You might have also seen him as Jack Jeebs in the Men In Black films, Fred kuan in Galaxy quest, another cab driver in Quick Change, and many other roles.

As we all know, Stanley Kamel passed away April 8th, now we have news on who the new Shrink is.

Hector Elizondo Shrinks to Fit Monk

Well, we kinda knew Monk couldn't go too long without an analyst, right? So, tragic as is the April 8 death of Stanley Kamel — aka the neurotic's Dr. Kroger — a USA Network spokesperson confirms to me exclusively that Hector Elizondo has been tapped to join Monk as Tony Shalhoub's new shrink. There's no word on how his character will be introduced, but he'll first turn up in the show's seventh season premiere on July 18.

On a related note, Elizondo's hiring would seem to signal that CBS' Cane is a goner.

So what's your take, peeps? Will you have a harder time adjusting to seeing Monk on someone else's couch than he will have being on someone else's couch? Or do you remember Elizondo so fondly from Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries that you're actually psyched to see him take a role on a show you actually watch?

Randy Disher: Her number came up.

Randy Disher: You painted yourself into a corner.

Good grief! He is turning into Horatio. Somebody get them a book of Lennie Briscoe's one-liners.

Tony Shalhoub looks to life after 'Monk'
Jan 10, 3:39 AM (ET)
By CARRIE ANTLFINGER

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Actor Tony Shalhoub says as much as he loves Adrian Monk, eight years portraying the obsessive-compulsive private investigator is enough for him.

The second half of the seventh season of "Monk" began airing Friday on the USA Network, and the Green Bay native will start shooting the last season in March.

"It's a great job, and I work with great people, and I really enjoy doing the character, but I think eight years is enough," he said in a phone interview Thursday. "I think we've kind of explored all the avenues we could possibly cover, and as much as I like the show and working on it, I really do want to think about moving onto whatever the next chapter might be."

Shalhoub appeared Thursday evening at the opening of RDI Stages in Milwaukee as a way to support Wisconsin's tax incentives for filmmakers.

Shalhoub also produces "Monk" and said he wants to produce more after the detective show ends.

"I think I want to keep acting, but I want to branch out and maybe be a producer on things I'm not acting in," he said.

He's on a three-month hiatus from the show now and will start filming his part in the independent film "Feed the Fish" next month in Wisconsin.

Shalhoub has won three Emmys and a Golden Globe for his work on "Monk" and is nominated for another Golden Globe in the ceremony that airs Sunday.

Congratulations to Tony Shalhoub on his Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy. Also to Gena Rowlands for her nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her appearance on Monk. Hope they do well at the Emmy Awards show.

Adrian Monk must be pleased that his show got an even number of nominations.

So does anyone watch this anymore? I know its in its last season as Tony wants to move on to other things.

For those who didn't see the episode in which Sharona returned to guest appear "Mr Monk and Sharona can be read about right here. and you can also take a look at Trudy's case file.

Will be in the next episode

Monk reluctantly adopts a dog while looking into the suspicious disappearance of its owner. Wallace Langham guest stars in "Mr. Monk and the Dog," Friday, October 30 at 9/8C on USA Network.
