Eric & Calleigh #19 - Spontaneous Nudity Bound To Occur

Ah well, better Peter than Hagen. (Sure, Hagen's dead, but still.)

I fear everyone will be trying to get Calleigh's attention, though, and Eric will be forced to the background.

Well, that could work to our advantage too. ;) Calleigh's not gonna like everybody fussing over her, and to get away from it, maybe she'll try to hide by trying to disappear into the background. Where she finds Eric, who's upset about not being able to get anywhere near Calleigh. And they talk and have one of their little moments; Eric confesses that she scared him, she quietly admits that it scared her too, he sorta touches her hand and she looks at him. There's some silence, neither of them knowing what they can say without pushing it beyond their friendship/coworker boundaries. And then he just smiles and says he's glad she's okay.

...Eh. Too sappy?

It won't go away!!! Whatr the hell is wrong?!

Question: Do you all think Adam and Emily have...you know? Mind me for asking, but my mom is always like "I think she gave him a little something, something." She always talks like that so I'm wondering if this time its not just her. It makes me think too.

That sounds perfect, Jessica. It sucks that you don't write for the show.

You know, not for nothing, but I always kinda felt Emily had a crush on Adam (way back when). I don't know why I thought that, probably body language from the pictures. In all the promo pics, she was always leaning towards him. Probably means nothing, but I always got that feeling.

Not she has a boy, though, tall and dark, too. Does Adam have a girlfriend? I don't even know what's going on in these people's lives.

Okay, I'm able to delete that webwarper thing really quickly and press post.

I know nothing about their personal lives. Emily's bf is tall, dark, and handsome too? Didn't Adam just breakup with someone? Knowing him(which I don't) he won't be alone for long.

10-7 is on right now on A&E. I love that episode. I love the previous one even more. The on with the trust line, what's it called? I can't believe I forgot.

Oh my God you forgot Whacked!!

So uh, is A&E just airing those in any random order, or is it just a perpetual marathon of Miami? 'Cause I watched it Friday night, and it was still the very beginning of season two. 'Hard Time,' I believe it was. Heh, I actually started writing a post-ep for that one a long time ago, where Eric reacts to Calleigh's spear gun bruise and etc, and for some reason I just never finished it.

I really hate that episode, but I love the part with Eric and Calleigh on the boat, after he'd just been diving and he thought he saw a mermaid. Hehe, when Horatio says Eric was right and tells him to look at the video, I love the little smirk Eric gives Calleigh. :D

Oh, Whacked! Good stuff. I love her honesty. For Calleigh to tell someone she trusts them with every fiber of her being, she's gotta really, really mean it. I mean think about it, by admitting that to Eric she's opening herself up to him and putting herself in a very vulnerable position. She's exposing herself to the possibility of him betraying her or taking advantage of her, which of course he won't, because it's Eric, but for someone like Calleigh to say something so risky HAS to be huge. I'm sure she trusts Horatio by default, and I guess Alexx, in a way, but I don't think she trusts them the way she trusts Eric. With Eric there's more honesty and vulnerability. She doesn't really share intimate things with Horatio or Alexx (and I don't think she trusts Ryan at all), but she does with Eric.

I love when Calleigh calls Eric, was it diver man? Diver boy? She was so flirty.

It is huge. Given what we know about her past, just how easy is it going to be for her to place her trust in just anybody?

I honestly cannot see Calleigh telling anybody other than Eric that she can basically trust them with everything within her. I think she trusts Alexx immensely, but come on, it's Alexx. Everyone trusts her, so it's not the same. And Horatio, yeah, she's always been 100% loyal to him, but once again, it's not the same.

I think Calleigh would more easily trust her life with Eric than she would with anyone else.

I still think that there's something deeper there than what TPTB are letting us see. Maybe, pre-season one, or something.

I want to know what happened. I want to know what Eric said or did to make Calleigh trust him so deeply.

Yeah, I think she's loyal to Horatio. Don't know if she trusts him that much. Every time he asks her if she's okay, she tells him she's fine and keeps on walking, and Horatio looks at her proudly. I think Eric is the only one who can always look at her and see when she's not just fine. Everyone else knows Calleigh is strong and they assume she'll always be strong. Eric can always tell when she isn't, like in 10-7. Did anybody ask her if she was okay? Horatio didn't even do that, neither did Ryan. Alexx assumed she wasn't, but didn't do anything to comfort her. Eric was the only one who did.

There should be a pre-existing level of intimacy, I think, for her to trust him that much. And by intimacy I don't mean sex. I think she probably trusts Eric because Eric trusts her so much that he allows her to see him during his weakest moments. Look at Death Grip. I don't think he would've opened up that way to Speed, or even Horatio, who doesn't seem to pay much attention to people. He talks to Alexx sometimes, but it's just talk. With Calleigh, there's more emotion. She's seen him pissed, sad, in the verge of tears, mourning, etc, because he lets her. I think she probably realizes that that's a big thing for him. In other words, he shows her he trusts her, and therefore she knows she can trust him.

Besides, I think Eric is the purest one on the show. That sounds weird. I know Eric gets around, but I think he has the purest soul. Calleigh knows Eric would never do or say anything to hurt her. Horatio is her boss, Alexx is just... mah, like a mom. There are things you just don't tell your mom. Ryan has a big mouth and his intentions aren't always good. He insulted her dad, for one, and that's a huge thing for Calleigh. She broke up with Hagen for that reason. Eric is really, as she said, the only one she can trust.

Wow, I need to re watch seasons 1, 2 and 3 urgently, I don't remember anything that you're saying :p why did Cal tell Eric that she trusted him? and a mermaid???? that was in Hard Time??? the one with the girl that wasn't dead  I have to buy the DVDs :p

In Whacked, they have to re-investigate an old case of Speed's. Eric is still upset about his death, so he gets angry that people (Ryan, mainly) are impling that Speed missed something important. Calleigh takes him aside and confronts him about the way he snapped at Ryan. Eric gets upset because he thinks Calleigh is always defending Ryan. Calleigh tells him that when people get upset, sometimes they make mistakes. Eric thinks she's implying that HE is always screwing up, and that is another reason why they have to go over the evidence again (he worked that case with Speed). Calleigh tells him that's not so, and tells him that she trusts him. I think the line was, "Eric, I trust you with every fiber of my being, and you know that." Eric smiles and calms down.

The mermaid thing was, I think in the second episode of season 2. I think that was the only scene they had in that episode. I don't really remember much of it.

Early season 2 was the best. They showed Death Grip on A&E the other night. Every time I listen to Gabriel, I still think of E/C.

Aww, Gabriel is like, total E/C. :D Calleigh's strong, she can do anything on her own, but she still wants Eric to be there. Aw.

Yeah, the mermaid thing and the spear gun are the only pieces I remember from that one episode. There was just a little too much Hagen in that one for my liking.

"Eric, I trust you with every fiber of my being, and you know that."

There's something about the way she says the last part of that that gets me every time. I love that it implies that she's told him something to that extent before, or that she's proven to him several times in the past just how deep her trust in him is.

It's a gorgeous song. I love Lamb.

I wonder if she's told him before. I think she has. You know, one of my regrets is that we never saw the effect Speed's death had on Eric and Calleigh's friendship. I know they kinda drifted, but I really wish the writers had explored that. I know there's always fanfic, but Adam and Emily could've done wonders with that plot. Alas.

Adam and Emily could do wonders with so, so many amazing plots if the writers would just for one second recognize that. It's not everyday you find two people with such amazing natural chemistry. Any other show, they'd be doing all they could to exploit that chemistry.

You know, one of my regrets is that we never saw the effect Speed's death had on Eric and Calleigh's friendship.

I always wanted to see that. All three of them were so close. It's like losing one corner of a triangle; the other two corners are gonna fall apart. Sure, we got the end result in that they're not as close as they once were, but I wanted to see just how it got that way.

Those first few months after Speed's death? There could've been some really, really great scenes there for Eric and Calleigh. I would have loved to see them sorta walking on eggshells around each other; neither of them knowing what to do or say around the other. In that timeline would have been the perfect place for one of those huge, stress-induced arguements that I always wanted to see them have.
