Found this article. It's from this February but I don't think I've seen it on here. It sounds like he likes playing the "bad cop" or the one always in trouble.

Maybe I'll have to remember that next time I get irritated with the writers for another "Ryan in Trouble" story. Good point about the challenge of portraying that type of character.

I kind of agree about Jon being hard on his character, I don't think of him (Ryan)as a creep at all.I certainly don't think the other characters are perfect.
