Can anybody tell me what, if any, the difference is between Paint Shop Pro 9 and Painter IX? Are they the same program, or are they completely different? Thanks!

Hi, I need some help.. How do you make animated avatars and banners? what program can you use. I know how to make normal avatars with photoshop.

Can someone help? I'm currently using Windows Movie Maker to make animated banners/icons, but I can't seem to save it in any format other than .MMSWM, which is incompatible with basically everything. I've tried using the drop-down menu when I save to change the format, but it only offers the one type. Does anyone know how I can change the format so that I can make animated banners? Thanks so much!

You can make animated icons and banners with Image ready, which comes with Photoshop. So, you should have it on your comp already ;)

check out here for some animation tutorials with photoshop's image ready.

4ENSIX: I don't think you windows movie makes is a program to make animated banners and icons with. It won't be able to give you the option to save it as a GIF cause it is for movies.

All you can do is to make caps with it by hitting the camera icon. Mainly it depends on the icon you'd like to make, but you need 15-20 caps. Then open them in Photoshop (or whatever you have), set them as layers in order, and make the animation :)

LoveCSI, I highly recommend Photoshop. CS2 is quite slow and freezes sometimes, bu it's easy to handle.

Help! I've finally taken the time to learn how to do animations (actually, it only took me a few minutes :)) in photoshop. The only problem I'm having is that I can't change the frame delay time. It's suck on the default .2 seconds, and it makes my eyes hurt :( Can anyone help me with this? I've tried everything I can think of.

Okay, I've figured it out. If there's anyone else out there using Photoshop Elements 4.0 on a Mac, this program has a glitch, and at this time, there is no patch for it. However, there is a way around it.

This was found on google:
"AHA! One of my kids in the classroom discovered a way to change the frame delay! When you "Save for Web," change to GIF and check the Animation box, go to DELAY and instead of clicking in the box to change the number of seconds, move your mouse to the area just below the box. When the arrow changes to a cursor, the number "0.2" seconds can now be changed!"

It can be a bit tricky to find the right place to get the cursor to show up, but it really does work :)

Which photoshop.. I have photoshop 6.0, which is probally an old version.. :(

Image ready comes with all photoshops I think, but you can check in programs if you got it. Photoshop 6.0 is pretty old as photoshop CS2 is out now and soon photoshop CS3 will be out.

But aslong as you can make graphics with it that's what counts ;)

Not sure where else to put this, so I'll just ask in here. For animated banners, what's the file size limit?
Thanks ;)
