I don't want them to make Jake a villian or a drug abuser, etc. To me, that would be as bad as making Ryan a bad guy (Jake is one of my faves). I would hate it and it would come very close to force me to stop watching the show. As for him being killed and the gang being suspect numero uno and the real killers being the cops that put him undercover, that would be okay though I prefer they didn't kill him off. Maybe he could fake his death like Ray did (with the foreshadowing about him being like Ray) only his story would have a happy ending in that he doesn't actually get killed later on like Ray did. [...] I like the rebelious part of his personality, but only to an extent. In the good rebelious way, not the bad.
LoL, fair enough.
I like the bit about him faking his death to parallel him to Ray and kind of continue what Horatio was talking about though I'm wondering if the 'faking death' thing has been way too overdone on Miami. Of course, gangs and people going darkside is way too overdone as well.
But as for the cops killing him, they could do a story where he found out they were dirty and was going to blow the whistle on them and they killed him to keep him from doing so. Though like I said, I really really prefer they don't kill him off OR make him bad (in any way).
If you wanted the option where they didn't kill him off, it could be where the cops were planning to kill him or tried but didn't succeed. So his dignity would still be in tact (because he was going to blow the whistle on corruption) and they'd still get their man. There could be all sorts of emotional turmoil going on in his head that we would get to see. Ie: struggling with turning them in or not saying anything because cops are like bretheren and he'd never be trusted again.
