Eva/Natalia #2: History Aside, She's Making a Good One!

What's this about Natalia and Speedle? Where are you people getting this information????????? My head is, like, exploding.

 

Ok we've read some "scripts" from this episode

It looks like that Natalia already worked for the FBI in 1997. When Horatio's team need a new texhnique for an evidence (only FBI owns it), Speed tells Horatio he knows a girl from FBI and, later, this girl turns out to be Natalia

There's no way around it if they go this route with H already meeting her 12 years ago. I don't see him forgetting a face or name even if it is a brief meeting. So, here he meets Ms. Boa Vista, DNA specialist for the FBI, & then later she shows up at the crime lab as a DNA specialist/cold case solver/grant writer -- there's no way he wouldn't have put it together that she was a mole, & now I'm almost convinced that he brought her in there himself. The curiousity of how & why she came there as the mole has ALWAYS gotten the best of me, so I truly hope tptb are going somewhere with this.

Maybe it's to clear things up! That would be nice. I def think Horatio knew about her though after reading this! It just fits that 1 piece of puzzle thats been missing. He never seemed mad at her for what she did. I just don't get why they're just now telling us about this! TPTB better have a good explanation for this one. :shifty: I just can't wait to see Natalia 12 years ago! That's gonna be the interesting part! Now I have something to look forward too!!!! Yayyyyy!

 

Greetings good people! It has been some time since I have made a post on this thread, but in reading about these 'spoilers' for season 8, I just can't resist.

First-I tend to doubt that Speedle had something for Natalia. When Speedle was alive the writers never really did a single thing on his personal life. Speedle was kind of a mystery when it came to his relationships with the opposite sex, as opposed to Delko, it was clearly understood from the get-go
that he was a 'player' and chased many a female. IMHO, I think Speedle was 'the networker' or at the very least connected , he knew people here, there and everywhere and used those connections when circumstances required.
Perhaps Speedle could sense that Natalia was in a bad situation with her then-husband. It wouldn't surprise me if Speedle thought "Darn, I know a guy who would be perfect this woman!"

I agree with many of you in that I definitely do hope that this will open some doors and we'll see Natalia's profile raised up.

I would even like to see Eric ask Nat as to how she knew Speedle. I think that would be a wonderful thing to seeing a restirring of interest between the two again.

I totally agree. I didn't get the impression (from what I read in the spoilers) that Speed had any interest in Nat, at least not to the point where he was trying to pursue her or anything. I'm curious to know what he did for her that made her return the favor though.

Maybe before Natalia started workin there at the lab, he always talked about Eric and that's why she went to him instead of Ryan. This shall be interesting to see how it all plays out! I can't wait to see the facial reactions when everyone finds out. I think Eric will be totally surprised! I'm totally surprised that she even knew Speed! But that's cool!!! =D Just adds more to the mystery of this show!!!

I really hope that tptb don't pull some crap where Horatio is just convienantly out in the hall when she gives Speedle the results! :scream: The thought just crossed my mind that that might be what happens, & while she'd still have known Speed, she may not have ever seen or met H, which wouldn't tie into our theory that he brought her in as the mole, or that it could roll into a storyline for the new season. DAMN! It better not be that way cause I don't think I'd buy it. I see Horatio as more of the type who'd want to be completely in the loop, & be there when it was processed. Man, I hope they don't screw all this up.

That's what I worry about with tptb though -- I'm not so sure it will actually come out that she knew Speedle. We don't even know if these flashbacks are from a person's point of view, or just a flashback in general, or if it's all a bunch of crazy confusion in Eric's mind.

Maybe the flashbacks are coming from Horatio, & he's telling Eric (while he's in the coma) a story of how the team came together. Maybe we don't really see H telling him these things, but then at the end they show him at Eric's bedside finishing up the story?
It reminds me of a parent telling their little kid a bedtime story so thier nightmare goes away, but hey, it could happen :lol:

Wow that made my dayyyy!!!! She bowls like meeee! And that shirt she's wearin looks like one from and episode! lol I don't remember what its called though!!!! Its so cute cause her and her sister match!!!! Just like me and my sisterrr!!!!! I would love to be in that bowling alleyyy!!!! Wow! Love herrrr!

 

Eva actually bowl better than I do! She and her sister are cute together and they did look like they were matching which was even cuter.

 

Yes, Eva stole Natalia's shirt :lol: She wore it in 'Guerillas in the Mist' only it was buttoned to the top.

I haven't bowled in so long, I'm sure I'd have thrown the ball backwards just like Eva did. :lol:

 

Greetings again! I would like to put forward something about Natalia and Speedle.

Spoiler: How Speed knew Natalia-Epi 8.01

Some seem to agree with me that Speedle's relationship with Natalia was not of a romantic/intimate type. For all intensive purposes it seems to be that Nat was one Speed's connections.
How did they meet? This is where the imagination can really run wild.
My 2 cents?
I'll put it this way. As far as we know Speedle knew Natalia before he knew Eric. We're not sure exactly when but I would venture a guess that Speedle met Natalia before or very near the time he became a CSI, perhaps when he was still a street/patrol cop. Eric and Horation may not have been in the picture yet. So, the question I would ask is the following: Could have Speedle met Natalia when Nick Townsend (a.k.a. Natalia'a now-dead ex-husband) was at the height of his abusing Nat?

This to me seems kind of logical. Could it be he was the officer who arrested Nick for when he broke her arm, or the investigator who was involved in the case that put Nick behind bars. Perhaps Speedle convinced Natalia to testify and get he help she needed to leave Nick. Thus, in apprectiation of Speed's help, Nat tells him what she does for a living. Voila!! Speed's connection with a DNA specialist from the FBI is then born!

Not only that but if Eric was to realize that Nat knew Speed, they would have something that Eva said was missing from the relationship. I'll put my thoughts about this on the EDEN thread.

I wish I had more info on timelines just to see if periods of time matched up.
There's a great deal of vagueness around when Nat left Nick, when Speed started with CSI, etc.....

I don't have a single lick of envidence about this! It's pure, unadulterated speculation on my part!! It's fun anyway though!

There's a big 'IF' that goes along with all this, & it has something to do with Rory. More in the spoiler reply.

ok, first off, there may be a chance that Rory Cochrane turned this down. The updated spoilers do not mention Speedle. There is also the chance that Natalia may not be in the flashbacks at all now either. Apparently there is a casting call for a female FBI/DNA expert who Horatio will have connections with who helps him with the '97 case. NOW, we never know, there's still a chance that Horatio meets Natalia in the past through this other woman, but as of right now that's uncertain.

IF this 'Speedle' thing goes through, then I honestly don't have a clue as to how/why they met. Nick would seem like a logical reason, but I always had the impression that her abuse started later in the marriage & that he went to jail (& the divorce) just a short time before Natalia arrived in S4 (she told Eric she hadn't been with anyone else since her divorce, so Im putting together that it hadn't been a huge amount of time since her divorce was final). Anything is possible though - tptb sure do like to rearrange timelines :shifty:

I suppose it's always possible that Nick hadn't become too terribly violent at the time she supposedly met Speed (IF Speed even shows in this epi), maybe it was just an arguement that lead to him getting more physical & she called the cops on him. Considering we don't know a whole lot about Nick & Natalia's marriage, when they got married, when they divorced, when & how long the abuse lasted - anything is possible. Though I will say that it all could just be our imaginations running wild, cause the previous spoilers sounded as if they just met through some work thing, but ...we never know. It'd be nice for them to take it into a new direction, but probably incredibly hard to do considering this man is no longer alive. I guess we'll just have to see if this Speedle thing pans out.
