Part Fourteen: Table Stakes
Sara sit in the break room at the crime lab catch up on case paperwork, because it been a very slow night, there has been no new case at all. She look up at the clock on the wall and see there is still four more hours till the shift ends. Sara sigh out loud, it was suppose to be her night off but Destiny call her and ask her to fill in for her because she has a very sore throat and was ache all over and was run a fever, so Sara come into work to cover her shift. The truth was Sara just want to go home and go to bed, because she has been have really bad stomach cramp, and the right side of her stomach hurt the worst. The Stomach cramps start about a hour into the shift. She close the case file she is work on and stand up hold her stomach and walk to Gil Grissom office and knock on the door.
Gil: come in
She open the door and walk in to his office and take a sit in a chair in front of his desk. Gil look up from his book at Sara and see her hold her stomach. He set his book down and get up and walk over to the front of his desk and sit down on the desk face Sara.
Gil: Sara are you feel ok?
Sara: yes and no, I’m not sick if that want you want to know I just have really bad cramp, can I go home, see that it die tonight.
Gil: sure, just remember you are on call tomorrow night, so keep you cellphone and pager on. Also do not forget your have to testify at Miss. Garris kidnap case.
Sara: Yeah I know, I have to give testify on the evidence I collect that say Chip Rundle kidnap her.
Gil: Ok, you can go clock out now.
Sara stand up from the chair she sit in still hold her stomach and walk to the locker room and clock out. She then goes to her locker and get her purse out of it and grab her car keys out of her purse. She then close her locker door and head out of the lab and to her car in the park lot. Once she has get into her car she turn it on and pull out of the park lot. On her way home she swing by Rit Aid and pick up a big bottle of Tums and a pack of twelve travel packs of Tums. After she pays for the Tums. She then goes back out to her car and take two Tums out of the bottle and puts in her mouth and chews them as she pull her car out of the park lot of Rit Aid and head home. Once at home Sara get into bed and curled into a ball and cry herself to sleep. The next morning Sara wake up to her alarm clock buzz in her ear, she hit the off bottom. She slowly get out of bed and walk into the living room, she make it as far as the couch and grab her stomach and fall down on to the couch because of stab pains that shoot through her stomach and because more painful on her right side. She pick up the phone and call Catherine to see if she could Testify on the Miss. Garris kidnap case for her. The phone at Catherine Willows house ring four time before Lindsey pick the phone up.
Lindsey: Lindsey Willows here, who I am I talk to?
Sara: Hi Lindsey It Sara Sidle a co-work of you mom.
Lindsey: Hi Sara, Do you know it June 4 and It my seven birthday today.
Sara: Yeah, happy Birthday Lindsey. Can I speck to your mom.

Gil has been try to get a hold of her since the Sheriff Antwater call and said he need all hands on deck but she has not answers her house phone, cellphone or pager, which is not like her at all.
Catherine: have you reach Sara yet Gil?
Gil: No, Can you try call her why the rest of the team and I go talk to Jim Brass.

Jim Brass: (Destiny, Warrick, Nick and Gil walk up to Jim) This is very bad Portia Richmond was kidnap from her own house when it was full off guest at her birthday party.

Meanwhile at Sara apartment, she hand just chew two more Tums and was lay in her bed curled up in a ball and is crying because the pain is so bad. When her cellphone start ring again she was tire of hear her phones ring so she pick her cellphone up and flip it open and take the call.
Catherine: Sara did I wake you?
Sara: (sniff) yes and no.
Catherine: Portia Richmond was kidnap at her birthday party at her house. Sheriff Antwater want the whole night shift at the scene.

Sara: Can you swing by my place and pick me up. I’m in to much pain to driver.
Catherine: Sure, Let me tell Gil and then I’ll be over to get you. I’ll come to your door to let you know I’m there.

Sara and Catherine hangs up and Catherine walk over to Gil who is talk to the Sheriff. Gil look at Catherine who has just clip her cellphone back on to her hip.

Catherine: yeah, I need to take one of the Suv to go pick her up at her place.

Catherine get into the suv she driver to the scene in and driver to Sara place. She pull into Sara apartment build park lot and park her car. She get out of her car and walk into the build and knock on Sara door. Sara open the door with her left hand and is hold her stomach with her right hand. Catherine look at Sara and see she is really pale and can tell she is also in a lot of pain.
Catherine: I carry you kit for you Sara.

They walk out to the suv and Sara get into the passenger seat and close her eyes and at the sometime put two more Tums into mouth and chew then. They get to the scene and Gil has Sara join Destiny and Warrick in is search the area around the pool. Catherine search the area by the gate into the backyard and Nick is drew the scene and Gil is talk to party guest. It take them three hours to process the scene. They pack up the suv then head back to the lab. Warrick and Catherine Goes to Trace to give Frankie the trace evidence they have. Gil take a hand towel that was find outside by the gate to toxic to see if they use some type of drug to knock Portia Richmond out. Nick, Destiny and Sara go to DNA and give him what needs to be run. Greg look up and Smile really big at the three CSI that enter the DNA lab.
Greg: God Sara and Destiny you both look like hell!
Sara: ( hold her stomach) Och, Greg do not start my Stomach kill me and I do not feel like be mess with to night.
Destiny: coughs, Just run the DNA for us
Greg: who going to sing my overtime or help me run it, they like two shift of DNA work here.
Sara and Destiny: deal with it, you are well rest, you just come back from a vacation.
Greg: (as the girl walk out of the DNA lab) Do you want a Valium for both of them?
Lady CSI: we hear that.
Nick walk out of the DNA lab and joins the Sara and Destiny in the break room. He see Destiny has lay down on the couch and fall asleep as soon as her head hit the arm of the couch and the couch pillow. He also see Sara has curled up into a ball in the chair across form the couch. Nick walk over to Sara and feel her forehead.
Nick: Sara you are burn up, what area of your stomach hurts the most?
Sara: (cry) my right side, it kill me Nick..
Nick: Sara I think one of us should take to the doctor in the morning.
Sara: ok, can you help me up Nick.
Nick: sure but way?
Sara: I need to use the restroom.
Nick sure
Nick help Sara up. Sara stand to walk to the restroom but pass out and fall to the fall. Nick run over and kneel down next to Sara to see she is unconscious. He try to get her to wake up but can’t. As he try to wake her up Warrick, Catherine, Gil, Sheriff Antwater and Greg walk into the break room and see Sara lay on the fall unconscious and that Nick can’t get her to wake up.
Nick: Cath call 911 now, she burn up and before she pass out she tell me her side was kill her.
911 operation: how can I help you
Catherine: (Destiny wake up as Catherine talk to 911) we need an ambulance at the crime lab right away CSI Sara Sidle pass out and is unconscious and we can walk her up. Before she pass out she said her right side was kill her.
911 operation: an ambulance is on it way it should be they any minute.
Catherine: thanks.
Sheriff: Y’all can fellow the Ambulance when it get here, I call in day shift to take over the case..

EMT get to the crime lab and head right to the break room and over to Sara and put her on a Stretcher. They put a IV in her left arm to give her Fluids and to give her medicine to reduce the fever. They then take out to the Ambulance and rush her to Desert Palm hospital. Once they the EMT take her right back to the ER and her co-work have to sit and wait for the doctor to come out and tell then something. A doctor come out a half hour later.
Dr. Post: My wife and co-work Mrs. Dr. Post has take your Co-work Sara Sidle into Emergency Surgery to remove her appendix, you are luck you call 911 when you did any longer and her appendix would burst on her then she would off been in a lot worst shape and it would take twice as long to recover from the Surgery. My wife will come out when she finish the surgery and let you know what her room number is.
CSI team: thanks.
Two hours later Warrick, Destiny, Gil, Nick, Catherine and Lindsey (Cath daughter) was sit at Sara bedside wait for her to wake up from surgery. Sara open her eyes and look around the room.
Sara: where am I at?
Nick: in the hospital Sara, you pass out, and I could not wake you up, so we call 911.
Sara: My right side hurt, and why I’m I still in the hospital, can someone take me home.
Catherine: No, you have to stay a couple day Sara. You had Appendicitis, the EMT get you here just in time, the ER doctor rush you into surgery and was able to remove you appendix before it burst.
Sara: how long to I have to take off work.
Gil: a whole week.
Sara: sigh, I had take time off work.
Nick: She so feel better then she was early tonight.
Sara: yeah I’m.
Warrick: We have to go now, the nurse is tap her wrist watch which mean that it time for as to let you get some sleep.
Sara: you come back in the morning right.
Everyone: yes
Lindsey: feel better Sara.

Her co-work leave and lets her get some sleep. The Next day the Doctor release her from the hospital, but will not let her stay at her house alone. So Catherine take her back to her house and help her into they guest room.
