I know a lot of people thought the banter in "Sleight Out of Hand" was less-than-respectful on Hawkes' part, but I didn't get that feeling from it. I liked that scene.
I'm with you. I thought it was cute. If Flack thought Hawkes was disrespectful to him, he would have put Hawkes in his place. I think Flack was having fun with that. He seemed rather amused to me.

The feeling I get when Don & Lindsay share a scene is that she is annoying / boring him to death.
I agree. He only puts up with her when he absolutely has to and he talks to her a little as he must. In CoTP, he got annoyed when she didn't know what block parties were yet she smarted him off with: Wyoming when he asked where they had block parties in Montana.

I loved the live chat with Eddie when somebody asked what he thought about DL. I loved that he said he wouldn't be that patient. Give the man credit, he's not stupid enough to ever go out with her to begin with. Flack wouldn't take that crap from anybody...except Danny. :p

^Yeah, I've picked up on the waves of irritation from him, too. I remember in "Cool Hunter" he up and walked out of an interrogation room, leaving her behind!

Eddie's answer about DL was priceless. No thanks, no way, not for Flack. That gives me hope for...

Devon, his girlfriend in ep 3. I know a lot of people have been turned off by the fact that she's rich, but I think Flack's got discerning taste and I don't see him going out with a total moron or someone completely vapid.

LOL on the cats thing! Ooops.

We do need to know more about Flack.

We know he's good friends with Danny and Stella, but doesn't seem especially close to anyone else on the team. He and Mac have clashed, but seem to have a deep respect for each other. He seemed close to Aiden as well.

Honestly, I'm glad he's not allergic to cats anymore. :p

Remember "All Access" ? When Don & Mac get in Stella apartment and Mac goes to Stella & Don says: This is Frankie. Stella's boyfriend. That caught my attention. I mean, knowing that kinda suggest some deeper friendship than just working together. Right? So, definitely close to Danny & Stella. And I think he's pretty close to Mac. Maybe not hanging out, but lots of love & respect. It's Hawkes I don' t feel Don being so close to.... ohh, & Lindsay, but she doesn't count.:p But then poor Hawkes is even more underused that Flack .

And we sooooo need to know more about Flack. :D

That scene in "All Access" got my attention too. It definitely gave me the feeling that Flack and Stella are really good friends, enough for him to know that the one who got killed was Stella's boyfriend.

I like how Flack and Danny mesh well together. It seems to me that both have a genuine concern for the other, a sort of brothers-in-arms kind of thing.

As for Mac, I think Flack has nothing but respect for the man but I love how the whole Truby issue brought out the tension in their relationship. I could literally see fireworks!

As for Lindsay, I think Flack finds her exasperating.

Here, here! We definitely need to know more about Flack and whatever back story he has! :D :D

I like seeing Flack and Hawkes in the same scenes--you get the feeling they're just co-workers who get along on the job, but there's the potential for more. I'd love to see them develop that. I liked the way they clashed a bit in "Corporate Warriors" in season 2 when Hawkes gave his number to the kid's mother. I also liked their little moment in "Snow Day" after Flack shot the guy.

I know a lot of people thought the banter in "Sleight Out of Hand" was less-than-respectful on Hawkes' part, but I didn't get that feeling from it. I liked that scene. ;)

That crapsicle remark was really priceless. Loved the banter between Flack and Aiden in that episode. :D

I loved how Flack looked out for Hawkes (being a newbie in the field) as regards the giving out the calling card to the bereaved mother in "Corporate Warriors". In "Sleight Out of Hand", the entire 'doing a Houdini' conversation with Hawkes was really hilarious (I didn't get the feeling that there was any disrepect on the part of Hawkes)   That was one of my favorite Flack/Hawkes moments. :D

Oh yeah, Flack trying to explain it to Hawkes and Hawkes getting all defensive until he realized that Flack was right.

At least Flack had the grace not to say 'I told you so' when Hawkes figured it out.

Ah, Flack! Ever so gracious! But still, you've got to love the balance between the graciousness and the sarcastic and witty remarks that Flack embodies. :D

Of course! He's got that snark, but he knows when it's appropriate and when it's better to hold off. :p He also knows how to get away with a bit of snark even when he's being professional. :p

I have to agree.

I agree. He's not gonna go out with somebody like that. I have a feeling she's a really nice girl. He wouldn't date a rich, snotty bitch, a total moron, somebody mean or nasty, or a lawbreaker. I still think she approached him or made sure he knew she was interested. Maybe she's a little tired of her rich-bitch life and wants to be a little more normal. A tall, dark, and handsome homicide detective would sure be a right step in that direction. In my spoiler sources, he picks her up in a tux and a very expensive car and take her to a pizza place. She can't be too much of a spoiled brat or she wouldn't be so excited to go.

He definitely knows when not to cross the line and when to use some snarky comments to ease the tension the situation calls for.

I hope you guys hit the bull's eye with this one. Flack may be level-headed and down-to-earth...but there are some people who when it comes to love, all bets are off...or everything flies out the window...maybe, what you would call a fool for love...I hope Flack doesn't fall into the latter category...Hope he chooses to go out with someone who isn't shallow and one who has a good head on her shoulders.

Yeah, the scene worked for me. I don't think Flack and Hawkes will ever be as close to each other as they both are with many of the rest of the team. I can't see them socialising or any of that, but I can totally see them respecting the other and knowing that they are both great at their jobs. They are an interesting pair because they really are two totally different characters with little in common, apart from the desire to see justice done.

I get the feeling that some of the animosity towards Devon is actually more to do with the fact the Flack has a girlfriend, and not necessarily because she appears to be a stereotypical rich girl. Rather I think many of us would have preferred his character development to have been his background, family etc, the things we've been wanting for the last three years! Anyway, as long as we've been given the girlfriend I do hope that she is a nice girl and Flack isn't made to look foolish. And after three seasons I guess he deserves some action!

Aiden... :( God how I miss her! She was perfect : beauty, brains, spirit! And great chemistry with everyone. The dynamic she had with the kinkapodles was magic!

I love that scene!! One of the best! Classic! I don't think Hawkes wanted to offend or disrespect Don. They were playing. And Don definitely didn't get mad at Sheldon. The face Don made was cute & playful, not annoyed. He did'n put on a polite smile. He was too close to start a happy dance around Hawkes! And most of all, before leaving, he touched Hawkes, he didn't just put his hands in his pockets and left. He made contact with Hawkes and looked at his face. Don obviously enjoyed that little moment. :p Besides, he won!

Another great moment! Hawkes was just trying to hard, Don saw that & that's why he didn't attacked Hawkes. ;) First , he didn't preached him until they were alone. That was sweet, he would never humiliate a friend by teaching him a lesson in front of all those cops. He waited till they were alone. Don had the grace to realize it was a one on one moment. ;) And when Hawkes got all defensive, he didn't snap at him. He explain his reason, so that Hawkes could understand on his own that it was not a "turf thing" at all, & that Don was just looking out for the rookie. And it was cute the way Hawkes just nodded and kinda smiled "oops. got it!" instead of acting offended. And the best, they both let it die right there and then. Again, that was so gracious of both of them, especially Don, for not rubbing Hawkes nose in it.

What I like so much about Flack and Hawkes is that they clearly come from such different backgrounds and have vastly different interests. Flack leaves the science to the CSIs, and Hawkes is all about the science--he's so well educated. I like seeing their different approaches in action when they work together. And I thought it was cool that Flack felt like he could confide in Hawkes in "Snow Day."

^^ I really loved that secuence in Snow Day, and I think that wet that way because Flack was acting more serious than usual, and Hawkes is more serious when he's in a case. That's why I really loved the secuence in Sleight out of hand, Flack was being Flack and Hawkes was being Hawkes, centering in their objetive instead of cracking jokes.

They are pretty different! :p But, that morning, Flack a lot more serious that usually. pulling that trigger was the right thing to do, but still it got to him, a little. And hey, even Super Flack needs a little encouraging every now & then! Maybe he choose Hawkes for that little confession not just because he was there, but because Hawkes never leaned on him, ( Mac expect him to be strong, Stella leaned on him too, & Danny lives every day of his life leaning on Don :p ) so he wasn't showing a weak spot to someone who needs to see him strong . Making any sense? He seemed to have put it behind him by the time Mac got there.

PS. No matter how different they might be, they have one huge thing in common. The badge! They are both cops! And I think any man or woman can relate to what Don felt that morning. The wish he didn't have to kill a man in order to protect & serve. I liked that shooting that dealer made a little number on Don. He's a "copper" , but he's human, not a "catch the bad guy" machine. Loved seeing that.

^ It's double posting still bad if it's after 24 h?

Question : Where did Don's gloves go??? Remember how in season 1 Flack used to wear gloves when at the crime scenes? Fast forward to S 2 and the gloves are gone... Were the gloves attached to the leather jacket? Since their both missing now... Donnie?

I didn’t even notice that he wore gloves in the first place. I probably wasn’t focused on his hands that much.

But you are right; the gloves disappeared with the leather jacket and were replaced by various fugly shirt/tie-combinations and a better hair cut. :D
