I've learned not to trust the bios anymore.

I actually thought that storyline would have been really interesting, had they not made it 'fizzle' out essentially halfway through season four. There were so many unanswered questions, and we really only got a basis of what happened and no followups. That was also around the time when Stetler seemed to disappear slowly. I wonder why that is...

I hope they at least address the storyline in season five, because that was a strong plot all in it's own, and even when Horatio was in New York, they didn't address it. (Unless they did and my memory is worse than I thought. I thought there was something about a supoena Horatio recieved...)

*sigh* Oh well, I can't be expected to remember a season I didn't like. So now it's time for Picture time!

Thanks speedcochrane for the gorgeous pic. Only thing I remember about NY was where he was supoenaed and that was all was said.

I missed the season 4 NY,Miami eppy. It would seem at this late date the only way I am going to be able to see the eppy's I missed is to buy the bloody DVD's. Oh well. I knew I was gonna buy it anyway.

Back to the confessional scene. I do not think he was confessing to killing his father. If his mother was already dead then at that point Horatio was not really helping her. I kinda question the whole Horatio killing father thing anyway. Someone on one of my many fan fic sites wrote a wonderful backstory of Horatio when he was 17 and the murder of his mother and all. It was pretty good a nice read and I believe they stuck with keeping Horatio raised up in Miami. My backstory starts when he is 24 just graduated from the police acadamy but he was raised in New York not Miami (I can't get past his heavy New York accent so he can't be from Miami orginally he is a transplant)

I have a question I need answered. In Horatio H. Caine. What does the H. stand for in his middle name? If need be I will assign him a name but would be helpful if I knew what they wanted it to be. (oh geeze...what kinds of names start with H. that go with Horatio....Yikes!)

Hmm..I don't rememeber reading anywhere that he had a middle name. I remember Raymond's middle name starts with a C though...

I think maybe that 'H' was meant to be Horatio (H) Caine, as in his nickname.

The CBS bio said that a drug dealer killed his mother, but those bios tend to be inaccurate and don't always relate to what we've been told on the show.

In Season 4, we are led to believe that during his past in NY, in an attempt to save his mother's life, H intervened in a situation where her killer ended up dead. As katpin said, we later find out that H's father killed his mother. Therefore, it would seem that H killed his father.

I kinda question the whole Horatio killing father thing anyway.

Thing is, we have to take as 'fact' what we are told on the show by the writers in terms of Horatio's backstory. After watching 'Nailed' and 'Collision', it is pretty clear that Horatio killed his father. It you've not seen these episodes, I can understand why this might be questioned.

EDIT: Re H's backstory, it is indeed horrible horatio_love, I agree. H has had a life of angst. He deserves some happiness for sure.

If I remember correctly Horatio was a NY police officer or something like that before coming to Miami. Which to me means he wasn't raised in Miami. Especially since that's where all that took place with his mother. Makes me wonder why t he writers didn't stick to the original about a druggie killing his mother?

Makes it confusing when they don't follow up on stuff. LOL.

Basically, because the writers wanted to give Horatio a darker, more angsty past to crank the drama up to another level.

We have to remember that the CBS bios have little to do with the writers and are best disregarded.

I think we've had more drama than we can chew.

Can't there just be a fluffy and airy episode where Horatio is at arms length from angst? :lol: ...Maybe in a perfect world. But the one thing I'd truly love to see, is a more 'hands-on' approach to Horatio.

I loved how he processed evidence with some much curiosity, and concentration. It was a treat to see him find a piece of evidence and at times break the case. (Quite a contrast from what he does now) I think that would be my ultimate wish for season five.

I love this episode too Stella & Horatio are reminding me of Yelina & Horatio lol :lol: same curly hair and style.. I think they are cute together and Horatio looked so good in NY oh and i missed the sunglasses because there is no SUN in NY lol :lol:

Yeah me too, though I thought at the same time it was a little sad because the little boy apologised for some reason and our H sounded a bit sad too when he called him 'buddy'. But it was nice to see he was able to ring him up and let him know he & the NY team caught his mother's killer as well as putting Darius behind bars (also loved Mac's little "rot in hell..." speech to Darius at the very end of MM).
