What was the McKeen scene?

It came right after Catherine went out of the building to go see Sam about the money.

[INT. CSI - HALLWAY -- DAY]

(Undersheriff McKeen, Conrad Ecklie's boss, is walking through the hallway

finishing up a phone conversation when Ecklie finds him.)

UNDERSHERIFF MCKEEN: (to phone) If the mayor wants a briefing, tell him I'll

give him one after the press conference so I don't have to brief him twice,
okay? Set it up.

(Undersheriff McKeen hangs up. Ecklie walks up to him.)

CONRAD ECKLIE: Sir.

UNDERSHERIFF MCKEEN: Tell me you found him so I can tell the sheriff when his

plane lands.

CONRAD ECKLIE: I wish I could. Listen, I've been looking over my budget.

There are a number of things we can do within the lab itself to raise the
ransom.

UNDERSHERIFF MCKEEN: There's no way -- not even a situation like this -- that's

going to make the sheriff cut back on services to our taxpayers.

CONRAD ECKLIE: We wouldn't have to. I'm proposing we eliminate all overtime on

lab work except for priority cases, stop hiring based on attrition, reassign
existing personnel based on peak staffing needs. Over the next fiscal year,
that should clear at least a million.

UNDERSHERIFF MCKEEN: Assuming any of those measures actually saves money, which

isn't really the issue here, is it?

CONRAD ECKLIE: I'll take the heat.

UNDERSHERIFF MCKEEN: (nods) You want to do something for your people? Get 'em

ready for a funeral.

(Undersheriff McKeen leaves. Camera holds on Ecklie.)

It's kind of funny that you all haven't seen it while it I watched it here in German in full length when they showed it first :)

I really like Ecklie in this scene though and started disliking McKeen... but then it was my first CSI episode I ever watched and I immediatly fell in love with Nick :adore:

NickyFan, in North America we saw the 'missing scene' when the show first air in 2005. The scene only disappeared in reruns and on the DVD.

Ah, didn't know that, sorry :)

I like this scene and I'm glad that I got to see it. In my opinion it shows very good what McKeen and Ecklie really are like.

I was never sure myself, but I suspected as much. The first episode I ever watched was "Weeping Willows" that season. All of the hype about this one intrigued me tho, and I remember watching the end of part two, but I still wasn't sold on the show...or even Nick. ;) It took a Spike marathon a couple of years later to hook me. :)

Yeah, I think it's utterly ridiculous that they cut that scene out from the DVD. There was no reason for it.

I mean on the DVD they could have left the episodes together, they didn't have to split it up. Maybe if they ever put that episode or season on Blu-ray it'll magically reappear.

Just read
the Nick spoiler in the spoiler thread. I wonder if we will get to see the inside of his house again.

And, is this the Justin episode?

Well, I'm thinking that this will be a new house for him. I'm sure he moved after 'Stalker' and when he said he owed about $300K for his house, I don't think he'd still be in the same one.

This will be interesting and guessing this is payback for killing Jason's brother.

Either way, I doubt if they would recreate the same set from the Stalker episode just so Nick fans don't point out the different house. ;)

And why aren't we discussing this in the spoiler thread instead of here and hiding it with tags?

Sorry about that. I thought since it was Nick related we could discuss it here.

Oh you can...that's fine. Just use spoiler tags. :)

But we can discuss freely in the spoiler thread. :D

but here I'm likely to read the spoilers where I don't go into the spoiler thread :)

Knock yourself out! Although they didn't really post the main part of it. But here you go.
A new (guy) bomb tech has to take a bomb off of Nick's house and then help Nick, Cath, and Vartann get out of a booby trapped warehouse.

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but here ya go. Over Xmas I watched the season opener again, and noticed Nick's character seemed to be wearing a different ring...interesting, but never got a clear look at it again. In tonight's episode it was definitely a different ring, and hopefully someone captured a candid shot. I'd be interested in seeing what this one is like. Let me know what the rest of you curious minds think.

Take Care. :)
