Have the CSI:Miami writers lost the plot? **SPOILERS**

A part of me hoped that 4x12 would be a horrible episode, so that I can quit watching now. But I liked it very much.
Now it just will hurt more if AnnD really makes this whole baby-thing happen and I have to quit watching :( :(

i haven't seen any of season 4 yet as it's not shown over here in the UK yet, but i think the storylines have gone downhill since Speed dies. In my opinion he was the glue that kept them together as a team, because how can you explain the dramatic change in the characters since then and to top it all off this "Baby" plot that is supposed to be coming up, i just feel sad that a great show like this has gone downhill so fast.

I've really enjoyed reading your opinions here. I guess as I started this thread, I had better say that I voted for the second option.

I figure that the show is very definitely going downhill currently, but I have to watch to see what happens. I can't have an opinion on it if I've not seen it! ;)

I agree that H's 'new, never mentioned before' NY past is unnecessary. I quite liked his past as it stood. There was so much there for the writers to work with already, but no, they thought they would take the easy option and 'revamp' the show. I felt things were far from resolved at the end of '10-7', but that seems to have been swept under the carpet. I'm convinced TPTB think the fans don't have memories!

IF the writers do eventually address the open ends that they've left, my faith in them will be restored to some degree, but until then, I will remain far from convinced that this is still a good show, though my loyalty commands me to watch it.

im sorry what was the 'baby-spoiler?' in UK so we dont get season 4 yet but id like to know what's to come!

I've always loved the writing and even when Speed died, I quickly began to love the new character. I wish they would go into the character's personal lives more but I still enjoy watching the show.

They let Tim die because Rory Cochrane wanted out of his contract. It was his decision to leave the show and the producers let him. The writers only made the choice of how he would exit the show.

Dutch_CSI, you say you don't like Ryan. Just out of curiosity, what is it that you don't like about him. :)

You actually think that they could get into the characters personal lives more? They can't. This show isn't a procedural drama but a soap opera.

I think that this show has lost its way, but its possible, very possible that it can restore its old glory* case in point, The Score*. The only thing that is getting in my way is that this talk of babies. Granted, these are people and their lives matter, but this show took its stance as being about Forensics( character develpment is fine, but character assination is ridculous). To really delve into their "personal lives" like that puts a spin on the whole thing. I personally will watch no matter what they do( because lets face it, Speed was my guy, and if I can watch after seeing him bite the dust, its a good chance that I can weather this). It's sadistic the amount of faith I've given this show, but its an addiction. So, that said, Miami in all its marvelous craziness, is still the show I can't wait to see on Mondays.

Sorry if none of this makes any sense, but I'm a miami fan so that should explain!

I have to say, I've been a tad put off by the newest season. It's not enough to stop me watching it, though - the characters keep me interested. I think this may just be the little rough spot and I'm hopeful that things will be on the upswing once this season is over.

Besides, what would my Mondays be without Frank and Ryan? ;)
