I think tptb and DC are quite possibly taking a little too much for granted, or certainly guilty of convincing themselves that the show is much better than it actually is. Or maybe their standards have just dropped and complacency has set in due to the show's success.

All of the above in my opnion!

Just a flying visit from me, but I just wanted to say that BSG, Kermit and Top Gear are all things very dear to me too.

I feel a little out of the loop today, as I've never seen any of the other shows ya'll are talking about. But. . .

They wanted to change things for H/Y, getting them together is a good way to change things.

Thanks! Our very own Pusher made it for me. This is the scene I mentioned a while ago, where the actor Eddie Olmos (Admiral Bill Adama), just decides to improvise and kisses Mary McDonnell (President Laura Roslin), completely unscripted. The producers thought it worked so well, that they left it in and the fans loved it. If only DC could show such wonderful initiative when he's around Sofia! The simplest of things can be oh so very rewarding.

So Say We All ! ahh not only Admiral Adama is wise man, but also Eddie Olmos as Lucy point out this great BSG 'spontaneous kiss scene' we really even desperately need DC to try take example from others tv-shows/actors and try to improve his ideas and acting. i`m enough disappointed and angry at Horatio character, and when i add some DC interview - i just don`t know what i`m doing in this forum. for now nothing then Yelina return in S6 can`t take me attention to Miami. even i can`t believe that i refuse offer to see NYPD Blue. just the things are not the same when it come to red hair guys. *sigh*

also if i have to be honest before BSG i never turn big attention to female characters. ok, i love Yelina Salas, but all become after this wonderful H/Y journey and great chemistry between DC and SM. with BSG all was different. from the first epi i just adore Ma'am President she is incredible character. and somehow coz of her my standard for Yelina future in CSI Miami become more high. wow hope i make sense here we just need in Miami something more strong and sensible - popular is not always equally to quality, right ?!

I've never seen BSG (no access right now), but I've always had high standards/expectations for the Y character, and that's probably why I've been disappointed so often. Realistically, I don't expect this to change.

I have to agree with you Pusher. Both H, DC and tptb have disappointed me a great deal of late. I really think that the fact that Miami was named 'the most popular show on the planet' (interestingly before Season 4 had aired in most countries) was the worst possible thing that could have happened to this show. They seem a little too pleased with themselves and have lost the edge they once had.

Makes perfect sense. BSG has really raised the bar for me too in so many ways. There is so much potential there for the Miami writers to make Yelina a really great character, but they never quite seem to know what to do with her, which baffles me. Thanks to Sofia's wonderful acting ability, she has done so well with what she has been given. Let's just hope she is given more of a chance to shine in S6, but I also fear this won't really happen.

Popularity definitely has nothing to do with quality. (Is that a reflection on the standards of most viewers?) I don't notice that CSIM has won any awards, even those like People's Choice that supposedly come from viewers. Please correct me if I'm wrong - I don't pay much attention to those things. Just haven't seen any pics of 'our gang' at those ceremonies.
