Season 11 "Spoiler Lab" Discussion Part 4

I guess being "involved" has different interpretations for people. A personal story that's happening with my neighbor. He wants to put in a fence between our property, and I told him "go ahead, I'm not interested". Now if I was discusssing the fence, the price, the border, the materials, the contractors etc. then I would be "involved".............. Ray has been sent home by Cath but not suspended. To me watching the show weekly it seems like they've all been involved with this case [Haskell] since the onset, in one way or another~

I understand that "being involved" can mean different things. :) Since you were replying to a poster who said that, I only assumed you were talking about her definition of it which seemed to be in relation to the repercussions of the Haskell fallout.

Yes, they have all 'worked' the case. So yes, in one or another they have all been involved in the case, but not like Ray has.

Ray has been stabbed by Haskell and is a victim of his. None of the others are victims of his. So because of that Ray should not be working on this case.

The only one's who would get reprimanded are Ray (for working on a case he shouldn't be), Catherine (for not keeping a reign on her team), and both for taking Haskell out of prison to help with the Jekyll case. And the solved the case without his help in the first place. Haskell was playing him (Ray) and it worked AND then to give him (haskell) what he wants to get info? Food and a woman? Come on...I can see Catherine getting in trouble for that. You don't do that.

Yes, this is TV, but you still don't do that.

Another issue that seems misconstrued, is Marg's exit. In the EW Magazine an interview [Nov.3 ,2010] with her said, on WP returning and her guest spots this~

"Helgenberger admits that working with Laurence Fishburne "the consumate professional" has been "fun" and her co-star should have no concerns about CSI's former leading man William Petersen back for an extended stay. "If I had money on it I'd say "NO". He would never come back on any kind of full-time way", she said "He might come back to do an episode or two towards THE END OF THE RUN, but NO. He was ready to go"

So I doubt he'll be in S/12, unless this is the end of the run. you can read her entire comments in that issue. Just bring up EW Magazine and put in her name;)

But she has also said recently that Billy will come back for her final episode. The discussed it at the 250th show party.

Can you give us a quote for that? I'm curious.

I never doubted he'd return for the end of the run myself.

The EW interview was posted Nov. 3, 2010. The Tele Star interview was just this past week, so much more recent.

Have you re-signed yet?
M.H: No, I haven’t gotten a contract yet. I’ll know for sure in late May. But I know I’ll be back at the beginning of the new season to say goodbye to the team.
Do you know how it’s going to be played out?
M.H.: I don’t want a teary goodbye. I want it to be dramatic and mysterious. All I can tell you is that William Petersen promised to return so Grissom will be there for Catherine when she leaves. He’ll be there in the first episodes.
That’s a scoop!
M.H.: Billy (William Petersen) was the one that made the decision. He came back to celebrate the show’s 250th episode in March and asked me if we could have a talk in private for a few minutes. So we went to my trailer and he told me he would like to return. He had an idea for the scenario. I was thrilled.
So far, it sounds like just casual talk - but it does sound like WP wants to be there for her, so hopefully the writers will work with his ideas. Either way, it's not an "extended return."

I'm so thrilled with the news that Grissom will be there for Cath's exit. I was never 100% satisfied with the closure with Cath and Gil when he left. I am really looking forward to seeing them together onscreen again because I just enjoyed the two of them together so much. They had amazing chemistry and was one of the top reasons I got so hooked with CSI in the first place.

I'm also really excited that WP has contributed to how Cath will be departing. I'm curious to know what his idea is.

I kinda got the impression that TeleStar is the French equivalent of the National Enquirer. I don't put alot of stock in crudely translated articles. Isn't that how the whole CSI movie thing got started? Turned out to be bogus, didn't it?

I seem to recall reading something some time back that hinted that Catherine's departure would have more to do with running her father's casino, not anything to do with how the Haskell thing turns out.

I think it's just speculation at this point, but that's just me. You know how tptb like to mold over various possibilities and/or change their minds. How we all theorize on the most interesting of ways for Marg to depart...or anyone for that matter. I don't think anything is set in stone as of yet.

And who knows...perhaps the Casino angle is an option now put to one side, just to see if something better can come from the Haskell scenario in general. Something more exciting and unsuspecting.

I'm curious as to why Marg is speaking for Billy:confused: Can't he say that "he's coming back", and when? He's not a shrinking violet type but really outspoken & if this was accurate wouldn't he be the one to say it, not Marg? And on his fan-site if says nothing about this, so I'm baffled and wondering if this is true. As DJ stated "nothing is written in stone" ~the old "time will tell" applies to this~

I thought the whole Catherine running the casino empire idea began on this board. I'd love to see the original crew back for another episode or two, if possible. I know there's no way to include Gary, unless perhaps in a flashback, but it would make my whole season to see it. ;)

Well, like you said it's a fan site. Nothing official.

Since the show hasn't even been officially renewed yet, let alone actors signing on for another season, obviously anything about season 12 is all just talk, rumour, speculation, wishful thinking, etc. It's still fun to explore the possibilties though. :)
