Episode 8 is titled "Fracked."

The team will investigate a series of deaths related to an energy company's grotesque cover-up of tainted water.
uh, doesn't that sound quite familiar? Like "the case of the cross-dressing carp" or perhaps "erin brokovich"?

Or Family Guy, even!

(Just wanted to thank all you guys for the great things you said about my story idea - might give the fan fiction a try, but I have a feeling it'll be a huge undertaking, and would probably work much better on the screen! Still, I did laugh today at the thought of Nick pausing agape mid-sentence and looking around expectantly, before cutting to Greg at his laptop going 'No, no, no....and deleting his lines!)

As you were, thanks again, guys!

The CSI franchise is really making my year with all this Battlestar Galactica references and guest stars. :D

I'm excited with next week's episode. Looks fun and then there's the Vartann/Cath scene...:D

I'm not so sure about next week's episode. Looks kind of cheesy now after seeing the preview.

Besides Cath, next weeks sort of looks sort of interesting. And that's a longer promo than we saw last night.

As for the "Fracked" episode. Is that the one with Katee Sackoff? Could be a tribute to her Starbuck character on BattleStar Galactica??? ;)

That's what I though too.

This is from the Reference Thread:

CSI has finally succeeded in capturing Katee Sackhoff.

The Battlestar Galacitca firebrand and recent 24 alum is joining the cast in a potentially recurring role, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Sackhoff will play Detective Reed, a smart, tough, and feisty investigator with an acknowledged lack of sensitivity. Her first episode is slated to air during November sweeps.

Full Details from The Ausiello Files

Katee's episode is supposed to air during November's sweeps. I think November is a little far away from episode 5 though. It would make more sense for it to be episode 8.

Should I start lobbying now for Mandy and Henry?

Surely, CSI will implode with all this romance in one season. It is a procedural, after all. :D

What's interesting to me is that when Grissom was there, every new female character was a potential love interest for him; now, it seems to be Nick.

Oh well, I am intrigued by Greg's storyline, although I'm having a hard time picturing him romantically involved with a femme fatale. But, hey, GO GREGGO!
A little romance is fine but three potential romances in one season...too much. I'm really excited for Dita Von Teese being on the show but does Greg really have to hook up with her? Either the writers are getting very uncreative with plotline ideas for the characters or tptb have no confidence in the show lasting much longer.:( I never thought I'd say it but I'm actually hoping Langston comes back from his hospital bed fairly quickly.

They have to have Greg fall for Dita because that's EXACTLY his character. It's him personified to lust after that type of woman, so to not do it because "there's enough romance" is a disservice to his character. If anything, it's the writers' fault for being shortsighted in giving too many other characters romances. It's Greg's turn.
Yeah, but falling for is a lot different than having a romance with. Greg having a crush is alright with me but him going out with, I suppose, a suspect is just a little weird.

I disagree with what you've said there to a certain extent. Yes, it's Greg's character for him to lust after beautiful women, but that's always where it stays, in his head. He SEES them falling for him, and himself as a success with them, but in reality he isn't; he's a geek, making awkward passes and not actually succeeding much at all. That's what makes him so adorable. He's always talked the talk, but never really walked the walk! To that end, having him romance and get it on with a beautiful, desirable femme-fatale like Dita seems completely out of character to me. Just feels wrong. It's how he sees himself, sure, but not how he actually is...

He and the way he acts is adorable, but come on, he's not 16, he's like 36 now. It's time for him to get serious, don't ya' all think?

I didn't say he shouldn't get serious, I just think they should stick to his character. I mean, look at the way he was with the dancers last season, shy, awkward...he's not changed. I mean, I don't know how they're going to do this, of course, but if they have him suddenly seducing a gorgeous femme fatale they may as well chuck his character in the bin and rewrite it all together.

Probably he'll fall for her and she'll use him for the case. Or it'll turn out she becomes a suspect and everyone treats Greg like shit like they always do......*bitter* I mean, they couldn't possibly let one of the team be happy :p

Am I being dense? Does anyone know what "Fracked" would be in reference to?
