Seal it with a kiss (smack)

Thank you everyone! :) Since everyone loves Stella and wonders what happened to her. I wrote a bit more. Mel, please don't throw things, you know I'm a kind person, don't you?

Part 3

Mac and Danny were in the car, racing for the clinic.
“I don’t understand. Why did the text come from my cell?” Danny was agitated. He took out his phone and checked. “This is not my phone!”
“What do you mean?” Mac didn’t look at Danny. He was focused on the road. He wished he could fly to the clinic.
“A woman bumped into me this morning. I dropped my stuff. She helped me to pick them up. It must be her. She switched the phones. I didn’t check it when she gave it back. Damn! I was so stupid.” Danny punched the car door.
“The check up is a trap. They fooled Stella to believe she’s losing the babies. They planned to kidnap her from the beginning. They are smart enough to drag me away from her. We have to find her, Danny.”
Mac braked hard when they were arrived the clinic. They ran directly to the examination room. The nurse at the reception counter tried to stop them. Mac just flashed his badge but didn’t stop running.
Mac pushed open the door. A doctor and a nurse were checking up a patient, a man. They were shocked by the interruption.
“Where’s Doctor Eliza Benson’s room?” Mac asked the nurse.
“Would you step outside before I answer your questions, sir?” The nurse said politely but firmly.
Mac followed the nurse out. Danny, Flack and a few uniform officers were waiting for him. A man approached and introduced himself.
“I’m Doctor Josh Donavan. What can I help you, detective?”
“I’m Detective Taylor with the NYPD Crime Lab. I’m sorry, doctor. It’s an emergency case. My wife is scheduled to have a check up in this clinic. But she is kidnapped.” Stella was actually his wife in Mac’s heart. His heart was burning.
“Who’s your wife’s doctor?”
“Doctor Eliza Benson and Doctor Cameron.”
“Doctor Benson called in sick today. Our only Doctor Cameron passed away two months ago. Are you sure it’s Doctor Cameron?”
“I need Doctor Benson’s address.”
“I’m sorry, detective. I can’t…”
“My wife is missing and she’s pregnant. Please, doctor.” Mac raised his voice.
“Alright.” Doctor Donavan went to the computer.
Lindsay called. “Mac, I found Stella’s car. Here’s some sign of struggle. Her phone and other stuff were scattering around. I’ll process the scene and get the surveillance tape of the parking lot.”
“Be thorough. Keep me posted.” Mac ended the call and turned to Flack and Danny. “Flack, tell your men to question the staffs who work with Doctor Benson. And subpoena the surveillance tapes of these two weeks. Danny, you and Hawkes process the threat note and the cell phone. This case is our first priority. I need everything that can help to find Stella.”
Doctor Donavan gave Mac a piece of paper.
“Flack, you’re coming with me.” Mac called Flack when he was running to the car.
----------------------------------------
Stella woke up and disorientated. She sat up on the mattress and looked around the room. It was a room with no windows. No. There were windows but all of them were nailed up with timbers. There was no furniture. The mattress was on the floor. At the right hand side of the room was a toilet without door.
The next thing Stella noticed was someone had changed her into a nightgown. All her clothes and belongings were gone. Her left leg was shackled with a long metal chain connected to a hook on the wall.
“Hello, anybody here?” Stella cried out loudly but no one answered. “Hello?”
Stella recalled the memory of what had happened in the parking lot. She remembered went to the car with Mac. Mac got a message from Danny. He said he needed to go back to the lab first and he would pick her up at the clinic later. She put her stuff into the car after Mac left. Then…then she felt someone was sneaking up behind her. She turned and fought back with keys in hand. She believed she had scratched the attacker with her keys. Then the attacker covered her nose and mouth with a towel and then she was black-out.
“Detective Bonasera!” A man’s triumphant voice came from the other side of the door. His voice sounded familiar.
“Who are you? Why are you locking me up? What do you want?” Stella was enraged.
“Calm down! Detective. It’s no good to your babies.” The man laughed.
“My babies! You know about my babies. You’re Doctor Cameron.”
“You’re as smart as I always remember.”
“What do you want?”
“Don’t worry. I wouldn’t hurt you or your babies.”
“Yeah? So, why am I here?”
“I didn’t believe I was so lucky when you walked into that clinic. It took me two years to have this chance. At the beginning, I was planning to trick you into an abortion. I wanted to see you suffer from losing your babies. To see how miserable you are when you know that they are actually healthy. But I changed my mind. Lucky you! I would raise your kids. It would be so much fun to see the young Taylors, the heirs of the greatest Detective Taylor and Bonasera, become the greatest criminals in the world. Hahaha…”
Stella felt cold sweat covered all over her body. She took a few deep breaths and hoped she sounded calm enough. “Funny, you got into so many troubles just to make me miserable. Seven months are a long time. You think Mac and I would just sit there and wait to be humiliated?”
“I hope not. I love to see how this game plays out.” Stella heard him walking away but he came back after a few steps. “By the way, I have the keys you used to scratch me. So your boyfriend’s work would not be easy. Hahaha…”
Stella sat down and placed a hand on her abdomen. She was so happy to hear that her babies are healthy. She looked around the room again. There was no way she could get help from here. She decided to save her energy. She knew Mac would find her soon.

Hey.. I'm taking a break here for a few minutes. I'm glad that the "DOCTOR" didn't plan to harm Stella or the babies. And I love how Mac already called and treated Stella like his official Wife. :adore: Hopefully they'll find Stella soon though it might be a little bit difficult, I'm sure the technologies nowadays would help :). Seriously, as long as Stella is still in that creep's hand, there's a chance she might get hurt 'cause the creep can do whatever he wants. :(

Wow! You know this is honestly really scary stuff. I couldn't imagine going through what you're putting Stella through. But I think that with a man at my side like Mac I could get through anything. Props for keeping him in character as the great man I know that he is. Great job!

Asprine,
You need not to review everyday if you are busy, dear. This is just for fun, no rush. :)

lostladyknight,
Nice to meet you! :) You're right, Stella has nothing to fear with Mac in her heart. :)

Mel,
You're the most impatient girl I've ever met.

great update!! Oh poor Stella she has to go through so much!! I'm pretty sure Mac will find her :D good job!

Noo! What are you doing to Stella? *gasps out loud* are you crazy or something? :D Hope it'll be alright, but I'm with Mel, fix it!

Hoo hooo hooo.. I'll be the bad guy. "Kill all of them!" *Kidding* Crosses fingers.. Don't worry. Kikii is very kind and sweet, of course normal.

*clears throat* Kikii, Fix it!

Hi everyone! :) I'm happy Stella has all your loves. :) No worry there, I'm not a long-story teller as I told you. I'll fix it ASAP. Here's the update.

Part 4

Mac and Flack were outside Eliza Benson’s apartment. Flack knocked on the door.
“Doctor Benson, NYPD. We have a warrant to search your apartment. Open up.”
No answer.
Mac gave Flack a signal to kick down the door. They entered the apartment. No one was in the living room or kitchen. Mac took a peek into the bedroom before he got in. He saw a woman lying face down in the bed. Mac pointed the gun at her and moved forward.
“Doctor Benson?” No response. “Doctor Benson.”
Mac stepped closer to the bed when she didn’t response. He saw a lot of blood under the body, she was obviously dead. Mac replaced his weapon, put on the gloves and flipped the body over. There was a stab wound in her abdomen. Mac examined the body.
“No signs of struggle, no defensive wounds, she didn’t see it coming.” Mac started to check around the room.
Flack picked up a phone from under the dressing table. “Mac.”
Mac took the phone and rolled to the recent calling and message records. He showed Flack an unfinished message. “Danny’s phone. She was the one who switched the phones and send me the message this morning. She was typing a message to me. Unfortunately, she couldn’t finish. Her accomplice shut her down.”
“What now?” Flack asked.
“Get her computer to Adam. Have him check all her files and emails. You dig up her background. I’ll process this place.” Mac gave orders while he walking out to get his kit.
----------------------------------------
Hawkes just finished dusting the substitute phone. He found nothing on the surface and the battery except Danny’s prints but he retrieved a partial print from the inside of the back casing. He was putting the print into the scanner to run in the AFIS when Mac came in.
“Hawkes. Talk to me.” Mac walked in with an evidence envelope.
“I’m sorry, Mac. I found nothing except a partial print. It’s running in the AFIS now.”
“Here. I found a fabric on Eliza Benson’s skirt. Process it. That’s all I got. There is no fingerprint. The killer wiped everything clean. Keep me posted.” Mac hurried out to find Adam.
Adam was typing frantically on the keyboard. He was all serious. He was the second one in the lab who worried so much for Stella. She was like his elder sister. He worshiped her.
“Adam.” Mac called him from his back.
“Mac. Her files are all about medicals. Most of her emails were work related. But there was a guy, Josh Donavan. They had some intimate email exchanges. There are some digital photos.” Adam clicked on the photo file.
Mac looked at the photos and pointed at one of them. “Josh Donavan, he’s a doctor in the clinic. Print this photo, Adam.”
Flack, Danny and Lindsay walked into the AV room carrying several tapes in a box.
Flack put down the tapes and took out his notepad. “Eliza Benson, a.k.a. Eliza Davis, her parents died in an air crash when she was three. She was adopted by John and Macy Davis. John Davis was convicted manslaughter two years ago. He was killed in prison over a pack of cigarette. His wife committed suicide when she heard about the news.”
“Stella and I worked the case. So, this is all about revenge.” Mac said.
Flack continued. “Eliza changed her family name back to Benson when she graduated from college. She worked in that clinic for about one year. According to the staffs and patients, she was a good doctor. A nurse said Eliza had a mystery male visitor once in a while, no one had seen his face.”
“Danny, the threat note.” Mac nodded to Danny.
“It was a printed note. We have nothing to compare to without the printer. No prints, except ours, and no foreign substance attached to the note. But I found some yellow substance on the back of the envelope. It’s dried curry sauce.”
“I confiscated Benson’s printer from her apartment. I think it is the printer we are looking for.” Mac looked at Lindsay. “Lindsay.”
“Stella had fought back but I found nothing useful.” Lindsay shook her head.
“This guy is clever. He didn’t leave any trace behind. He knew us so well. He’s monitoring us.” Mac was furious.
Hawkes stormed in. “Guys, got a match on the partial. Greg Michaels, convicted robbery last year. Released three months ago. He’s working in an Indian restaurant now.”
“Flack, you and Danny pay a visit to Doctor Donavan. He and Eliza Benson were not just colleagues. Dig deeper into the relationship. Check up his whereabouts this morning. Lindsay, look back into John Davis’s case. See if he had someone else who wants revenge. Adam, watch the tapes. Start from last Monday’s when Stella was in that clinic. I want a face of the suspect. Hawkes, you with me.”

*needs to work on patience too* Loved how everybody is all concerned about Stella :adore:
great job btw

Thanks for the feedbacks, gals! :)

Asprine, you're right, we're getting to the interesting part REALLY REALLY SOON. ;) So, be patient! :)

Part 5

“Detective Bonasera, you’re so quiet. You don’t even cry, you don’t even yell at me.” Cameron said outside the door.
“This is your game. I’m not interested.”
“You’re good. I bet your kids are good too.” The door opened. Cameron walked in with a tray of food in one hand and a gun in the other hand. “You must be hungry. Your babies need nutrition.” He put the tray down in front of the mattress.
“Smell good.” Stella took up a bowl of soup and started to eat. “You’re watching me eat.”
“That’s right. I don’t want you to keep a fork or spoon or even chicken bones. Don’t mind me! I wouldn’t bother you.” Cameron leaned against the door.
Stella stared at him. “Cameron’s not you real name, is it? I should remember you if I had busted you before but I don’t. So this must be about your relatives or friends. Judging from your performance last time you checked me up, I believed you have medical knowledge. I wonder what caused a highly educated young man commits kidnapping. And murder, you don’t hind your face up that means you would kill me after the birth of my babies.”
“Maybe I would tell you when you’re dying. Eat. I don’t have time to play your game.” Cameron said slowly with a sardonic smile.
“Sure. I need to keep my babies healthy.” Stella shrugged and began to eat. “You know what? I should thank you. I have the chance to rest because of this.”
----------------------------------------
“Greg Michaels?” Mac flashed his badge and asked the receptionist at the Indian restaurant. The girl pointed to the kitchen. Mac put his hand on his weapon and went to the kitchen with Hawkes and other uniform officers.
Mac pushed opened the door. “NYDP. Looking for a Greg Michaels.”
One of the workers raised his hand. Mac motioned him to come forward.
Mac showed him the phone. “Recognize this phone?”
“What? Is it against the law to sell a phone?”
“If it’s related to kidnapping and murder, yes.”
“Hey. I have nothing to do with any kidnap or murder. I just sold my phone to a dude.”
“What’s his name? Where is he?”
“I don’t know his name. He had meals here several times. About a week ago, I was smoking outside. He said he likes my phone, so I sold it. I needed money.”
“I need you to do a sketching. Come with me.”
Flack called. “Mac, Donavan’s out of the picture. He admitted Eliza Benson was his girlfriend but he thinks she was seeing someone else. He was attending a convention this morning. Alibi checked out.”
It seemed the limited clues were all led to a dead end. Mac was frustrated. “I’m going back to Benson’s residence.”
----------------------------------------
Mac was in Eliza Benson’s apartment. He had processed it earlier today. Since they didn’t have much progress, he wished he could find something else here. He checked everything meticulously from the living room into the kitchen. When his flash light landed on the salad bowls in the cupboard, something caught his attention. He took a closer look. There was a yellow spot on one of the bowls, it was a fingerprint. Mac lifted the print and scraped the yellow substance. He continued to the bedroom but found nothing else. Mac went back to the lab.
