Hi, Taylor Girls!
I've been getting quite a bit of Mac lately - s6 doesn't start here till January and in these cold winter months I needs me weekly Mac-dose. I've rewatched Like Water for Murder - love his interactions with Quinn in that episode. One thing I love about Mac is how he works with strong women and doesn't act like an a-hole about it. What I mean is, he seems to enjoy working with strong women who are prepared to challenge him - Stella and Quinn for example, and he challenges them back. I enjoyed the banter between him and Quinn and how he didn't seem bothered by her being there inspecting the lab. I also thought it was very interesting to learn he kissed Quinn when married to Claire. It was a very wrong thing to do, but I really liked both how much he seemed to regret it, and that we got to see he is flawed and human. As for Quinn, yes, it was wrong of her too to kiss him, but I really couldn't blame her, I mean this is
Mac we're talking about! I also love the Mac/Reed stuff in both LWFM and Personal Foul which I just finished watching because I love how they interact and how Mac is like a father to Reed, also I like it because it's not often we get to see Mac talk about Claire on a personal level (when he mentioned her in Blink and Greater Good, it was connected to a case he was working) with people he's close to, indeed, he hardly ever talks about her, so it's always interesting to learn bits, and every time he mentions her, you can see how much he misses her. I like episodes like Personal Foul and Greater Good also because we see in those episodes how his losing Claire on 9/11 influences his reaction to certain case. In PF, he is clearly moved by the call he received from Melvoy's widow, and frustrated that he can't give her any answers and is struggling to catch the man who killed her husband. As for the scene in Greater Good, when he talks about Claire to Maris's mother, I LOVE that scene. I really like how honest he is with her, when he talks about how he wishes he could tell her one day she's going to stop imagining her daughter's waiting at home, but he can't, and how sometimes for him, 9/11 seems like yesterday and sometimes like a long time ago. Mac is not good with emotions, but in that scene, I think he found the right way to reach out to a grieving woman. That scene clearly shows that all these years on, he clearly still misses Claire very much, and I think that's very realistic and adds a very nice touch of emotion to Mac.
I also like that he told her he wasn't going to go after her for plotting to have Talmedge and his daughter killed, Mac's quite a black-and-white guy when it comes to justice and the law, but in this episode, with both Maris's mother and Talmedge Neville and his daughter, Mac showed compassion and seemed to recognize a gray area of justice. I do think his losing Claire, and the closeness he felt to Maris's mother because of that, was why he chose to let her go. I like too that he kept to the 'upholder of the law' part of his character by warning her if she broke the law again he wouldn't hestiate to go after her. I think it showed that Mac is capable of compassion (that is one thing I have always thought about him, he might not be as openly sympathetic as say, Danny or Stella, he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, but he does have compassion for people affected by crime) but also he is not someone you should mess with.
Re Personal Foul, I love the scene where Mac talks to Stella and actually expresses uncertainty as to whether they'll catch the Cabbie Killer. He's so confident normally, it was really interesting to see how frustrated and worried he got with the whole Cabbie Killer case. I liked seeing how hard it was for him being the leader of the team and getting all the flak from his bosses and the mayor's office, that was realistic too and there's something very hot about Tired/Frustrated/Worried Mac, he makes me want to take all that stress away for him, take him to a nice quiet room with a bed and....well, you guys can guess what would come next!
I also watched Admisssions, I like the chemistry between Mac and Gerrard, and how Mac overcomes his dislike of Gerrard to help him and talk to him with when his daughter gets involved in the case. That final scene where Gerrard shoots the rapist (good for him!) and Mac enters the interrogation room is a brilliant moment, even though there are no words I think there's a real understanding between the two in that moment and maybe that Gerrard understands why Mac broke protocol and chased Dobson onto the roof and got into a fight with him back in s3. Only sad thing about that eppy is that it probably means we won't see Gerrard again which is a shame because Carmen Argenziano (sp?) who played Gerrard and Gary were very good in all their scenes together.
I love seeing Pissy!Mac in PF, getting all mad and determined to catch the Cabbie Killer, love the scene where he tells Stella and Hawkes they're going to catch the guy even if they have to work 'around the damn clock'. Mac does
not like bad guys messing with
his city, and that is hot.
I don't think there's anything sexier in the world than a man protecting an infant.:drool:

i do love that shot of him in
right next door when he comes out of the building with the child and waves at the police not to shoot. that's kinda hot.
but generally i totally disagree, personally i'd rather see a man protecting (and sharing of course!) a bottle of booze and a packet of cigarettes, haha, this is why i'll never have kids!
I think both are hot. I do love the whole baby scene in Greater Good, not only because he looks really hot and cute holding the baby, but also because of how he smiles when Danny texts him to tell him the baby has come and how touched and proud he is when Danny and Lindsay ask him to be godfather, he has such a cute little smile, and his eyes light up, and he seems a little unsure of himself.
I do agree with Lisa though, Smoking Mac is just
hot beyond belief, and personally, I'd rather share a beer with Mac than a kid! I want Mac all for myself, thank you, I'm not sharing him with some kid! LOL! Well, maybe I will share him with you guys....when I'm finished with him!
Thanks to Blue, Sam, Jools and Jade for sharing all the lovely pics. I especially like the one of Mac and Stella/Gary and Melina Jade posted in post #116, but all the pics are lovely. If anyone else posted pics, thanks also! Love the 'butt pics' especially!
I love the new thread title!
