Eric/Greg: Leggo Our Greggo thread #15

Watched all three eps (Table Stakes, Cats, & Buss) and every single Greg moment in there was priceless. I think just about everyone else before me has covered all that I wanted to say.

Oh, I love the shirts that Greg sports and his cockiness as well when he was in the lab. Back when he was "king of his domain" so to speak, he had a slight air of cockiness to him, didn't he? But not the obnoxious kind like Hodges but it turned into an endearing kind. After all that and watching 'Chasing the Bus', the lack of confidence that he portrayed later on was really good and you could definitely see it affected him greatly through the rest of the ep. Even the more softer scene with Grissom was played with great subtlety that was turned into a powerful few seconds.

I bet everyone had smiles on their faces during 'Chasing the Bus' especially since Greg went from 'freezing up on the field' to Level 3 CSI and making a life-and-death decision in 'Fannysmackin''

And on a none Greg note, it was also definitely fun to sport guest actors whom I recognise from a lot of newer shows. I.e. Diane Farr from Numb3rs in 'Cats in the Cradle' and Elizabeth Lackey from Heroes in 'Table Stakes'.

I don't have much time this week, so I just watched all the Greg clips from season 1.
What struck me the most is how he changed in season 1. He began kind of unsure of himself, but very curious. As the season progresses he becomes more and more respectful of Grissom and so interested to know why he does what he does. You can tell he's curious about CSI work from the get-go. He asks many more questions than the other lab techs.

And I do remember seeing an outtake from that scene where when Eric was trying to take off the glove from his head it did not come off right and Billy did start cracking up. I bet they had to do a few retakes on that scene.

!

You mean this ? :guffaw:It is at 1.50.
Now i feel older, they look so young.Baaah nevermind...

And egeria i should say that i loved the banner. The look fits the concept perfectly

Yeah, I know what you mean. But rightly so too! He really was great in the lab, he was quick, helpful and funny. He added that lighter touch to a grisly occupation. He's a brilliant CSI too though!

Yeah, I'm 'star-spotting' as well now  We should have a bingo card :guffaw:

He was, wasn't he? Always asking questions and wanting to know why. That's how Cath got into the job too. Innate curiosity seems to be a pre-requisite for the job!

:guffaw: That was freakin' hilarious!! OMG! The whole place was laughing  Thank you for sharing!

And thank you for your comment on the banner! When I was looking for a good cap to use, that one just jumped out and said 'pick me'.

Going to watch Table Stakes today after I get my housework done. Can't wait so will be cleaning quickly! :D

Ahh yes, that is the blooper scene I was talking about. I really hope they do bloopers again someday on a DVD. I mean the only bloopers I have really seen are those from the first two seasons. I want to see some more Eric bloopers. That was the only one he was in out of the ones they had from back then. But that was a classic one. Oh of course there is that dancing scene during Grave Danger of the whole gang (minus Nick) around the cassette player when they start dancing. That was funny too.

I can make your wildest dreams come true!

Ever since I saw Greg in Season 1, I try not to miss an episode where he "steals a scene" usually from Grissom...:p it is always so amazing listening to him with all these stuff. and If this is for real, man! he's a genius.

^ Thank you Smokey :D

That Grave Danger outtake was hilarious! Someone used that to make a CSI The Sitcom trailer which was really very well done!

I haven't watched Table Stakes yet, but I'm putting it in now  as my housework is pretty much all done. Film 'crew' will be here this afternoon to film my cat. Ok, when I say 'crew' its just two people . But still, kinda exciting!

Actually CBS used that Grave Danger outtake as a real commercial for a brief period of time too. I just liked watching Eric boogie down in that clip. :D

I have to say I am curious as to why they are filming your cat?

Yeah, it was a fun clip! I like Eric boogie-ing in True Vinyl too, it was cute!

I watched Table Stakes this morning and I have to say I love Greg's enthusiasm and attitude and confidence. And is it just me or is Grissom a lot more tolerant of Greg than of others? I mean, he yelled at Nick just for disturbing him, but when Greg was dancing around with the headdress he said nothing. I'm trying to recall, but has there ever been a scene where Grissom has a go at Greg?

Anyway, watching early Greg is quite refreshing, his antics never fail to make me laugh!

As for my cat, my friend owns a cat sitting business and she's doing some marketing material on what her service entails. She is using my house and cat for it :D Nothing major but still really fun. Who knows, maybe my cat will go Holywood

There are a few instances of Grissom telling him to tone down the music - at least once where he blamed it on Greg but it was actually Sara. And in another episode, possibly "Gentle, Gentle" but I can't remember exactly, where he takes all of Greg's evidence pile and shoves it out of his lab so that Greg will process the evidence for Grissom's case. Athough, in that instance it wasn't Greg that Grissom was frustrated with. He just happened to be the victim of said frustration.

I actually found that scene so cute, not angry. Greg's look is adorable when Grissom's telling him that his stuff is priority. It's like, "Ohhh kay Grissom's angry..this is kind of cool, I better do his stuff."

Also there's one of my favourite scenes ever when Grissom snaps at Greg because he's rambling, and then Greg says "Because you make me nervous." It's such a character driven scene....and Grissom doesn't make a retort because it kind of makes him think. It's probably the only time someone's been honest with him as to why they all act differently around him.

I've always thought that Grissom found Greg interesting and that is why he often did not say stuff to him. I think he found him to be an interesting study. I always think of the episode "Harvest" when Greg stood up to Grissom and defended Mia on her DNA processing. I think in that episode Grissom really realized that Greg could stand on his own and I felt in that scene he would make a good supervisor, since he was able to stand up for her like that. I think Grissom saw how much he had matured.

I have to say it was a very good idea to make that scheduled list of gregisodes to watch! :D (Thanks egeria!) ... I'm gonna do it... and leave some comments later

Is it just me or has Nick and Greg's relationship cooled over the years? In Table Stakes they do the whole fist bump 'what up dude' thing, and they seem much more friendly. Lately it seems like they barely say hi to each other warmly. Maybe Greg is still PO'd about the way Nick was an asshole to him at the beginning of the season. Although, I've found that to be the case since Season 7ish. Maybe Warrick's death has made Nick more aloof from his colleagues? Anyways, it just seemed to me like they were better friends in season 1&2.

P.S. I hate when they used to call them criminalists...what a dumb name :p It sounds like clowns

I wouldn't say they've cooled, nor has Greg exhibited any PO'd-ness toward Nick following the heated exchange in "Family Affair". In comparison to the first couple seasons, yeah their relationship has changed. But I think it has more to do with both men maturing. Apart from the one instance in "Family Affair", both have been very friendly and cordial. They do a fist bump in "Lover's Lanes" (and work together remarkably well on the case), they happily joke with each other in "Appendicitement" and "Take My Life, Please", they work a case together without incident in "Field Mice", and Greg shares some family anecdotes with Nick in "Internal Combustion". And even in "Family Affair", by the end both appear to have forgiven each other as they bond over the spider. Cooling... no. Maturing, yes.
