I have a few questions about Mac, is it ok to post them here? If not, I'm sorry, not sure where to put them. We know he lost his wife in 9/11. Now I haven't seen seasons two and most of three yet so I might have missed it but how long were they married? Where was she on 9/11, was she in one of WTC buildings and why? I have to admit, my background on Mac is seriously lacking!
Okay I will come out of lurk mode.. Sadly info on Claire Conrad and her marriage to Mac is sadly lacking. We assume Claire worked in the Twin Towers but we have never actually been told this, but its a pretty safe assumption. If she had been one of the emergency services, i.e. paramedic, fire or police, I think the writers would have brought that up by now. Or brought it up when Reed (Claire's son) turned up. All we do know is that her body was never found, so there is no grave.
Also we don't know how long they had been married when she died.
Hope this helps..... Feel free to ask more questions we will be happy to help..
On a side note..
I would love to have a good ep (no OTT
Claire is alive crap please writers) where something of Claire's is found, possibly the wedding ring, great opportunity for some emotional scenes from Mac, and some closure for him and Reed. But I am not sure if I would trust the writers to handle it right.
In 'Consequences' Mac said that Claire was 'in the World Trade Center' on 9/11 and I always assumed he meant she worked there, like FB, I don't think she was with the Emergency Services that responded, they surely would have mentioned that by now.
I would love a story where something of Claire's is found and Mac has to deal with all that that would mean. It would make for some great Mac/Reed interaction. I really hope too that the writers won't do the 'Claire is alive' thing, that would be stupid, disrespectful to people who lost someone in 9/11, unrealistic and a waste of potential character development.
I love seeing Mac talk about Claire, though almost every time he does, I feel so sad for him.
Gary Sinise puts such emotion into those scenes, it's incredible. I love angsty Mac.
I think it's very possible that something of Claire's could be found, even a wedding ring. I read a book that included the story of a 9/11 widow, her husband's body was sadly never found but his credit cards were. So even if a body isn't found, tiny personal things can be.
I was intrigued when we discovered Claire's body was never found (and, God, that scene at the end of Some Buried Bones makes me ache for our poor Mac, and for RL people in that situation
) and I just hope the writers do something good with it.
Here are some pics of Mac at the end of Some Buried Bones. I wanna make him feel better so badly...
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
and here are some more from Some Buried Bones which is just
nice...Mac in black leather, mmm.:drool::drool:
^Eye porn. Also, his line in this pic/scene is 'Will you step into my parlour...' (you know, the rhyme that continues 'said the spider to the fly') and all I thought when he said that was 'Oh yeah, and your bedroom too, Detective...'
I'm back on the Internet at home, guys! So I thought I'd bring some pics along as well as a bit of 'serious character discussion'. As you can see, it didn't take me long to fall into the gutter though. It's so slippery around here what with all the drool...
All pics from CSI Caps.
Oh, and here is a pic of Claire, if you're interested,CSI Stokes Girl. It's the one and only screen cap I ever did myself, so it's not great. It's from Sweet 16 (season 3) -
She looks really pretty, the same 'type' of pretty as the women we've seen Mac show interest in. Mac has an eye for the ladies, and the ladies have an eye for him!
Gorgeous pics, everyone. Those s5 ones are very yummy, especially the one where we can just see the black t-shirt.
Sam222, I agree that what makes Mac intriguing is that even after 4 seasons there are still things we don't know about his past. That definitely adds to his attractiveness for me, as does the fact that there's a certain 'darkness' to his character, a sort of sadness and loneliness along with a sense of danger. The 'dangerous' part of Mac we see when he gets pissy with a suspect or when he goes all kick-ass Marine. Mac's the kind of cop I would want on my case if I was a victim, but who I really would NOT want after me if I was a criminal (much as I would like him to cuff me:devil
. Gibbs from NCIS and Jack Malone from WAT are the same way. I like that in my TV men. But there are many other 'sides' to Mac too - as we've seen over the years he has a very sweet side to him, and humourous side, he has loyalty, dedication to the job, integrity, honour, and just like everyone else he has his flaws too. I think Mac is one of the most well-developed and interesting characters on all 3 CSIs. And he's definitely the hottest.
