Here's an old poem I wrote like seven years ago...originally it was a female POV but I made it male for Mac. I used to post my poems at
http://www.thestarlitecafe.com but I haven't been there in like years now. I should post some of my CSI poems there but I need to have them give me a new password first I forgot it lol It's probably a little sappy but I thought of it tonight and thought it worked for him once the changes were made.
Empty Bed
He wakes, still halfway dreaming and tries to snuggle close to his wife’s side
But Hhe finds nothing there and once more the painful reality sets in, She’s really died
He turns toward the nightstand and gazes at the picture sitting there
Remembering the times she and he were able to share
He still feels the pangs of loneliness, though they're beginning to fade away
For He knows she's in his heart and there she'll stay
He knows she's always there, watching over him from up above
And He knows that he'll never forget their special kind of love
He sighs, and still looking longingly at the picture on the nightstand, he lays down his head
He's beginning to move on now, but it still aches his heart to wake in the night and find only an empty bed.
