Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

I'm not at all looking forward to Dumbledore's bits ... I think Michael Gambon plays him terribly -- which is insane, as he's usual and amazing actor. I just don't find he brings the grace and calmness that Dumbledore should portray.

The movies have been pretty hit and miss for me, actually. I really hope they do this one right.

In regards to Dumbledore, I understand what you mean. Dumbledore's portrayal has never laid right with me in any of the films. In my opinion, the filmmakers have made mistakes with how Dumbledore is meant to be.

This might sound a little strange, but I've always imagined Dumbledore to be very similar to Gandalf in the Lord Of The Rings movies.

I felt they got him quite right in the first 3 movies but in the GoF he was completly off.
visualy he is great but I hope in this movie they bring back the calmness strenght and dignity this character exclude IMHO

I liked Dumbledore in the first movie. In the second and third movies, I don't recall noticing that much... and he was just awful in the fourth movie. The character was just completely wrong.

I thought I was the only one who feels this way about Dumbledore. I think Michael Gambon didn't play the role that well. It was so wrong. I think Dumbledore is known to be a very calm person. I don't know what happenned to him when Harry's name was picked form the Goblet in the fourth movie. Seeing him panicking like that confused me. What's up with him in the fourth movie?

I am looking forward to the escape of the Weasley Twins and Grawp. :D I love that big fellow! :)

Ooh, me too! I love Fred and George. I can't wait to see their dramatic exit from Hogwarts. Unfortunately I feel that the Weasley twins are underused in the movie, but the actors who play them are stop on! :)

Is anyone else gutted that we have no Peeves in the movies?

I love the Weasley Twins and I agree with ya Tink.. :D ;) Oh Peeves!! I wonder why they never put him in the movie. Well, that's okay with me. I do find him kind of annoying.

I really hope the movie won't leave out the good bits from the book like the fourth one. I mean, there were more scenes of Harry-Dragon chasing than the Quidditch World Cup. I also hope they won't scramble or jumble things up like in the third one where they placed the Firebolt scene in the end.

I hated the way they did that! It annoyed the hell outa me. I understand they can't fit everything in to the movie and some things will have to be moved around, but with the whole firebolt thing, I really feel they should have stuck to the book.

Order Of The Phoenix is my favourite book and it's also the longest. I just hope I'm not going to be too disappointed with the movie.

Yeah. If they are going to really follow the book, the movie might be hours long. (but no complains here.. ;) It's just that I wish they could try. The first movie was well made for me. Well, of course it was the shortest book. But if they could just put in stuff that's in the book. I wish you could understand what I mean. Here I go again, making people confuse. Just forget that I meantioned that. ;) :)

The whole romance thing in the fourth movie really pissed me off. I wish they could just focused more in the pensive scene. I really think that those who hasn't read the book disn't understand that scene.

I know this is really random, but I was thinking that Carmine Giovinazzo would play a great hogwarts teacher. Defence against the dark arts maybe, I think that would be just histerical!!!

see i dont have that problem, between the book and the movie i forget almost everything that happened  i only read books once, im not a re-reader kind of girl. so i read order of the phoenix 5 years ago, mostly on the plane coming home from france. i remember umbridge, and the fight at the end and thats about it.
im excited for this movie though, ill be sitting in line for hours to get in the first show :D

I can not wait to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix in theaters. I have been waiting since the book came out to watch it in theaters. It looks like it will be awesome in theaters, except that I do not like Cho Chang. I am jealous of her. I am determined to read it another 2 or 3 times before it comes out in theaters. Wish me luck. I am going to see it at midnight on the day it comes out because I do not have school this time. I am also going to see it a dozen times in theaters.

Good luck sidlewannabe. :) I don't really like Cho Chang that much either. But I'm not jealous of her. :) It's just that I think she has some attitude problems and when she speaks she really irritates me. Good thing she didn't speak that much in GoF. Hehe! :D

Im not really planning on rereading the book. I read it last year and I forgot some parts. I don't know.. Maybe because I just don't want to read the Sirius-is-going-to-die part. :(

I not really a fan of Cho Chang either. I didn't mind her in the Goblet of Fire, but I went right off her in the Order of the Phoenix.

I've been re-reading the books and finished the Order Of The Phoenix a few weeks back. It was pretty hard going reading the Beyond the Veil chapter again. *cries*

On a side note, I went to the Cinema on Sunday and saw the trailer for the new movie! It looked awesome!

It's a shame that they left out Quidditch in the movie. It is a little bit less significant in this book as most of the action is about Voldemort and Harry etc.

I think just before Deathly Hallows comes out, I'll read Half-Blood Prince again. The first time I read it someone told me Dumbledore would die before I got up to it.
