Now for the question:

How long does it take of DNA to be analysed in a lab? (minimum time - maximunm time)
 
It is different for each lab. For instance, if the case is a bigger one, then the crime lab here can have DNA analyzed in about three to six weeks. (usually longer) However, for the state crime lab here, they are at about six months turnaround time. It used to be one year.
 
WOW I had no idea it was THAT long, I thought it was just a matter of a few weeks, to a few months, I had no idea it could take a half a year. Good question
 
The last two are Wheel or Ray method (small, circular crime scenes) and the most common, the Link method. (THis one is when one type of evidence leads to another)

Hmmm...ok - what is the only insect to visit a corpse with the enzymes required to break down keratin, a protein component of hair?
 
'fraid not - anyone else? I'll give it another day to see if anyone can answer it. There's got to be an entomology geek on a CSI site.... ;)
