I guess with regard to this topic, the question that's more pertinent now is probably "Has Lindsay been effectively integreated into the CSI team?" I guess I'd say sort of, but the only characters she seems to have any real bond with are Mac and Danny. She's worked with the others very little, and hasn't that I've seen really connected with them personally. It would probably be helpful if they did sweep the romantic stuff to the side for a while in favor of actually developing her character and her relationship with all the members of the team, not just Danny.
I totally agree with you. I'd like to see her working with Stella more. I loved the scene in "Heroes" when Aiden and Stella hug themselves. They were so close. I don't feel the same with Lindsay.

But I've seen Anna Belknap try to do angst, and she just can't. She comes across and shrill and wooden. So unless she's gotten more comfortable with the character over the hiatus, I'm still skeptical.

I saw her play victim in Law and Order SVU and that worked fine. But here, with the badcop, aggressive interrogator and all that -- it's there, but it comes across cold and bland. In other words, you know that the actor is acting -- coz it's stiff and unnatural.

The only scenes she has are with Mac and Danny. TPTB pushed her so much to be with Danny. Them forcing the two together gave less time for her own character development. She became just another pawn in Danny's story. And most importantly, just a simply replacement CSI for the spot Aiden left. Her character development didn't even have a whisper until the last minutes of "Stealing Home".

Mac's line saying "I think she'll blend in well" - or something to that effect has not quite happened yet, IMO. Whenever Lindsey's working with them, she's like a stand-out, with a bull's-eye on her back. Or like my cousin would say about herself, a blonde in a sea of brunettes.

I liked the friendship between Aiden and Stella, too, Nim. I'd like to see if Stella and Lindsay can develop a bond of their own. We've seen them work together a couple of times, but I haven't seen a deep connection yet. And I do think that's because the pairing with Danny took such a precedence over everything else. I think that kind of hurt both Lindsay and Danny's characters in the second half of the season, because we were really just seeing them in relation to each other, and not really anyone else (save for Mac and Danny in RSRD). It was a poor choice to introduce that so heavily so early in Lindsay's character's development. I think she still sticks out kind of awkwardly, and not in a good way.

I agree with Top, Aiden and Stella had a great relationship, and I think Stella and Lindsay are building one, but I'd like them to work together more or talk more, stuff like that, they'd have a great relationship I think.

You know, I have to agree with you on some points, Top. I do wish that they had shown Lindsay in deep connections with other characters other then Danny.
I do think that she had some connections with Mac earlier in the seasons, yet as the season went on, they kind of developed the 'I'm just your employee' type thing.
Although I love Danny and Lindsay, I wish they had given more playful scenes with Lindsay other then Danny and Hammerback!

On one hand, I can see how Lindsay could adjust to NY from a small city. I moved from a small town in upper Michigan to LA in the late 80s during the rock era, and I jumped right into it business-wise, with no problem. On the other hand, I wasn't in Lindsay's type of business, either. I can see her bumping heads for awhile and then getting along with her co-workers eventually, but it was, IMO, unrealistically seamless. They focused, IMO, too much on Lindsay vs Danny, when realistically the biggest impact would have been Lindsay vs Mac (Her Boss), or even vs Stella, being the only other woman, and a big sister of sorts to Aiden. They virtually ignored those aspects in favor of D/L. No need to follow so closely in CSI/Vegas's footsteps so quickly, puh-leeeze (NOTHING against D/L whatsoever, I just think it should be done the right way, if done at all). I am heartened though, by Anthony Zuiker's claim that they are learning from their past mistakes, and making up for (some of) them in the next season. It's still not too late to show some fallout with Hawkes being so new in the field. It's not too late to show Lindsay having some problems and butting heads with some of her co-workers over what she believes in vs. what they believe in. I really am taking heart in what Anthony said in his interview, that they made mistakes with some past storylines, and we will see season 3 emerge as the best yet.
