You know George himself said if he knows Billy like he does that Billy won't return.

I seriously wouldn't hold your breath of WP making a guest appearance anytime soon.

If the show were to end, I could see him doing the last episode, but don't think we'll see him before then.

Hope I'm wrong, I'd love to see Grissom again.

What I'm most surprised at, if your theory is correct, is that the writers didn't realise they could just have both Sara and Wendy as CSI's. I mean assuming that it's possible for them to comprehend that there could be more than two female leads...

Even then, when Sara came back they could have just made it that Ecklie or whoever refused to let Wendy out into the field and so she stayed in DNA.

I'm not really sad that she's gone, but I hate not knowing why she's gone. Too many females have disappeared for no reason already!
I think the issue with Wendy's character is that she was created by TPTB specifically for two reasons: as a possible replacement for Sara out in the field, and as a love interest for Hodges. But I'm guessing the two were supposed to go hand in hand. When the one didn't pan out, I really think TPTB decided that character wasn't going to fulfill the role for which she was developed into a starring role, and so they felt -- for whatever reason -- that there was nowhere else to go with her. Not in a starring capacity, anyway.

And I don't think anyone likes moving backward. I'm not saying that Liz would have objected, necessarily, but I think TPTB might not have wanted to move her into a starring role, only to move her back into a recurring role. Again, not saying that I agree with it, but it seems like a logical progression.

Jorja just recently visited WP in Chicago, so she as well knows him, and who knows what they talked about besides the Spotlight on Humanity Event. Maybe his possible return in S/11:eek:

BILLY AND JORJA IN CHICAGO

I think Eric saw him in Chicago too this summer. Just because they visit a friend and former co-worker does not mean he is coming back.

Wendy was originally created to be Greg's replacment in the lab when Greg went in the field (or rather to be Greg's replacement's replacement [Mia] lol). Also, I read somewhere a long time ago that Wendy was originally going to be a love interest for Greg, but somewhere along the way, the writers decided to make her a love interest for Hodges instead. But her being put in the opening credits was because Marg would have been the only female there otherwise (after Riley left)... and at some point after Sara left, Wendy was thought to be Sara's replacement in the field (Wendy went in the field a lot, basically replacing Sara's role when she'd left and Riley came in as Warrick's replacement, tptb stated that at one point), but for some reason they decided not to have Wendy become a CSI after all. And they painted her character into a corner after having her state she wanted to be a CSI and actually getting her together with Hodges. They no longer knew what to do with the character. I'm personally of the belief that really, really good writers would find a way to keep the character there... So, I think it was CBS and not the show-runners/writers who wanted to get rid of Liz/Wendy.

When this was first announced about "A lab-rat is leaving" my daughter immediatley said "Wendy" I go "Why did you say her"? she goes she was the most irrelevant and not important. I go "didn't you like her" she goes 'She was OK, but not as fun or important as the rest of them" So apparently not everyone loved her, and maybe the writers or CBS, thought over the rest she had to go. I liked her, but sometimes she wasn't even in the episode or only a brief snippet/appearance now and then here and there. Maybe eventually we'll hear WHY. although I doubt it from past stars who've come and gone and we never knew why:confused:

Yeah, I agree that the most probable reason for her leaving is that they did paint her into a corner. By this last season, her character became defined by the relationship with Hodges and her desire to become a CSI. And last season they basically said that neither were going to happen.

I read on another site that Wally is definitely returning. Nothing I can link to, but I put it here for those who were concerned about him.

I do believe we will hear something about Wendy in the premiere, even if it's a one liner. My guess is she will have been transferred to another shift. I don't think anyone wants to see a mopey Hodges, since he has almost always added comic relief to the show.

I think you're right on that. I do believe she will be transferred to another shift because their relationship would be considered conflict of interest.

BILLY AND JORJA IN CHICAGO

That was February (is that still recent? it's months now), and Jorja was committed to coming to Chicago for the Spotlight Humane event. Seeing Billy, she said, was a bonus, but apparently he wasn't expected to come by since he was very busy with his play and some family stuff. I didn't ask for details.

Also, if you could please credit my site if you're going to snag pictures from it, I'd appreciate. I actually took that picture ;) What they talked about (in public) was just general life stuff.

From a CBS press release:

On Thursday, Sept. 23, CBS opens its new one-hour comedy block on television's biggest night with the fourth season premiere of THE BIG BANG THEORY (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) -the fastest-growing series on television and the #1 scripted program in adults 18-49 - heading into the irreverent new comedy, $#*! MY DAD SAYS (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT). CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION returns for its 11th season (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), followed by the third season premiere of THE MENTALIST (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

Mark it down on your calendars.

Well, Ipstenu February is only 5 months ago, and the photo mentioned was sent to me by a friend, she didn't say where she got this, no offense intended..

On Liz/Wendy, maybe she demanded to go out in the field as a CSI, and they said "NO" or not to continue the farce with Hodges, and they said "YES' or maybe she wanted more money and they said "NO" there has to be a valid reason, beings she has many fans. I can't believe they just let her go for no particular reason. I know she was smitten by Laurence Fishburne being added to the cast of the show. In part she said ~

I'm talent struck by Laurence..it's like somebody didn't tell him he's LF", Liz said. "He cares about people on a level you don't experience with alot of actors, it's if he has perspective, he takes the skill seriously & the job seriously, but he doesn't take himself seriously..you can tell there's alot going on in his head"

Ahem. Anyway. There's that word again to describe the premiere...explosive.

Dang it, it's true. I thought that was just a foiler as it were... :brickwall:

But I have to say, Nathan Kress from iCarly was pretty good. Not that I'm saying that YOUNG and I emphasize YOUNG Mr. Bieber is going to be as good, I'm just saying....
