Misc LIMS #1: Challenge1 "Supernatural" Voting!

I've received all of the entries :)

MISC LIMS 1 Challenge 1 No Brushes "Supernatural" Voting!

Voting Rules: (Please read)
~ Absolutely anyone may vote! You don't have to be an 'expert' ;)
~ Vote for the Top 2 of least quality, and the Top 2 of best quality.
~ Votes for least quality Must have a reason, or they will not be counted. Reasons for best quality are strongly encouraged

(the following examples may have been "borrowed" from other sources)

Good Examples:
34: Text is oddly placed
50: Icon is over sharpened
62: Image is too blurry

Poor Examples:
96: I don't like the colour (personal preference)
52: Tiny text/decorative brushes are unreadable (it's supposed to be that way)

Ooh, all of them are awesome. I dislike voting against but *sigh*.

Least:

03: Pretty blurry, and a little too bright. Not enough contrast.
09: They both look sort of stretched upwards, plus it's a little blurry and doesn't look like there was much colouring done.

Best:

20: Just really good colouring. It looks better with no text or anything on it too.
02: Really cool colouring, I love it.

09: The aspect ratio is off, making the character look stretched.
14: Contrast is a bit much, the cheeks and nose are too shiny which is distracting from the icon.

Best
02. Nice and sharp with an interesting crop. Great colouring too.
24. Great crop with really nice colouring. The icon really stands out.

they are all good! i really hate voting..but alas it is an essential part of the process...

Least Quality:
3: good crop, but the cap is a bit oversharpened in areas.
17: the text is a bit oddly placed. perhaps if it was vertical instead of horizontal. ormaybe a different font(although bleeding cowboys is one of my faves :) )


Best Quality:
20: Amazing crop. Great use of selective coloring-you didn't over do it, sometimes less is more. love.
24: again great crop. simple, and awesome coloring.

03- A little blurry/grainy
14- a little too dark and the shine on the nose is a bit distracting.


Best

13- Love the coloring and the background
17- Great crop and I love the font. Bleeding Cowboys is one of my fave fonts too. :)

09 - the idea is cool, but I see too streched faces especially Dean's one.
04 - too blurry.

02 - great crop and very interesting coloring :thumbsup:
20 - very simple, yet effective thanks to the great coloring ;)

09 The cap has been stretched too much.
12 The text is oddly place, there's too much background space.

10 The icon is beautifully put together, everthing works for me.
16 Great cropping and use of font.

14 - Odd coloring, it is too dark and it has too much green/yellow on it.
09 - Should have more coloring, can't see a difference and the cap is stretched, especially in Dean.

BQ:
24 - Great coloring and crop :eek:
02 - Same as above, great coloring and crop :)

03 - too blurry
01 - for me it's looks like there's nothing done to the cap, it looks too plain

BQ:

22 - love the cropping, colouring and use of text! :)
24 - love the unique crop and crispness of the icon!

This is the part I hate because everyone always does such a good job.

Least:
09 - The brightness/contrast makes the color look too washed out and it does appear to be stretched too much.
14 - The contrast is a bit too much which makes it look too dark.

Best:
02 - I love the crop and the coloring on this one.
10 - I really like this one. The cropping, coloring and font work really well together.

4. I feel like the text overwhelms the image and, between the coloring, the stroke and the font, doesn't really fit the image. Also, the image could be brighter; he looks a bit too gray.

19. I really admire the idea of this icon, but it feels like the idea ends up overwhelming the subjects of the icon. There's some weird blurring going on behind their heads and the text behind the first names has a strange blurring effect as well. Overall, the icon has a bit of a disconcerting, dizzying effect because of that, IMO. There faces just aren't very clear. The '&' sign is the thing that really stands out. Because of the black and white, their faces, especially Dean's, seems to blend in too much with the background. Overall, they fade into the background too much.

Best:

10. Interesting crop, good balance of light and dark, and the caption is funny and tastefully executed. I am in awe of the aesthetics of this icon and the way the text and the black kinda-border just works.

2. Gorgeous coloring. Just gorgeous. I can't find any other words to describe it. Also, I really like the crop. All of my attention is immediately diverted toward his face and, in particular, his eye, which works really well. Awesome job!

4 - it's too blurry and not enough contrast
19 - nice idea but effect is too blurry

Best:
24 - nice cropping and coloring
2 - great dark coloring, nice cropping
