Jake/Johnny #1: 'So Distracted By That Guy'

:shifty: you brought some interesting points, especially the fact he can always come back with every kind of story.

I both enjoy this aspect of his character and hate it.

I hate it because I'm always like "when he'll come back? How it will happen? What will happen when he come back? Will he leave again?"
On the other hand, I have to enjoy it 'cause his character is so versitile and I'm glad it's Johnny who plays Jake. I don't think you could see another character like Jake in any other show :p

As for his return:
He can come back because something happens to Cal.
He can come back because of his lovely Krypt King "gang".
Ha can come back because his UC period expired. If I'm not wrong, it should have been 6 months up to a year. So this period can end soon ;)
I still think we should see him soon, at least far before the end of the season ;)

Good lord if they pull that one out again I. will. screammmm. It should be a done deal...should've been a long time ago.

I don't know who that is. But, I always thought he kind of reminded me a little of a young Johnny Depp. The way JD looked on Jump Street and Elm Street is very similiar to JW. The hair especially.
Oh yeah, I can see that in the hair. He reminds me of a cross between that & Matt Dillon (his early roles from the 80's). I think it's his brown eyes & lips...I don't know maybe it's that "bad boy" image :p

Now that you can say that, I can see the resemblance! I never could figure out who he looked like.

I liked Jake when he first showed up, but I never really got into the whole detective thing. Just seemed a bit wrong for the character. I would like to see him come back and at least get some kind of idea what's going on with him lately. I didn't like that he just suddenly seemed to disappear.

Well actually, this is one thing I've never understood and, probably, I won't.

I mean he was introduced in "Going Under" as an UC whose collegue was murdered. It also looked like he wasn't that clean as if he was some sort of Ray Caine.
Then, suddenly, he became a detective for the MDPD and we all know that his cover got blown up because of Calleigh's investigation in "Going Under". He also mentioned it.
My only problem with the detective stuff is that they never showed him as a 100% good guy. In every episode he had to make something odd or tell something bad which made him look a "bad cop" who always jumped on conclusions.
This, actually, can be pretty good for a character for some episodes, but not for all the episodes. In the end it was pretty boring this side of his character (btw, IMHO, it was also pretty inconsistent with Jake's character).

Now they changed everything and, suddenly, his UC has never been blown up.
This is weird. I mean it looks like his detective career wasn't good enough for TPTB to go on with this storyline, so they decided to go back to the origins of Jake's character and put him as an UC, again. In the same gang as before, again

That's what I really can't understand about his character and the way it was written.
I'm sure they could have come up with something farr better for an actor like Johnny.

It made it seem like even the writer's themselves weren't sure what to do with Jake. They tried this, then that, then something else and nothing really seemed to fit quite right. Maybe that's why they sent Johnny back to playing his original roll, because the writer's haven't quite found a suitable "character" for his awesome level of acting talent yet.

Thanks for the video too. Johnny and his glasses again, and I can't believe they let him control the camera :p
I like Johnny's little wave he does at the end

Ok, before anyone views that clip they should beware it might not be for our young viewers.
That was too hilarious!!! "saggy ass" / "if this thing sat up, I'd s**t myself" :guffaw:I love this man!
I don't think I've ever heard him laugh before. It's...cute. :p

Onto Jake. The guy just has a great prescence on this show - he's so natural & realistic, even if they did make him one way, then another, & then another. Typically that is the way people really are. I mean, I can be sweet one minute & turn to bitch in a heartbeat, so hey...more power to him!!! ;)
Not that I think he can be a jerk because I honestly haven't seen it , but the way tptb made him so "uncertain" is what I think is one of the best qualities in a character - he's enjoyable to watch, he's human, & he's not perfect - that is an awesome character.

Thank you, Florry, for posting that vid, it was hysterical! Love the comments, love the glasses, love him! What's not to love?

At this point, I'd just like to see them bring Jake back, I don't really care what he does, be it detective, undercover agent, or even bad guy. Whatever role he assumes, he'll do a great job with it. He'd also be a welcome presence since these days there's way too much going on in Miami that I don't like, rather than I do like.

Enough people must like him (or his character) to have voted him Favorite Male Guest Star in the newest issue of the CSI Miami Mag, so clearly we can't be the only ones who hope he returns.

I'd like to see a meaty scene between he and Horatio. Although they shared a few scenes (usually at the beginning of an ep) I'd like to see something more between them, kind of like what we saw in Going Under and Internal Affairs. I'd also like to see some interaction between he and Wolfe since they've never shared a scene and I can't really imagine how well they'd get on. And how about a scene between he and Natalia? It's a crime how little she has had to do this season, so it would be a nice change of pace for her. Personally I'd love to see how they'd get on since they've had zero interaction since he arrested her. He could really add some zing to the dynamics of the show. There really is no character quite like him.

I didn't know that, so thank you. It is good to hear, & rather surprising really considering he's not the most popular on these boards. :p

I'd like to see it too. For some reason though, I don't think he'd butt heads with Ryan. As for Natalia, well, we all saw how they interacted & quite frankly it cracked me up. I'd love to see them interact just one time to see if they'd be nice to each other after all that went down in 'Internal Affairs'. I loved it all the same though cause both the characters have that side that can always go either way with thier attitudes. I'm pretty sure they would butt heads.

Gosh I've been busy for a while with RL and look at here .

Everyone exiceted because of this clip. You're all welcome :D

Exactly the feeling I have whenever I see Jake. They tried lots of storylines for him and changed all of them.
Hopefully this UC stuff will end soon and he'll be back as a detective, I really miss him in this role.

I don't think I've ever heard him laugh before. It's...cute. :p[/url]
I wish we could see also Jake laughing, I think that would be cute.

As much as I want to see him with the same personality in every episode (obviously as the good guy), I have to agree.
I think that prince charming doesn't exist and even if this is a TV show, quite honestly, I don't want to see them just because I know you can't find the perfect man.
Jake represents every good man in the best way. He's a good person who sometimes finds himself in troubles and sometimes sounds cocky, but he's a human being.
Plus he's "a special human being" as that widow said to Calleigh in GU. He's an UC agent and I think it's pretty difficult for him and I kinda love the way they portray him as the UC guy ;). I think it looks realistic.

Well what's happeneing in Miami leaves me :wtf: and in moments like these I do miss him more than the usual. So yeah I would love him back even as a bad guy, at least he would be back and Miami would look far more interesting than it looks (especially after the last episode).

And this is such a great news to hear. Thanks!
I've always thought he's a great character and even the fact lots of people hated him...well let's say that I found it good. I mean it was like saying "he's interesting, after all. He gets your attention". IMO, that's quite important for a character on a show, he got lots of people's attention

Totally agree and I do think he'll perfectly fit with everyone of this team.
Too bad that we didn't have that much of Natalia and I do think it would be nice to see him sharea scene with her, after all if I'm she knows him and it would be pretty cool to see her reaction after "Internal Affairs". Maybe she'll slap him, that would be pretty hilarious

As for Ryan, I'd love that too.

That was great! Thanks for posting that Florry! Johnny cracks me up, how fun would it be to be on a movie set with him? Or anywhere with him? ;) I saw the movie but never the behind the scenes thing with Johnny so that was new and wonderful!
I watched that movie and I loved his character, but yeah "behind the scene" stuff is always great :)

I definitely get that David Boreanz vibe from him... I can see Emile Hirsch too. Both are great-looking guys, so it's a compliment to all :)

Hopefully we'll see his return in this season, but I'm not so sure.
Maybe TPTB will leave us with a cliff-hanger...

When Jake comes in on his motorcycle and saves the day!
Or maybe they'll re-open the whole love triangle thing and make Calleigh choose between Jake and Eric.

Oh I just miss his motorcycle!!!!
It was a really nice touch for his character. I can't wait to see his return 'cause I'm sure he'll come back :p

Mmmm....MJ likey a man on a motorcycle! Especially when it's Jake Berkely, heehee.
Oh hey, I can hear his Harley now. Yep, he's close to Miami.....well in my head he will be, haha. :p
