*walks in* Okay okay folks lets leave the ship talk 3 doors down please. Thank you. ;)

Destiny, can we talk about Nick having a girlfriend if we aren't talking about a particular "ship" - just like whether it is better to date coworkers versus non-coworkers? I don't do the ship thing, so I honestly don't know where the line is for that. Thanks.

I think we should be able to talk about Nick having a girlfriend as long as it isn't a co-worker. I was truly joking when I commented about a Nick and co-worker ship. I along with a lot of the ward girls don't ship. I'm like my Nick as is :)

myfuturecsi I would love to hear more about Nick's personal life. We got a brief mention of it in Leaving Las Vegas but alas tptb left it at that

*Walks back in* as long as its a no ship discussion is fine. If it turns into ship talk I am getting the hose and I have new recipes. :p

Destiny I think you can trust us with a no ship discussion. We've been so good lately and I hate to think of what new recipes your hose has

So apart from a Ward Girl  what type of girl do you think Nick would go for. I think he needs someone who is honest, compassionate, funny and besides being a lover is a true friend :)

Jacquie, I can't believe how accurately you described me :D Thank you.
Seriously, those traits, especially someone who is very compassionate, plus, I think maybe very passionate and I don't mean in a romantic way - I mean that there are things that she cares very, very strongly about - like people being treated fairly and things like that.

Just popping my head in to this discussion, I think I read an interview a few years ago in which George Eads talked about this specific thing. He said that Nick would not "date" a working girl again, if Nick ever did get a girlfriend that he would want her to work outside of the lab, I think an example he gave was a special education teacher, or something like that. I know in at least 2 separate occasions George Eads has said that he did not like "soap Operas" and that he was not in favor of CSI becoming one (don't I wish the writers would listen to him) and in one he went so far as to say, "if you want a soap opera, change the channel."

I know I am probably the least "shippiest" person alive, and I know I rejoiced to read George Eads comments, but if I was going to pick someone for Nick. I would like to see him with a music teacher/music therapist or a pediatric oncology nurse. Someone who really cares about other people like Nick does.
Either that or I could see Nick with a really shy woman who works at a wild life rehabilitation center. A woman who is much more comfortable working with animals than people who Nick draws out of her shell "...and they live happily ever after."... why is it the writers never ask me?

What kind of woman would you envision Nick with?

I'd like to see Nick with an average-looking girl, not some supermodel.

I could really see him with a vet, biologist or a zoologist. Definately someone who loves animals as much as Nick does.

But I'd like her to not be perfect and have some issues.

Amy i didnt even know what a shipper was til about a year ago

and you ladies seem to think im the perfect girl for nicky boy! :p wildlife rehaber: check. biology/zoology: double check. vet: working on it. :D although i dont have issues, at least i dont think i do.

so how does one get herself onto csi as the love interest of a main character... hmmm, must explore that one!

allmaple do let us know how your exploring goes :)

With the way tbtp have Nick as their whipping boy I like the idea of a music therapist. Someone that is good at helping to heal :) I also would think that Nick would do well with someone that isn't afraid to speak their mind. I don't see him as the kind of guy to go out with an air head or just a piece of fluff.

On a totally different note I hope everything is OK for GE with all the fires going on in California as well as everyone else that has been effected by them. We know GE's move once because of fires.

Dragging this up from the depths before it slides to page 2  Since we are less than a week from Hallowe'en what do you think GE might have dressed up as a kid when he went shelling out. Do you think he had a home made costume or a store bought one.

Oooh, fun topic, Jacquie!! Since GE and I are about the same age, that means that he too lived through the days of Halloween costumes that came in a box, and always had a plastic mask. I would like to think that he made his own costumes - probably of the superhero variety - Superman or Batman or Spiderman, something like that. Of course, he could have gone one year in a homemade robot costume, made out of big boxes covered with foil. Oh wait, that was me....

Being a few years older than GE we had home made costumes. I went as a clown for many years and one of my sisters was always going as a hobo. I kind of hope that GE's mom would have made the costume instead of buying it but who knows. GE and his family know :) I can picture GE as a superhero but I wonder how much influence his dad's job had on him. Maybe GE dressed up as a bad guy or even a cop to show his support. Or he could have gone as a judge :) How much of an influence did his love of acting play on him as a child. Did his love of sports have him go as a Dallas Cowboy? Come on George we need some help here

Since he had a fondness for playing dress-up I tend to think that he made up his own costumes. :) I started making up my own around third grade because I couldn't stand those boxed ones in the stores. I absolutely hated the mask and the girl ones were too girly for me and the boy ones were usually just super heroes. OnlyTruth we did that boxes and foil one with my brother once. We also tore up an old sheet and made him a mummy once.
