I'm not sure what I would make Ryan's back story like. I'd never really thought about it before, but apparently some of you have :lol:

I really like what greatfan said, and I could totally see it being possible. But I could also maybe see Ryan as the middle child of three boys. He is trying to be the role model to the youngest brother, while also trying to be like the older one.

Actually, all of these ideas sound good :D
 
I wrote a one shot once for Christmas, and the Ryan part of it included some backstory and I had to make it up since, of course, we know pretty much nothing about it. So that's the only reason I've thought about it before... :shifty:

These all sound very interesting. I've never actually thought up a scenario about his past. I've kind of been waiting for the CSI writers to just write it already! *grr* I really hope we get something about his past soon. I like the idea of Ryan being the middle sibling.
 
The only thing I've ever thought of was that Ryan's mother was gone... Since he liked being mothered by Alexx so much...
 
^^ Me too. He seems to get along with females better than males, so that's why I always imagined that he had a sister he's really close to.

I kind of pictured Ryan in a situation where he didn't get much attention, love or acceptance as a child and he just wants to be accepted and included.(that is why he seems to be so interested in the lives of his coworkers and he eats up the motherly concern from Alexx). Since he is OCD, he might be insecure, which explains why he is awkward with women he is interested in (see Sam in Sunblock--I personally find that trait kind of cute). I bet he followed his Uncle Ron, the only person he felt close to, to Miami to be closer to him (if Ryan was from Miami, it seems to me he would have wanted to check up his parents as well as his Uncle Ron during the tidal wave episode). Kids who don't get alot of attention or guidance will do things that seem to get them into trouble (gambling) or make questionable (to others) decisions. He decided to be a cop and ultimately a CSI to help people because deep down he is good kind honest and sensitive person.
 
For some reason I've always wondered if he related himself to the young kid in 'Death Eminent'. Maybe it was just Ryan being a nice guy, but I just thought maybe he saw himself in that boy who's family's home was being torn apart (the way he immediatly stuck up for him & threw a punch at the officer) -- bad childhood? broken home? Is he E.T having come back to Earth in the form of Ryan Wolfe? :wtf: It's fun speculating but it sure would be nice for tptb to actually fill in the blanks for us!
 
I never thought he was interested seriously in Sam. he's just a natural flirt like Cal. I will never believe he was interested in Sam (she's so not his type at all). Though his awkwardness when he was trying to ask out Natalia... yeah... very cute.

:lol: didn't have time to complete my thought before cause I had to leave for a bit. :lol:

I thought he was intrigued because he had never seen her before. It was a cute attempt though.

I'll have to go back and watch the episode he asked Natalia out (it's been awhile). He could ask me out any time:devil:
 
I definitely wouldnt turn him down, and even a night at the wrestling would be worth it!

Im loving all the backstory ideas. Ive had similar ones- that he is the youngest of the family, dead mother, demanding father. I think he and his father had a lot of differences and so he would spend alot of time with his Uncle Ron. I agree that he didnt get alot of attention in his childhood and that is why he sometimes 'acts out.'

I wish TPTB would give us something...........
