How Is Lindsay Adjusting to NY?

 It's Chicago--what do you expect?

Back on topic...one thing I do kind of wonder about Lindsay is if back in Montana she had a mentor like Mac is becoming for her. She seems to really thrive under feedback and encouragement and I wonder if she had that in Montana, or if she's responding to it so well because she didn't have it there.

I've found you get more attitude going the other way around...from big city to small town. (The kinda I've grown up here all my life, and why should I change) This is a theory here so hand me a line with this...if Lindsay was accustomed to seeing newbies get treated poorly in this manner it is possible that she was expecting to be treated this way in a big city lab. I now the sterotypes I got about my province when I moved to the prairies drove me nuts, but if she had been exposed to these mythgs about the city growing up in the prairies it might get her back up all the more. I mean I was told a Christmas party in Saskatchewan that everyone in Vancouver treats people like dirt and wont even say hello to you...I've never had that experience there, but I did in the small community I was living in...I hope this is making sense...

Mentor? Hmm, I guess it depends on how sterotypical they want to make the lab in Montana. She did say they were givin breaks if they were getting overwhlemed by the work. It's be cool if she mentioned getting a call from her old supervisor. I'd like to think she did. But who knows?

I think that Lindsay has adjusted well. It seems now she has woven, like a thread in the the ny cast. I'm glad that she joined the show.

I want to point out that people weren't really mean or rude when I moved they were just....different. It's hard to describe the difference, so I'm sure I do it badly...

Honestly, it's prolly that whatever type of personality is going to be missish towards outsiders pops up everywhere and anywhere. We all just notice it more when we relocate. It also depends on how sensitive we are to such things.

i keep thinking about her adjusting in the lab. i'm sure that there are people there that don't like her, or that feel like she replaced Aiden. I could see someone telling her off, and her just taking it and not saying anything.

I moved to toronto from BC. totally diff. I notice out here that people speak their minds whenever they want. i sometimes just keep quiet and let it pass. My cousin even asked me why i say "I'm sorry" all the time. It's just natural. something polite i just say whith out even thinking. Even if it's not my fault i still do it. I just grew up not letting things get to me and not confrunting people about things. now that I live here I find myself quieter and let people walk over me. I'm working on it and getting better, but I don't want to turn into a rude cow, that cusses people out for no reason.

I kinda want to see how she would deal with that.

lol, thats funny, i moved from BC to toronto, and i found people kept being shocked by things i would say, cause i would say it like it is...i am sorta still like that, and i really don't want to be like a toronto person :p

but i love lindsy! i think she is great, and she goes well with the other characters

Adams girl and xfcanadian, mind if I ask what part of BC you were from? I've got another theory forming...

I lived in Victoria. woo the capital!

anyway back on topic....

I really want to see how she would handle someone being rude to her. i mean she is strong and capable, but I wonder how she would handle someone that would badger her and even be a bit of a bully to her. i bet she wouldn't tell anyone, she's just deal with it in her own way.

I just want to see her be a little Home sick. Someting!

xfcanadian that made me laugh. I wish I could do something like that. Yeah I'm a total push over.

Hey Adams girl, I'm from BC too! And no, I don't have any BC pot...

Well in Dancing with the Fishes she certainly proved herself - with the cop who called her Dorothy and to the widow of the tram driver.

It would be great to see her say something about missing Montana but if she mentioned it too much it would be a little tedious.

i am from Surrey BC...which could explain me being white trash

I seen all of the episodes - refresh my memory. Who faced the teapot towards Lindsay? Danny? I don't remember that particular scene. Why would he be insulting her? What would he be insulting her about?

Kelleigh

The man who pointed the tea pot at Lindsay (in "Corporate Warriors") was Paul Martin, the CEO of Pacific Worldwide--he was the guy who owned the katana sword and other weapons. Lindsay went to talk to him because it was determined that his sword was the murder weapon used to decapitate the man in the park. Right before she left, she turned the pot around and told him that she knew it was an insult. Remember now? :D

Anywho, I agree that they should've shown the differences between Montana and NYC more, but not just by having her feel like she's the little fish in the big pond. I'd love for her to come up with ideas and answers that the rest of the team don't think of because she's dealt with different cases and a different sort of environment--I want to see that yes, she can be at a disadvantage sometimes, but also that she herself is a definite advantage to the NY team. :D

I think I've always liked Lindsay's character. My only concern is that lately, it seems like they're focusing more on her "chemistry" with Danny than her forensic knowledge. Am I the only one who thinks so? Maybe I'm just tuning into the shipping comments on the message boards and it's affecting the way I watch the show... ;) :p

Have her pronounce Houston St. "HEW-ston" or something like that.

Er, how is it supposed to be pronounced?...I say "Houston" like hyoo-sten (or something like that)...would people in NY laugh and throw stones at me?

;) :p

Thanx for answering my question. :D I really don't remember that part. Next time its on  or when season 2 comes out on dvd :p I will have to pay attention.

I think that Lindsay is adjusting as well as she can. I bet eventually they will focus in on her feelings about NYC towards the end of an episode. It would be very comforting to see Danny comfort her while she was feeling homesick.

I would love to see that! An instance where Lindsay's experience in Montana is helpful to the team, and makes her stand out in a positive way. It would go a long way towards showing why Mac picked her out for the team as well. I think that would make for a great twist, and a great moment for Lindsay as a character.
