ok so I've been overanalyzing THE scene for awhile and I wonder if it was because Eric admitted that he wasn't ok that made Cal loosen up. Because Eric never admits his vulnerability. She's been trying to get him to open up to her about his memory lapses and what's going on with him, but he keeps saying he's fine. I wonder if those words plus her finding that piece of paper might finally be what breaks the ice between the two and opens some real dialogue.
Or maybe someone can write a fic about that...
Also, I know for a split second Cal had to be thinking about how she felt when Eric almost died. I think she knew what he meant by "I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to you."
