Episode 8 is titled "Fracked."

The team will investigate a series of deaths related to an energy company's grotesque cover-up of tainted water.

Am I being dense? Does anyone know what "Fracked" would be in reference to?

Well!! The only time I've really ever heard it is in Battlestar Galactica (goes back all the way to the 1978 version ~ usually Starbuck)

When you can't say what you really want to...

Probably he'll fall for her and she'll use him for the case. Or it'll turn out she becomes a suspect and everyone treats Greg like shit like they always do......*bitter* I mean, they couldn't possibly let one of the team be happy :p
True! :D But then Catherine's happy...
I think that's why I wrote that storyline for this show - you get Greg's humour, his vision of himself as a ladykiller, and he gets to be in control at the end of it!

Ah! Thanks! No wonder I didn't know. I'm not into the science fiction shows out there. Even tho, I DID watch the original, but I guess I didn't get it then either. ;)

Just read the reference thread about next episode. The guys head on a spike. Must be what Catherine and Vartann are looking at in the beginning of the promo?

They have to have Greg fall for Dita because that's EXACTLY his character. It's him personified to lust after that type of woman, so to not do it because "there's enough romance" is a disservice to his character. If anything, it's the writers' fault for being shortsighted in giving too many other characters romances. It's Greg's turn.
I disagree with what you've said there to a certain extent. Yes, it's Greg's character for him to lust after beautiful women, but that's always where it stays, in his head. He SEES them falling for him, and himself as a success with them, but in reality he isn't; he's a geek, making awkward passes and not actually succeeding much at all. That's what makes him so adorable. He's always talked the talk, but never really walked the walk! To that end, having him romance and get it on with a beautiful, desirable femme-fatale like Dita seems completely out of character to me. Just feels wrong. It's how he sees himself, sure, but not how he actually is...

All I said was lust after. Maybe they'll have him pursue her, get her, then realize that the fantasy he's been hot for all these years doesn't really mesh with the reality of his life. He'll realize she's not "serious relationship potential" and they'll part ways. It would definitely show he's matured.

Posted this in the "Pool Shark" thread...thought we might as well have a reminder here as well. ;)

Everyone...let's remember that we all have our favorite characters...Ray, Sara, Nick, Greg, Cath, Hodges, etc. When you dis a character, you are essentially being disrespectful to the posters who like the character. It's fair to discuss something you may not like about a character, but let's please do it in a fair and objective manner, keeping in mind that other people may like the character.

Let's please remember too that these are fictional characters who do what the writers make them do. They aren't real. It's not worth arguing over or getting so upset over when a character does or says something that you don't like.

Back to business now. :)

I really think they need to go back to the A & B case format. It just seems wrong to have so many CSI's on one case unless it is multiple murders or something. They've been having too many of the one case episodes lately.

At least it's not like last season where there were so many 'two cases become one' episodes

I completely agree! Two or more. I liked all of the 4-case episodes, and would love to see more of them too. It's nice seeing each CSI get to follow a case from initial crime scene, to evidence processing, right through to solving it, instead of some characters just popping in for a minute to say one thing.

I was watching the commentary on 4x4 the other day, and someone (I think DLA, but so hard to tell voices sometimes) said they were "bored with anything less now" and wanted to write a 7-case episode! Wish they'd remember that now. :)

Ray is Frick

Nick is Frack (can't be frick because it rhymes)

Nick is Fracked with Frick who is Ray

Nick: Frick stop being so Fracked about everything

Ray: Okay it's Fricking done!
