level of “who is this guy?”

I’m only in a couple of scenes in the first episode that are very sort of poignant scenes and they’re between me and my father. It’s really not about a reconciliation at all, in fact our relationship becomes business very quickly. I think for him he’s wanting more and I think that I resent him a little bit for the way things have gone over the years and the fact that he hasn’t been in my life much. I don’t dwell on that at all; I’m very much forward in my thinking. He’s the one trying to be more emotional about it. There’s definitely not a reconciliation at the beginning. It’s going to play throughout the season.

There’s a little bit of curiosity between a couple different characters about each other involving me. [Laughs.] They’re all very attractive so any of them would be suitable as far as I’m concerned.

Because she’s so very new I think that’s still being figured out who my buddy is going to be. But there’s definitely a really fun banter between me and Eric Szmanda that they’re writing. It’s really fun to play and we definitely have a good chemistry in terms of that. They’ve been writing some fun stuff for us. I’d say she’s probably closest with him right now.

Well the premiere episode is pretty twisted. There’s a storyline in that premiere episode that I honestly… it’s territory that I didn’t think could be treaded because I didn’t know it existed. People are strange and this season is really going to delve into some of the darker sides of human behavior, even more than I think the show has in the past. Eyebrows will raise a bit at some of the storylines we have, especially with this premiere episode. Also, I think with the addition of Ted and hopefully myself, there’s going to be some humor. There’s going to be some levity as to what can otherwise be a very dark world; it’s going to be fun. There’s going to be some romance. I think there’s going to be a lot of new dynamics for the audience to latch on to.

Thanks to vegaslights for conducting the interview! :)

How does CSI deal with Laurence Fishburne's exit? After all, Langston was a part of the cliff-hanger. — Matthew
ADAM: The Season 12 premiere quickly confronts how serial killer Nate Haskell's death by Langston's hand will impact the team. Langston may be the only one who gets a happy ending, including a second chance with his ex-wife back in Baltimore. Meanwhile, his recklessness forces the rest of the team to do their jobs much more by the book. That doesn't sit well with Catherine, who takes her anger out on Nick.

Lots of goodies from the online chat with Carol Mendelsohn and Don McGill! :)

  • We'll be seeing a lot of Eric - working side by side with Morgan Brody our new CSI. Ep3 they get sticky in chocolate

  • Nick butts heads with DB Russell (Ted Danson) and goes on a date - but not with Ted Danson

  • We love you Kentucky - But no plans for CSI to travel to the east coast. Too many people to protect in Vegas.

  • We've been talking to Jorja Fox about Sara and Grissom - Look for clues to where Grissom's been and where he's heading

  • Captain Brass did what he thought was right at the end of last season - like the team, he pays a price... called DB Russell

  • We lucked out - Ted Danson was perfect for the role. Great actor, funny, sensitive, intense, and looks terrific in latex

  • Brass and Robbins will fill us in on Langston's departure. Catherine and Nick will throw down the rest of the pieces...

  • Billy says Grissom has been working on perfecting his grilled cheese sandwiches. May surprise Sara with one.

  • Morgan will have sparks with dad Ecklie - and maybe sparks will fly with Nick and Greg before she comes tumbling to earth.

  • Don and I think Ted is a dream. So does cast & crew. And lucky for us he seems to like us too.

  • Coming up this season we come across a new kind of blood drop, a bug no one has ever seen before, and a "super gun"

  • A crossover with Criminal Minds has not been discussed. But great act to follow on Wednesday nights.

  • New rats this season. Xiomara in ballistics, Henry Andrews gets a promotion. Hodges, Mandy and Archie running the maze as well

  • Don says, Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman in mob museum this season. Francis Fisher. And Kevin McNally "Pirates" in a freak show

  • Nick's date interrupted by decomp, will she come back for more? Death can't scare Robbins' niece. We'll meet Mrs Robbins soon

  • Greg couldn't find a publisher his book afterall. He's carrying because "anything can happen in Vegas"

  • Don and I have talked to George Eads about directing an episode - nothing on the books to date.

  • Still advise all CSI fans to look under their beds and count your oranges - Sqweegel is out there.

  • Bobby Dawson was transferred to days. Xiomara (Monique Gabriela Curnen) is our new ballistics tech. She loves guns.

  • Episode 2 is all about the CSIEFFECT. There may be no perfect crime but there may be the perfect defense - times 3.

  • Don says, Catherine and Vartann's relationship will become even more explosive and maybe even deadly.

  • We would love to have Mary Steenburgen on CSI we'll have to talk to Mary and Ted first.

  • Don says, we've talked about meeting Sara's mom since meeting Mrs Grissom. Maybe an episode called "The In-Laws"

  • This season Hodges will move on and we may meet his mother and realize no one can hold a candle to Mrs H. Henry will be jealous

  • New this season - An octopus on a Vegas tram. Also in a committed relationship in a tub in a strip club. Don't miss it!

  • No serial killer arcs but doesn't mean we won't cross with creepy killers. Some recently sprung. Some who like women's hair.

  • Nick has a potential love interest this season. She has connections to the morgue. But does she love bugs?

"73 Seconds"

Shizu has a unique erotic specialty: she has sex with her pet octopus during live shows to entertain tentacle fetishists. In the hotel tram with her octopus Claude in her handbag, Shizu flees the scene after the shootout ends, dropping Claude in the process. Tracked down by the detectives at work, she's very worried about Claude, and has no idea that he died in the chaotic aftermath...
