I was actually beginning to like Sofia at the beginning of this episode.
She really put the camera crew in its place, she interrogated the victim while still being quite respectful.
And I've never particularly had a problem with her accent.
Then the clevage scene.
And believe you me - since I think Louise does a great job, I will blame this on dialogue.
I have a hard time believing that hard-ass Sofia is going to giggle and smile when her boss sexually harasses her by asking her to pull out her boobs to interrogate someone.
While I've never loved Sofia, I have had a respect for her work ethic in the past. She did slip up in ABRTI, but that was definitely a special circumstance.
This felt very artificial to me, and very tasteless.
And I'm equally upset with Brass's behavior.
This isn't some skewered girl power complex, but it was more that it had followed this really dramatic scene where she was with a rape victim, and although she was "doing it" for this woman, it still came off (to me) as being very tacky.
I do have to say I LOVE that Louise and Jorja have gotten the writers to stop injecting every script with the little "cat-fight" comments (anyone who read Jorja's interview a while back will remember that she said that she and Louise don't like playing those).
And I was very happy to see the two being quite cordial to each other.
But again - they really take Sofia through the mud quite a bit - between the cat-fighting and this.
At the base is a strong, independant woman, and yet they continue to slip in these unnecessary 'blonde' moments.
