Eric/Ryan Slash--Unresolved Tension

Ah yes, I remember that now

yeah, you're right, Eric was down right mean and when Ryan said: I don't want to compete with a dead guy, Eric really deserved that

In the Nailed scene, it was just boiling with sexual tension, and yeah, in Whacked there was only plain meanness....

I thought it was really rude, I mean, yeah they've never been best friends or anything but you just don't leave your collagues out of the loop like that

It was like he was tryint to alienate Ryan out of the team

and of course that was because he wanted Ryan so badly and he thought that Ryan was straight and stuff like that, so he was just directing his frustration towards Ryan, instead of talking it out like responsible adults

and after the talking a steamy sex scene of course :D

this thread needs some love.
My discussion topic. good and bad eric/ryan episodes:

bad episodes are:
whacked
10-7 ( :()
dead air (bad natalia.)

good episodes:
sex and taxes
nailed (finally some friendship scenes)
silencer (the episode with the blog. so funny)

anyone agree/disagree?

For the good and bad episodes, inge, why don't you talk about your reasons for liking/not liking them? That might get other people to discuss them (if they know your reasons).

I loved 'Nailed' and 'Silencer', they're just so totally into each other. I also liked the scene in 'Deviant' where they ask each other about their love lives, and if they're seeing anybody. ;) 'After the Fall' was a good one too. :D (hehe, I know I've said it before, but I still love that scene where they're both walking towards the camera, and they're perfectly synchronized ;) )

I try:
'whacked': I wrote this before, there was just plain meannes from eric's side. He was unhappy with the whole situation that they were analyzing speed's case. I like the scene where Calleigh told him to be more friendly to Ryan.

10-7. ARG! it was not only a bad eric/ryan episode, the whole team was breaking apart. The part where eric went before he saw what Ryan said was significant. There are a lot of misunderstandings between them.

dead air. stupid natalia. She played with both boys and Eric was so jealous that ryan went out with her.
WAIT. maybe this is a good episode. Eric was jealous because Ryan didn't went out with him. I changed my opinion. :p

sex and taxes: pure tension. I like the scene in the layout room where eric told ryan about car tyres. you can see that they can't overcome their pride and admit their mistakes.

nailed: awww! the fight in the hallway was hot. after the accident eric was soo concerned and the last scene was so cute.

silencer: ryan looked so dissapointed after he learned that eric and natalia are a couple. poor boy.

quickbeam, you're right, 'after the fall' was also a great episode. Eric teased him because of his OCD and the sync. walk.

can you remeber some quotes from 'deviant'? haven't seen the episode yet... :(

I haven't seen Deviant either, but I definitely agree with the other episodes listed :D

The reason I like Silencer so much is because of the scene in the Evidence Locker, where Eric and Natalia are standing so close they're practically humping each other and then Ryan walks in

There is this shared look between Eric and Ryan and Ryan is completely ignoring Natalia, his eyes are so focused on Eric, it's really like there is something going on there

Also, Eric is looking at Ryan with this looks like in his eyes, it's a cross between worried and challenging, but at the same time he's so keen on Ryan's reaction that it's like he only did that because he wants to draw a reaction out of Ryan

Nailed is obvious, Eric is really worried about what happened to Ryan, there is just so much concern and I loved the scene at the end, it totally showed us that there is more between these two then just anger

I also like Urban Hellraisers, at the beginning when they're in the AV room checking that camera and they see Eric checking out that girl, Ryan said: looks like your day started off well or something like that and I totally thought that I heard a jealous note in his voice

Sex and Taxes is an episode that I always thought was pretty bad actually, I mean isn't that the episode where Ryan steals Eric's evidence?

yes, 'sex and taxes' is the episode where ryan 'stole' eric's evidence.
but this episode is the beginning of the tension between them. Before 'sex and taxes' I thought that they were going to be friends.

What about 'three way'? I haven't seen season 4 yet so it's a little hard to discuss them, I know them only from recaps, but I think that in 'three way' were also some eric/ryan moments.

I think Three Way was more of a bad episode, because you have Ryan commenting on the rollers and pot smoking kit thieves, to which Eric reacts with anger and then Ryan says: Relax Delko, I believe you. I hate it when people jump to conclusions, don't you?

that comment was a bullseye

I feel that there is a lot of tension between the two of them in that episode, especially because all three of them are kinda taking their seperate paths and not really paying attention to the other

which puts even more presure on the already straining relationship between Eric and Ryan in that point of time

lol :D

I guess that's true ^^

But I like the tension, I mean it's all sexual, I know it is :D
I just hope we can have a few more moments between them in Season 5
and can anyone tell me about what happen in Deviant between Ryan and Eric?

I sure can. :D In fact, I'll type up pretty much the whole scene. :D

Ok, so the episode is about a sex offender who gets murdered, and Eric and Ryan are walking down a street in the neighbourhood looking for clues...

Eric: Hey, check this out. There were posters here, and now they're just staples in corners.
Ryan: Somebody took them all down.
Eric: Yeah, guilty conscience.
Ryan: Or it's a consciousness of guilt. Do you keep your kids on a short leash?
Eric: I don't have kids.
Ryan: (raises eyebrow) Oh, I just figured with all the dating you do...
Eric: Yeah, well I'm very careful.
Ryan: Well, better safe than sorry (glances briefly at Eric then begins to walk away).
Eric: (walks along with Ryan) What about you, you been *slight pause* dating?
Ryan: (looks at Eric, then away) I'm taking a little bit of a break right now.
Eric: (laughs) Hehe, a break, that's what they call it? Look, why don't you go to that side of the street, take a look, and I'll stay on this side of the street.

Now, my interpretation:

First, it starts off that they're practically finishing each other's sentences. Then, Ryan fishes around to somehow bring up the subject of Eric's love/personal life. Then, when Eric says that he's 'very careful', what he really means is that despite his reputation, he isn't sleeping with hudreds of women because he only has eyes for Ryan. Then Ryan makes his little 'read between the lines' comment with the "better safe than sorry" comment. Then Eric also wants to know if Ryan's available, and Ryan of course is COMPLETELY available, at least when it comes to Eric anyway. 'Taking a break' also means 'I only have eyes for you.' Then the only reason Eric suggests that they go to opposite sides of the street is because he needs to do something to prevent himself from giving into the urge to push Ryan up against a tree and having his way with him.

ETA: Hmm, remember a while back when I mentioned trying to think of a quote, but couldn't for the life of me think of what it was, but I knew it was extremely important evidence that Hardy Boys existed? Well, I think this might have been it. :D

wow! that's a great Hardy Boys scene I can completely see it that way

I'm taking a little bit of a break right now translates into I'm waiting until you push me against a tree and have your wicked way with me :D

they are so into each other :D

I've never actually really considered Eric/Ryan as a couple (mostly because I don't watch CSI:Miami that often anymore, and because I ship Ryan/Calleigh when I do ship anyone) but after perusing this thread, it doesn't seem to be that bad of a ship.

The two have better chemistry with each other than they both have with Natalia, which is a definite good thing.

^^ I agree with you screamingpoet.
They have a lot of chemistry.
They should forget natalia and should concentrate on each other. :p

Thank you for the quote quickbeam! :D
your interpretation sounds plausible (and funny).
I want to know why he takes a break from dating. because of bad experiences with erica and natalia?
come on eric, comfort him.

Well from what we've seen Ryan isn't very succesful in the ladies departement, all the better reason for him to go after Eric :D

But yeah, I guess it's because of Erica and Natalia

I mean, Erica used him to get good stories and almost completely destroyed his reputation within the police department

Natalia used him to make Eric jealous and to get more information about the lab and about cases, because the bitch is the mole

So after all that heartache he takes a break because he can't set himself up for a broken heart anymore... but then there is Eric and he sweeps Ryan of his feet :D
