Revitalize, you ask? But the show has been great this season! Well, at least I think so, overall. But fourth season is right around the corner, and there's no time like the present to start thinking about what we'd love to see! And if you're not happy with the show...what would you like to see!
It's a little early, yes, but the shows go on hiatus soon so it's fun to start thinking about this now before the long, dead summer season. Sometimes you can actually hear crickets chirping in here. Well, sometimes that's just midnight, but still.
Beware spoilers--this topic is open to what we know of the final eps!
Here's my wish list:
Mac apparently has a nemesis in Gerrard. Play it up, please! But make it original. I loved Gerrard's frank line about how he was pissed off both because what Mac did put him in a sticky situation AND it made him look bad. Shades of grey are great. If we understand where Gerrard is coming from, all the better.
Can't wait to see the upcoming eps about Mac's reputation being tarnished and seeing how he deals with it. Would love to see that carry into next season.
I'd love to see a storyline for Stella that focuses on her strengths and doesn't victimize her (ie, no more bad, psycho boyfriends!). The AIDS plotline has been interesting, save for the fact that the likelihood of Stella testing positive given her leading lady status is is about .00001 %.
Please, delve deeper into Hawkes' medical background! I loved when he was clashing with his mentor in "Mrs. Azrael," and addressing what made him leave surgery. More, please!
Lindsay--well, it's no secret that I think the best thing that could be done with Lindsay would be to write her out of the show, but if no one's willing to do that, keep her in the lab as much as possible, please. She really is little more than Danny's love interest, but her moments in the lab are when the character is at her best. Surely Adam isn't the only person in the lab who gets to geek out on a regular basis???
Speaking of Adam and the supporting players like Hammerback and Peyton--they're awesome. More, please!
Flack needs more screentime. And, um, it seems pretty apparent at this point that he's got it bad for Danny. There's a myriad of evidence that Flack's feelings for Danny are more than friendly: the way he looks at Danny, the way he put his head in his hand when he heard Danny was trapped in the panic room for 13 hours, the way he rushed to be by Danny's side in "On the Job," the way he looked at him and vowed "We" won't be going anywhere in RSRD, the nicknames (Dan, Danno, Mess)...the list goes on. And now hearing about how he's going to offer to trade himself for the hostages in the finale? It would be groundbreaking and fascinating and wholly unique (among crime dramas, among CSI shows) to see a homicide detective realizing he's fall in love with a male colleague. And it would make for great TV.
Sounds like Danny's going to get worked over pretty badly in the finale. Let's see the Drama Queen come back in season four! He's been far too sweet and even-keeled this season. That doesn't make for great TV. Whiny, angsty Danny does.
Those are my thoughts for now. What are yours?
