Riley/Lauren Lee Smith

Thanks for the welcome peeps.

So now I'm curious to know if she is going to have some interesing background or dark secret or anything?

Any thoughts?

I'm quite happy with her character as she is, dark secrets are over-rated. ;) Who knows though, but I think she has the potential to be an interesting enough character without too many out there storylines. :)

I have to say I already have a favorite scene with Riley in it,Aside from the first one with the doc I loved the most recent one when they were talking about face book.It cracked me up.I can almost see her looking to Doc Robbins as sorta of a father figure.Call me crazy,I can just see it happening.

I loved that scene. I liked Riley's first scene with Doc Robbins too. They do have a lovely rapport, which at first glance would seem unlikely as they should be totally different, but it completely works in my opinion. I'd be happy with a Riley/Doc Robbins scene in every episode. :)

Personally, I hope not. I think, at this point, it would probably be good to have a character that doesn't have a dark secret. Sara has the whole dark secret involving her parents and subsequent past. Grissom also lost his dad at a young age and had the oterosclerosis angle. Nick had the abuse as a child. Based on Greg's conversation with Grissom in 'Fannysmackin,' I get the impression that his mom might have had some serious issues. (I remember hearing what the name of that particular disorder is, where one is totally paranoid, in a hypochondriac-type way, but about one's children, but can't remember the name.)

Anyways, it'd be nice for Riley to just be the 'normal' one, or at least the one without a traumatic past.

Not sure about Riley's dark secrets if any. I think she may challenge Grissom more than the others since she was not trained by him.

MnM

Actually, I'm interested to see how they change Riley's behavior/attitude when Grissom leaves and Catherine becomes in charge of the team. I hope they don't change any of the nice chemistry that Riley has already developed with some of the team. I don't want them to turn her into the antagonist of the team like they did to Sara.

I agree. I mean I like the whole independent/confident thing but I don't want her to become this rogue CSI or anything.

And like most of you said, I hope there are no dark secrets or mysterious backgrounds. That creates way too much drama.

I hope that they don't give her any horrible secrets or anything bad, at least nothing that we find out about for a good couple of seasons (if CSI is still going then).

I like the chemsitry she's built up so far, and like kaylyne hope they don't change how it's going when Cath takes over.

I think she has more of Sara's traits, which is honesty, integrity a hard worker, smartness and sweetness, with a bit of fiesty thrown in. And I hope Cath doesn't start bossing her around like she tends to do with everyone:(

I would associate a lot of that more with Cath than with Sara. Cath and Riley both have spunk and confidence. I definitely can't imagine Sara saying those things about using handcuffs or keeping spare urine in her locker. Riley also definitely has Cath's flirtatiousness. And what do you mean by Cath bossing everyone around?

She is so cute.
Thanks for posting them Wojo :D

I'm really starting to like Riley's character. At first I was leary of new people on CSI. (I'm still on the fence about LF) but she is turing out to be a great addition to CSI.

I liked Riley from her first episode. I know a lot of people didn't like her right off, but I found her sense of humour, and her interactions with others to be very natural, realistic. I'm someone who usually takes a while to warm up to newcomers to an established show, but not this time :)

Thanks for the pics wojo . I was thinking i'd dislike her, but I also liked her straight away. I like her personality, and as you say her interactions with the others. she's definately a hit in my book :)

Thanks Wojo for those pics!

I really like Riley. She's really an interesting character and so fun. Definitely she's a good fresh air in the show. It's even hard to dislike her. She has great interactions with all team mates.

^ ^ Thats what it is, I agree Deirdre. She's like a breath of fresh air, something new to the show. And I'm loving her so far. She does have great interactions, and so far, her appearance has been nothing but positive :)
