George Eads: 'I do not take myself so seriously'
After eleven seasons being star of CSI, George Eads says to display the success of the series and its future plans.
Is part of a disadvantage as long-lived series as CSI ?
The TV is exhausting. Take care of yourself, go to bed early, exercising ... One episode ends and you're on the first page of the next.
Eleven seasons later, are not you tired of your character?
Sometimes I get frustrated, especially when the script is cheesy.
Almost no one left of the original cast. What are your plans?
Do not know, because part of me still is committed to the series. Love your work is a luxury. So decide on the fly.
What have you learned from Laurence Fishburne ?
Not to bring work home. As I'm showering at home, obsessively repeat the dialogues. What kind of psychosis is that? He says: "That means you're worried about your job, but you have to disconnect. I, as I step into the car, I forget everything."
What is your favorite moment of all these years?
Work with Quentin Tarantino was amazing . Such directors bring out the best. I remember being invited to his house and saw
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in his projection room.
Do you feel CSI has prevented him from forging a career in film?
Is like wearing golden handcuffs. When finished, I'll have a great life and I can do what I please, as if I want to retire to a small town and train a child baseball team. But while I take a break, I love to work with the great minds of the business. When I saw The Pacific, would have given anything to be in it. If I had met Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, I would have said "I'll do what I ask." I can almost see me in uniform.
Justin Bieber makes a cameo in the first episode of the new season. Did he give you any advice?
Yes, but he asked me. I treat all the artists with respect, no matter their age. The day we shot together we were two hours late. I showed up at her trailer, and inside it were he, some friends, his mother, the computer turned on ... I said, "Dude, why do not we get all these people here and turn off the computer? We have to try." And he said: "I like your style, George." I said, "Great, but let's try" [laughs].
And what was that trial?
Before beginning I said, "My biggest fear as an artist is to look like an idiot. You do not want that, do not ?. "" I'ma perfectionist, "said I stared. "Great, me too" I replied.
He suffered a back injury in 2009. How are you?
Well, although I almost did not walk again. It's the worst thing that happened to me.
Does that change your outlook on life?
Yes, I do not take anything for granted. Now I realize the value of all because it might not have ever act again. I'm not as grumpy and I complain so much about how hard this job is. Interviews also make me nervous, fearing that I might be crucified on the Internet. Now I do not take myself so seriously.
